The City’s Social Fundraising Committee held its annual Children’s Wish Charity Breakfast this morning, raising $2,000 in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada – Ontario Chapter.

Over 150 employees contributed to enjoy breakfast generously provided by The Grand Gardens, with assistance from Walmart North and the Pastry Shoppe.

“The donation of food from Grand Gardens for our annual breakfast event has been tremendous,” says Bianca Berlingieri, committee chair. “The generosity of owners Lee and Ken Goodship, and their staff, has enabled our employees to contribute $6,500 over four years to the Children’s Wish Foundation to help local children and their families.”

At today’s event, the City presented Lee and Ken Goodship with a recognition plaque in acknowledgement of their ongoing support for children with a life threatening disease.

The charity breakfast is one of many activities organized by the City’s Social Fundraising Committee.

Since 2005, City employees have raised close to $40,000 for various charities.
