Former Sault resident killed - homicide suspected

Raymond Taavel, a former Sault resident who attended high school locally during the 1980s, has been killed in Halifax.
His body was found early this morning outside a gay bar.
The deceased, 49, was an activist in the gay community there.
His death resulted from an apparent beating and Halifax police are treating the investigation as a homicide.
A suspect is in police custody.

I believe everyone is entitled to their own rights and stupid people like the one that killed him aren't going to change things. Time for society to grow up and adapt to the changing environment.

That just shows how strong his true human compassion was to help anyone is distress..Justice will be served and the Taavel family is in the hearts of all Saultites at this time.

I think the psychiatric element was on the side of the killer, not Mr. Taavel. Regardless of reasoning, this is terrible news and may I send my condolences to the family.
