Local athletes Mac and BJ Marcoux participated at the Ontario Para-Winter Games this past weekend in Huntsville. Competing in the Para-Alpine Events, they captured gold in slalom on Saturday, as well as gold in the giant slalom on Sunday.

Local athletes Mac and BJ Marcoux participated at the Ontario Para-Winter Games this past weekend in Huntsville. 

Competing in the Para-Alpine Events, they captured gold in slalom on Saturday, as well as gold in the giant slalom on Sunday.  

Their coach, Gwen Binsfield of the Ontario Para Alpine Ski Team, was impressed  by their performance.
 
Mac is a B3 visually impaired alpine  skier who is guided by his brother BJ . 

They are a great team making their mark in the Para-Alpine Ski World.  

With Searchmont as their home hill,  the pair are current members of the Ontario Para Alpine Ski Team, as well as prospects with  the Canadian National  Para-Alpine Team, which they will be joining on March 13-16, 2012, to take part in the IPC World Cup Finals in Panorama , B.C.

From there they will head to Quebec March 26-29, 2012, for the Para-Alpine Canadian Championships at Le Relais/Mt. St. Anne.  

Their goal is to make the Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team.
