SAH warns of Internet employment scam

(June 4, 2012) – Sault Area Hospital (SAH) warns that a recent series of e-mails purporting to originate from SAH are part of an elaborate hoax.

The e-mails in question appear as a detailed letter from the SAH president or other SAH staff, sent through “Sault Area Consultancy,” offering employment opportunities to nurses and other health-care professionals in the Philippines and requiring them to attend a two-day “interview coaching” session.

SAH does not offer employment based on an online application only, nor do we require new employees to undergo “interview coaching” or any other type of training for which a fee is charged.

The hospital has no affiliation with “Sault Area Consultancy” nor are we involved in any recruitment efforts in the Philippines.

Schemes such as these are a form of advance fee fraud scamming where persons posing as recruiters or employers offer attractive employment opportunities which require the job seeker to pay fees in advance, usually under the guise of work visas, travel expenses - or in this case - “interview coaching.”

Should you or anyone you know receive such an email, please disregard and delete it.
