Monkees' lead singer dead at 66

The Monkees' Davy Jones died today of an apparent heart attack in Indiantown, Florida.

He was 66.

Jones performed most recently on February 19.

The group, which disbanded some time ago, was formed in 1966 and also included Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork.

With Jones as the lead singer, hits included  "Daydream Believer," "Last Train to Clarksville" and "I'm a Believer."

The group also appeared in a TV show.
