Temporary outflow reductions from Red Rock Generating Station due to low water conditions on Mississagi River

Brookfield Renewable Energy (Mississagi Operations) advises the public and recreational users that due to the continuing lack of precipitation and below-normal reservoir water levels on the Mississagi River system, the minimum outflow at the Red Rock Falls Generating Station has been reduced as a precautionary measure.

The Standing Advisory Committee of the Mississagi River Water Management Plan has recommended the outflow reduction from Red Rock GS to avoid further lowering of water levels in the Rocky Island, Aubrey Falls, and Tunnel Lake reservoirs.

Recreational users should note that the reduced outflow may make navigating downstream of the Red Rock GS difficult and potentially hazardous.
