Arson charge laid in Church Street fire (update: name released)

Further to the news release below, charged with these offenses is Dennis Peddle, age 34, of Manitou Drive.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office have been investigating a house fire in the 100 block of Church Street that occurred during the early morning hours of November 5, 2015.

A 34-year-old male is currently in custody, charged with arson related offences, and will appear in bail court today.

The identity of the accused is not yet being released and the investigation is continuing.
