CAPT presents Track to the Future town hall meeting

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Coalition for Algoma Passenger Trains (CAPT) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting "Track To the Future", a town hall meeting on Tuesday, November 29 at 7 p.m. in the Doc Brown Lounge at Algoma University.

The meeting will provide local area residents with the chance to get engaged in the discussion on the current state of the transportation network available to Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District, and how the renewal of passenger rail services will greatly enhance that network.

The meeting will feature an extended trailer of the soon to be released film De-Railed: The National Dream.

Local filmmaker Dan Nystedt has been working hard and traveling across the country interviewing rail employees, unions, management, politicians at all levels (both Canadian and American), environmentalists, economists, rail activists, and more to produce an important documentary on short-line passenger service across Canada.

Also featured will be updates from CAPT including the annual Group of Seven Train Event and developments with regional community groups across Ontario.

Guest speakers will highlight areas of need locally that would be solved by passenger rail.

CAPT will be giving attendees of the meeting the first opportunity of the season to purchase the new 2012 CAPT calendar - ideal for a stocking stuffer or holiday gift for friends and family, and a very economical one at that as it retails for only $10 (77 cents per calendar month, an excellent return on investment for the beautiful photos that the calendar's owner will have to enjoy month after month).

Refreshments will be served and entry is free, so please plan to attend and partake in the discussion on passenger rail!
