26th Annual International Bridge Walk: This year the International Bridge is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. For the Bridge Walk: 9 a.m. bicycle parade across the bridge; 10 a.m. bridge balk; noon to 4 p.m. guided bridge bus tours. For details, call 906-632-3301 (Sault Michigan) or 705-949-7152. Buses run continuously from the OLG Casino parking lot between 7 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. to transport Canadian walkers to the Norris Centre in Sault Michigan.

The Northern Ontario Ride for Sight takes place in downtown Sault Ste. Marie and includes live entertainment at the Bondar Pavilion with Lorrie Bolduc and That's Chester. Opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. For full event details, visit www.rideforsight.com

~ SUNDAY, JULY 1, 2012 ~

The Royal Canadian Legion (96 Great Northern Road) hosts free Canada Day Celebrations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day includes a fun house, the Balloon Man, face painting, the Legion Drum and Trumpet Band, food and refreshments, and more. Call 705-945-8721 for more information.

Canada Day at the Canal invites you to learn about life at the canal 100 years ago from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Play old fashioned games with costumed interpreters and take a guided tour. The Metis Nation of Ontario will be onsite with crafts, demonstrations and information about Metis culture. Call 705-941-6205 for further details.

Canada Day at the Bondar Pavilion begins with the opening ceremonies at 1 p.m. Live music follows with the Royal Canadian Legion Band, Andrew Queen, BeatleMagic, KT Antler, The Indian Friendship Centre Dancers, and Joseph Kargi.
