Good Monday morning everybody!
Just Curious 6/16/2014 9:25:09 AM Report

G'Mornin' World...Got past Fathers day again this year and got my eyes open this morning so I guess I'm gonna survive for a while yet.. Nice day shaping up out there, gonna get out and enjoy it with the mutt...
BIG BROTHER 6/16/2014 9:43:24 AM Report

And this is exactly why Duffy should never have been chosen by Harper to be a Senator. Character is everything in that House. But then Karma has a way of....

'The damage Mike Duffy inflicted on Mr. Dion’s campaign was measurable. Stephen Harper won the October 2008 general election and formed another government, still a minority but with an increased number of seats. A panel at the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council concluded that journalist Duffy violated broadcasting codes and ethics by airing the “false starts” of the Liberal leader’s interview, ruling he “was not fair, balanced, or even handed.”

Two months later, on December 22, the reinstated prime minister gave “the Senator” his most cherished Christmas present ever, a real seat in the Senate of Canada.'
BIG BROTHER 6/16/2014 9:45:44 AM Report

I post this for those who ask the naive/lame question....'How should Harper have known the character of his appointments'.

It's more like Duffy met Harper's requirements of being a known scoundrel.
flyhawk25 6/16/2014 9:54:01 AM Report

BB...Duffy did his job for the PM.
When he tries to get back into broadcasting he'll either be reporting for Sun Media or reading livestock prices in Bruce county.Same job, different sheep.
Just Curious 6/16/2014 9:56:03 AM Report

The senate is the biggest waste of space in Canada, short of the Prime Ministers residence...
redranger 6/16/2014 10:13:45 AM Report

The bi-cameral system works but would work much better if both parts were elected.
flyhawk25 6/16/2014 10:23:34 AM Report

RR...I think the majority of Canadians agree.
Unfortunately the province who would lose out do not. Sadly I cannot see it happening.
irishfey 6/16/2014 11:20:04 AM Report

Could some point out what's going on in Iraq.. I still think that if Saddam was still in charge we wouldn't be seeing this mess today,, and Obama is looking to Iran to help??? Would be like calling a Fox to a Chicken party!
redranger 6/16/2014 12:21:23 PM Report

If Saddam were in charge, possibly worse things would be happening. There would be one difference. We would not hear about them.
Mr. Poster 6/16/2014 12:30:31 PM Report

Rob Ford...the musical...is not casting in Toronto...WHAT NEXT EH ??
Wisenheimer 6/16/2014 12:32:24 PM Report

Hey Fly ...did you ever envision your golden years being mainly taken up with making one trick pony criticisms, on some rinky dink blog day in, day out?
Is that all there is?
BIG BROTHER 6/16/2014 12:32:30 PM Report

...and possibly not!

Attacking Iraq was possibly one of the stupidest things Dubya did (and he did many) while in office. Trillions of dollars later, 4,500 US troops dead and 100's of thousands of Iraqi's killed, for no apparent reason. It created a vacuum for groups like ISIS to step in and take control. At least Hussein knew how to control those people; the US doesn't.
lookaround 6/16/2014 12:38:09 PM Report

Wisen hemimer do you ever have any intelligent subjects to discuss? You are always giving"who gives a $hit" advice. Seems innocuous coming from your simplistic mind.
mallet 6/16/2014 12:59:22 PM Report

Big Brother..

And Ghadafi also kept his country together too, seems as soon as the western powers intervene in these countries, they leave a worse mess than they thought they were solving.. One would think that the western countries would learn to leave well along and let them (middle eastern countries) sort out their own messes.. However the UK and US seem to have to stick their noses in when it would be best to leave well alone... I Know, I Know, human rights and all that, but they fail to recognise that their idea is different to ours and we should understand that by now...
mallet 6/16/2014 1:01:32 PM Report

Satus Quo...

Don't get too excited, Germany is only leading 3 nought and as you know it is not over until the final whistle or the fat lady sings... Deutschland uber alles!!
BIG BROTHER 6/16/2014 1:14:28 PM Report

What you said about the US is true Mallet. They should stay out of other countries. One would have thought Vietnam taught them that lesson. The exception is that Libya started as a Civil War....an uprising against Ghadafi. And it was NATO that intervened, not a unilateral US action.

The US broke it and on some moral level they should fix it. That is the mess Dubya left and now wants to blame Obama for!!
Wisenheimer 6/16/2014 1:20:04 PM Report

Look .. Au contraire, my advice is wise and profound, unlike your nasty, loutish comment.
As the TSX reaches it's highest level since 2008, I hope you have come along for the ride and turned your frown upside down.
steelworker 6/16/2014 1:22:56 PM Report

Obama is too busy bowing down to Middle -Eastern despots or golfing. Take your pick.
irishfey 6/16/2014 1:31:16 PM Report

B.B and MALLET.. that was my reasoning behind my post about Saddam, glad you picked up on it as I'm not that great with wording things,, thanks....
mallet 6/16/2014 1:50:09 PM Report

Big Brother..

I think you will find that the US took the idea to the UN and was first on the scene. It did not start as a civil war, as I understand it, it started with the disturbances in Benghazi and Ghadfi said he would crush (massacre) them, and this caused a human rights scare, and then the support of the rebels. I asked the White House how they thought their Arab Spring responses had worked out for them, the answer I got was "no comment" from that I guessed it wasn't what they wanted.. We, as a country should stay out of all these disputes unless asked by the government of that country for help, we can then look at the situation and decide whether to or not... Not go in as part of a coalition forces...

