Ford Motor Company of Canada laces up for the 2012 CARHA Hockey World Cup

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Canadian Adult Recreational Hockey Association (CARHA) and the CARHA Hockey World Cup (CHWC) are pleased to announce Ford Motor Company of Canada as an official presenting level sponsor of the 2012 CARHA Hockey World Cup.

The event is taking place from March 4 -11, 2012 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

“Ford is an iconic brand with strong Canadian roots and we are very excited to have them onboard,” said Lori Lopez, director of business operations, CARHA Hockey. “Hockey is Canada’s sport and it is great to see a well-known brand like Ford supporting Canada’s favourite pastime via the CARHA Hockey World Cup.”

“We are thrilled to partner with CARHA for this exciting event,” said Rick Gemin, sponsorships and events manager, Ford Motor Company of Canada. “Ford is a global company and the longest established auto maker in Canada, so it’s fitting that we support a Canadian event like the 2012 CARHA Hockey World Cup, which attracts international participation.”

Throughout the tournament, event goers will have the chance to view Ford’s latest vehicles, which will be showcased at the Opening Ceremonies as well as within the Athletes Village.

It's been labelled the "Olympics" of recreational hockey, and since its inception in 1996, has grown to be the largest international adult recreational hockey tournament in the world.

Organized every four years in a select Canadian city, the CARHA Hockey World Cup attracts participants from all across Canada, the United States and Europe, each sharing a passion for the sport of hockey.
