Why the World Needs Clean Water (and how you can help)

Thursday, July 24, 2014   by: Greener Ideal

The infographic below is full of astounding stats, such as:

  •  780 million people lack access to clean water
  • Every 30 seconds a child dies from a waterborne illness
  • 80% of all disease in the world is caused by contaminated water
  • and 3.4 million people die every year from water related diseases

It’s eye-opening to think about how much we take clean, running water for granted, when so many in the world have absolutely no access to such a luxury.

How much is your roof worth with solar panels?

Profit from your roof space: find local deals on solar in your area, eliminate your power bill, and join the solar revolution.

Now, WaterStep (the organization that produced this infographic) is creating channels for everyday people to contribute to getting clean water to areas of the world where it’s not readily available. This can be done through volunteering, fundraising, interning, or donating – either money, or things like shoes. Their efforts have already brought safe drinking water to 10 million people throughout 23 countries.

Be sure to visit to join in their efforts, and check out the full infographic below:
