SooToday.com is similar to a daily local newspaper in content but is available on-line only.

Local news web sites in Canada are often operated by a local newspaper that is usually reluctant to compete against its printed version.  The results can be a second-rate web site with little news value to the viewers.

SooToday.com is unique in that we are independently and locally owned.  We compete with the local printed newspaper with vigour when presenting Sault Ste. Marie news.

In addition to hard news, this applies to sports, obituaries, births, classifieds, police reports, editorials, columns, kid’s pages, business directories, and several live web cam views of Sault Ontario and Michigan.

For our viewer’s convenience, we also offer archived local news, sports, births and deaths information with a search engine.

SooToday.com is updated all day long although much of the new material (police reports, sports, editorials, etc.) is posted each day at 7:00am, 365 days per year.
