Good morning everyone.

It`s another beautiful morning.

So, yesterday, out on my bike, I`m waiting for the green light and this lady drives up behind than switching lanes to pass me on the left to make a right turn, so I moved up so she couldn`t make that turn and gave her one of my looks, she just turned away.
This happens a lot, I almost got hit once.
No matter if your close to the curb or
in the middle, people will try to pass on your left to turn right, they can`t wait a few minutes for the light to change.

Morning Folks...

Another nice looking day, going to leave the household chores until later today..Lake is as calm as a mill pond, and just some high thin cloud, and breezeless again...

Flipping through the channels last night came across the PBS station doing one of their viewer fund raising. All the Big Bands, Glenn Miller, Tommey Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, even Laurence Welk.. Jo stafford, The Jordonaires, Oh memories. My earliest, being taking to see and hear Glenn Miller and the 8th Army Airforce Band in Chapelfield Gardens in Norwich mid 1944, he was lost in December that year as I recall. Someone was saying the "good old days" didn't exist, but as far as music is concerned, I would disagree.

Anyways, work beckons, so it's up and at 'em, again.. maybe later..

You all have a great day out there...
celeste5 6/1/2014 10:17:24 AM Report

I use to watch Laurence Welk with my dad.
I watch the PBS Station when they have the music from the 60,s & 70,s,
It`s good music to dance to, sure not like 80, and on.
Today, the kids dance crazy and touch themselfs, LOL, not sure if they still do that, because I don`t get out much.

Morning Folks... Another beautiful day ahead then rain for tomorrow. I seem to be sleeping very well these days so i was up in time to go to Church, just for the first part ( the bread and the wine) as Hubby wants an early start on today. Should get all the plants in today... CELESTE .. Please be careful on the bike, some folks don't like driving behind them and will go to extremes to get you off the road,, better to be safe than to prove you have the right to be there too. I myself get very nervous when i drive behind a biker, some have not played by the rules of the road and i'm always afraid i may hit one... FAITHFULLY...That was a loaded question to me from last night. Not sure how to answer you on it. Most of my jabs on my Hubby are meant in jest but I think every Wife would like to throttle their Hubbys at one point or another ,lol. ( men think the same way too ) Hubby and i joke that we stay together for the fact that we are too old and that no one else would want either of us ,lol.. You sound young and you're right, it's not easy being a girl or a Woman. The thing is that you just have to meet up with the right Man that will take you as you are and vise versa with the Men. No one is perfect and you have to take each other , flaws and all and just have to work through your differences. Takes many years to do this, but if you just stick with it the outcome will be good... You said that you were at the bbq with your Son at the Sons Dads house, so i gather you are having some problems there. ( i may be wrong in thinking this, but that's how it sounded ) I don't know what the situation is but keep in mind that your Son should come first and foremost in your life. Try talking things out with the Sons Father ( seems that you are on good terms with him ) and both of you just try and do what's best for your Son..... I may e-mail you but I have to get my e-mail changed over first as my real name is on it and i would rather that no one knew who i was.... Maby you could explain a bit more without putting out too many personal details and some other Ladies may be able to offer advice also...... Off to the outside now, so.... later folks......
mallet 6/1/2014 2:10:04 PM Report

OHHH kaka, rain has stopped play, now I have no excuse not to do the house work. I do the sweeping and vacuuming as the wife has a bad back and a couple of minutes plays it up and all I hear then are the moans and groans, it is worth my doing it to not hear that.

Anyways I have got the dry stone wall finished and then just to back fill with loam for the strawberry beds. That should not take too long if/when we get some decent dry weather again..

Irish.. You answer to Faithfully was fairly general. Unfortunately in todays society, the marriage vows are not always taken seriously, love, respect and honour, are just words in many cases. Do things go wrong, of course, and for many reasons, but nothing is insurmountable. I suppose one of the hardest to overcome is lack of a home and money/debt, that can take a terrible toll on any relationship. And you are right about one thing, as you get older, who else will put up with you, I know I would look a long way to find a women who would put up with me except my wife, after 40 odd years we are comfortable with one another... Only advice I can give is.. never go to bed angry..seems to have worked for us...
irishfey 6/1/2014 4:02:38 PM Report

