The money is coming from the federal Enabling Accessibility Fund.
 
“Our government recognizes the abilities of all Canadians and is committed to removing barriers to participation for people with disabilities,” notes Sault Ste. Marie MP Bryan Hayes in a news release.

To date, the fund has supported 800-plus projects, including 187 new ones with allocations totalling $6.2 million.
