The Art Gallery of Algoma was full of bodies at yesterday's art opening.

Literally, the floor was full of bodies.

Pictured, is part of the new exhibit, A Hinterbrane Project: Transient Phases III by Michael Burtch, which features a figure suspended over a sea of sculpted bodies.

Truly mesmerizing.

Burtch’s work revolves around the concept of the human body as an extension of consciousness blurring the distinction between nature and culture, male and female, self and other.

A Hinterbrane Project: Transient Phases III, by Michael Burtch is in the Main Gallery; In the Project Room, Taimi Poldmaa’s Aspirations of the Soul, and in the Education Gallery, Algoma University FINA 2012’s Impetus will be featured until July 22, 2012.
