Help Your Child Choose an Education with Job Opportunities

Sault College Employment Solutions will be hosting their annual Careers of the Future event on Thursday, December 3rd from 7 – 9 p.m. in Sault College’s new Multi Media Centre, room M1030 in Essar Hall.

Careers of the Future is an event for local high school students and their parents that will provide information about careers that are expected to be in demand over the next 2 – 5 years in Algoma and the surrounding area.

The event will feature presentations from representatives in digital gaming, construction, law enforcement and information technology sectors.

Presentations will highlight the types of positions, work environments, benefits and salary ranges that can be expected in the local job market in the near future.

This event will assist students and parents with their immediate post-secondary education planning as well as long-term career planning, providing insight into education paths that can lead to employment.

Local employers scheduled to present include the RCMP, Canadian Bank Note Company, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and Ellis Don.

Each organization will deliver a 10-15 minute presentation to be followed by a brief question and answer period from the audience.

Following the event, light refreshments will be provided and information tables will be set up from Sault College, Contact North and Employment Solutions.

In addition, a number of prize draws will take place during the evening, including a grand prize draw for an 8" 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab A.

This free event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Parking is available near Willow Restaurant entrance (Willow Ave) or in the “A Lot” on Northern Avenue, located across the street from the College.
