Loplops was brimming with fans, family, and friends Thursday night to salute the release of Frank Deresti and the Lake Effect's debut record, This Time.

As an added bonus, the crowd was treated to a premiere screening of Dan Nystedt's music video for the album's title track, seen below.

In addition to a hefty set of sweet original compositions, the Lake Effect broke out an entire second set of sharply reworked covers, including a superb funky soul version of Subterranean Homesick Blues that would have made Bob Dylan himself smirk with delight.

Currently on the road, drawing the people of Southern Ontario to the greatness of Frank Deresti and the Lake Effect, This Time can be streamed and/or downloaded from the band's BandCamp page.

Deresti assured SooToday.com that the album will soon be available on iTunes as well as in local record stores.

Watch for it near you.
