23 charges for local male
ELLIOT LAKE - The East Algoma OPP has charged a local male with several charges after attending a residence on Dieppe Avenue in Elliot Lake.
At approximately 9:23 p.m., June 13, 2012 police received a call reporting the sound of breaking glass coming from a residence.
Police arrived on scene shortly after receiving the call and located the suspect in the house.
The accused was arrested and transported to the Elliot Lake Detachment.
Through investigation police learned that the suspect knew the homeowner and entered the residence without permission, while the owner was away from the residence.
Entry was allegedly gained through a shattered window.
Once in the residence, the suspect allegedly caused damage to the residence and its contents.
While the suspect was under arrest he allegedly threatened police and while the accused was in the police cruiser, he caused damage to a door and window.
The accused continued to utter threat to police, family members and to utter threat to cause damage to personal property.
Charged with the following is Paul Michael Young (45) of Elliot Lake:
- Mischief under $5,000 (x3)
- Utter threat to cause death or bodily harm (x14)
- Utter threat to damage property (x5)
- Break and enter
The accused remains in Sault Ste. Marie awaiting a Bail Hearing.