Status Quo

4 Nought for Germany... try not to get too wobbly on that bike of yours, hate to see you as the "mascot" on a Mac truck..... even if you do resemble!!!
lookaround 6/16/2014 2:20:50 PM Report

Wisen 2008 should never have happened. But then again you are not intelligent enough to know the ramifications of greed. All about the money and to hell with the way of life that used to be. Thanks oh and you are welcome in telling you what you cannot fathom. Your tips are bogus buddy.
lookaround 6/16/2014 2:25:08 PM Report

Some minute brains think that the little uptick of the TSX is going to create jobs and prosperity(only for the 1%). A panacea that if the stock is good then we will all live a pansy dandy life full of posies and ferries. Get real. Been there done that now moved on that old theory.
bounder 6/16/2014 2:26:00 PM Report

Here's one thought from me, how are they going to improve the border crossing on our side if they do the same as now , one or two border people handling all the traffic at peak times?
Doesn't seem feasible to spend all that cash and no improvement at the gate.
Wild Turkey 6/16/2014 2:35:03 PM Report

Bounder--The new configuration will help the big semis manouver their way to Essar and Carmen's Way.
There are some tight turns at the moment.
steelworker 6/16/2014 3:01:05 PM Report

"Been there done that" and got a nice t-shirt from Bangladesh no doubt.
sportsman 6/16/2014 3:10:52 PM Report

Let the people of Canada decide if they want a senate.Let us have a poll here for fun and I bet 90 present say no.
BIG BROTHER 6/16/2014 3:49:12 PM Report

Mallet,
'Big Brother..

I think you will find that the US took the idea to the UN and was first on the scene. It did not start as a civil war'

Not so. Everything points to a Civil War/Revolution. NATO was consulted and approved intervention. Now, likely the US led the charge, but it was multi-lateral and approved by NATO.

Iraq, as we know and knew at the time, was not sanctioned by either NATO or the UN. This was the original point. The US tried to build a coalition, but were determined to go it alone anyway. And we see the results of such stupidity. The country is at least as bad or worse off than it was prior to the US intervention. And they have little to no support to fix their problem.
lookaround 6/16/2014 3:49:20 PM Report

There he is Steelworker the one trick pony with the daily you're in snivel snipe you're out comment. Predictable as usual.
BIG BROTHER 6/16/2014 3:49:59 PM Report

Sportsman,
The Senate reform requires opening the Constitution. Not gonna happen!!
bounder 6/16/2014 4:41:17 PM Report

Well if they needed to open the Constitution for a pay raise they would find a way to do it.
Mr. Poster 6/16/2014 4:42:47 PM Report

Getting rid of the senate will be as difficult as it would be to get rid of catholic schools and French schools in favour of one educational provider.
steelworker 6/16/2014 4:53:27 PM Report

Some posters should get out of the basement and have moomy take them to the park.
BIG BROTHER 6/16/2014 4:59:07 PM Report

Steely, We don't have to hear what you refer to your mother as. Mom or ma would be fine.....pet names, such as moomy, should be kept quiet, unless you are 5 years old and she is kissing a boo-boo to make it better.
redranger 6/16/2014 5:33:10 PM Report

Check out the schedule of days/times that Steely posts. You will very quickly realize that he is posting while at work at Essar. He takes time away from downloading movies which he and his buddies watch at work,
steelworker 6/16/2014 5:40:44 PM Report

...and making popcorn. Jealous much?
steelworker 6/16/2014 5:45:18 PM Report

I wrote a book while at work. I call it Moo-my Deerest. No charge for the laughs.
flyhawk25 6/16/2014 6:18:02 PM Report

You should probably read one before you write one.
Mr. Poster 6/16/2014 6:35:30 PM Report

I think I saw that book at the library...written by a I.M. BECILE
steelworker 6/16/2014 6:52:24 PM Report

I put lots of colourful pictures in it for you two chumps. Maybe someone can read all the big words to you so you don't get scared.
steelworker 6/16/2014 6:56:23 PM Report

I saw Mr. Poster at the library taking out a book on proctology written by Dr. Wilma Phingerdoo.
lookaround 6/16/2014 7:29:56 PM Report

Yep a typical union worker growing moss in his seat (doing sfa) while whiling away at the computer wearing away the keyboard. Typical caterwauling on company time.
soowat 6/16/2014 7:56:35 PM Report

steelworker:

Cool comment from someone who spends most of his life grabbing his ankles while enjoying what his union brethren did for him

Just a sophisticate way of saying, we're outta here suck it up SSM

Mr. Poster 6/16/2014 8:32:40 PM Report

Now now...don't start rumours.
lookaround 6/16/2014 9:01:37 PM Report

Steelworker is a lonely willful sad excuse of a man.

Most like married 2 times with a pit bull and a 1978 dodge sitting in his junkyard. Lacks a few pages short of a sad novella about a man in his dark days befriending a bottle of 40 Creek.

steelworker 6/16/2014 9:23:14 PM Report

I wish I could afford 40 Creek. True that my two wives left me but they are still my sisters and we often go driving in the Dodge.
BIG BROTHER 6/16/2014 9:32:40 PM Report

Hey, Hilary's on the National...watch and learn!!
lookaround 6/16/2014 9:39:17 PM Report

That is at 10. Too late. Stevie Harper needs me at my station for 7:00 in the a.m. and I need my beauty sleep so I will PVR. Gotta love technology.
steelworker 6/17/2014 2:00:19 AM Report

Billary is on the National!!!!??? She will get softballs lobbed at her by that dick Mansbridge and keep buying that book. People died in Benghazi and she said "What does it matter?" Her and her pedophile hubby should be in jail.
