SooToday.com has received the following letter and photos, from loyal reader Teresa Parker, of a remarkable event that happened on St. Joseph Island as the sun set last night.

On St Joseph Island this evening we had some needed rain.
While on an evening drive just as the rains ended I noticed Turkey Vultures sitting on fence posts drying their wings.
15 in one area with their wings spread drying them as the sun was setting.
They are massive and were something to see.
Not an attractive bird grant it but I believe if it were not for these birds cleaning up the dead and dying there could be more disease.
But tonight they spread their wings as to say "I am Beautiful", and in their own way...they were