MALLET .. Hubby just sent me packing back into the house,lol.. He got a bit tired of my moans and groans as well, and my .."" hurry up will ya "".. Like those bags of soil are heavy!.. I have a bad back too and feet and knees and legs.... but I do love to " help" " :) out with the outside work. I know of the pain your Wife has... even sweeping the floor is hard on the back.. nice of you to help out, Hubby does too as well. Good thing we had the pallets as the garden is about 30+30 size, ( small compared to our other ones ) and we still had more to put in.. Just about done now then it's going to be a movie day. When i answered FAITHFULLY, i got to thinking.. was it just my marriage she was asking about as of all the bitc*** i do in here,lol.. or was it marriage in general? I don't know all her details but you filled her in on the rest and all you said was true... Hope she gets her answers and will be ok... If she needs more help she can just ask and I'm sure some of the Ladies ( and Men) would give her advice also... I once hears a Pastor talk of how a good Marriage is formed. He said it was like taking two potatoes ( people) then you skinned them, mashed them up together untill they became as one ,lol...I best get back outside as i have two Peone ( sp? ) plants that have to go in and i have to tell Hubby where to put them :)... Did you get rain??? ... Later....
irishfey 6/1/2014 4:04:16 PM Report

Oops... should have been.. I once " heard".. not hears ,lol.. Spelly.. was a typo ,lol

Had to come in, was raining quite hard there for a bit and now just a few spots here and there, but I am not going to haul all the tools out just to put them back in 5 minutes later. Plus there is a whole nother day tomorrow I have not touched.
The problem with gardening out here is there is no topsoil, loam, sand, just shale rock, sandstone and some granite boulders. Only thing covering the rock is the leaves over the years and what sand and top soil we have bought and spread. You could only use a "roto tiller" if it was on a backhoe and had carbide teeth, ordinary tines would just buckle, I can have a fully loaded tri axle truck drive down the driveway and dump its load and you would never know one had been down, the ground is so solid. That is why we have "planter Boxes", large ones, instead of gardens, now, easier on the backs, that is why your pallet idea is great.

As for Marriage, the old saying goes "marry in haste, repent at leisure" holds very true. I am not a great church goer, being a cheap SOB I try and cut out the middle man, that way I get a better deal, but a vow to me is sacred, my word or handshake is my bond, old fashioned I know, but what can I say, that was how I was brought up, and I will not nor want to change, beside I am too damn old to learn new tricks now...
faithfully 6/1/2014 5:10:14 PM Report

Hi everybody
first of all i just wanted apologize to TheProtector I shouldn't have even said that I don't even know you so I just wanted to say sorry.
IrishFey & Mallet thank you for sharing with me about marriage.
IRISHFEY I have a child with a guy I care about a lot but I don't think he wants to commit. Its very upsetting because I am 34 and I think that I should be married by now. I can't even imagine having to move on but I can't rob myself either thinking that there is hope there when maybe there isn't anyways thanks IrishFey and Mallet.
T-rat 6/1/2014 5:46:48 PM Report

Evening Mallet. Trust you welcomed the rain as much as I did, regardless of the reason.

Do you know if Art is still repairing pumps over on Mission Road, and if so, would you know his phone number? I have his address but would like to call first if he's still in the business.

Is it just me or are you also finding clouds of mosquitoes this year compared to previous? And they're damned aggressive to boot.
mallet 6/1/2014 7:48:10 PM Report

T Rat..

I do not know, I asked Right Wing and he gave me the address but I have lost that now, but he did not give me Arts' phone number. He is either un-listed or does not have a phone now.

As for the mozzies, they sure came on with a vengence in the last 48 hours, and yes are pretty agressive too, time to get the bug lamp out..

The rain held off just long enough for me to finish what I was doing and then saved me a lot of hard graft... that can wait a day or two with no trouble..
irishfey 6/1/2014 8:36:10 PM Report

Hi everyone.. This will be short and sweet as I'm too pooped to think or type. No rain here at all but it looks like it will be here soon... MALLET.. You have restored my faith in the Men of today.A Man that will go by a handshake is very rare and your Mamma taught you well.. Bless you!.. FAITHFULLY...Just my opinion, but being 34 and having a child with this Man seems like he should sh, um, poop or get off the pot. No harm do to PRO or you would have heard about it ,lol.... Will talk more tomorrow, sorry but am just too tired.... Have a great night,, and... God bless... you too Pro :)
