I want to start the day off with a BIG thank you to Sootoday for changing the posting rules for puppy sellers. If I read the update correctly, our local puppy mills charging over $100 for basically mutts will HAVE to pay to advertise. I for one am glad to see that.

Registered CKC/AKC breeders HAVE to pay to register their dogs plus vet costs while backyard breeders/puppy mills skip this sell for crazy prices for pure profit and the health expense of the dogs involved.

I'm not saying ALL breeders are perfect. But when it costs a REAL breeder between $1,000-4,000 to have a CKC registered litter of puppies, it's frustrating to see all the sick mutts people get duped into for big bucks.

So keep it up SooToday and one day these puppy mills will stop selling their sick dogs in our city.

BTW if you REALLY want a cross bred PLEASE go to the shelter and adopt!!!!

Morning Folks..

Looks like a nice day out here, so maybe we can get some real work done for a change.. The wife picked up some plants yesterday while in town and we can get them planted, and then I can get on with the important stuff..

I quite agree, I do not understand why people will pay hundreds and in some cases thounsands when the pound is full of animals. After we lost our last dog we were not going to have anymore, however we saw one at the Humane Society that kind of took our attention. Not a puppy but rather an older dog, they had her spayed for us at a nominal fee and she is now at her forever home. We could have got a similar breed for fee, but then we would have had to have it spayed or neutered and that would have cost around $400, plus the shots which would have been possible but harder when we are on pension.

You all have a great weekend out there..

Good morning everyone.

I was out early this morning, I had a nice bike ride.
I had a nice visit with my mother,
I also seen a few butt cracks, LOL,
people bent over,
preparing their flower beds.

There is a military command that covers the situation; "avert your eyes".

While some are planting.....I'm killing! I'm somewhat skeptical about social media claims to do this or do that but I decided to try a non-toxic remedy for DANDELIONS from Facebook. Yes, those obnoxious little yellow spring visitors that last all year and virtually take over your lawn and get thicker every year. Well, I did a test spray last weekend and there are large brown patches of what used to be large, healthy clumps of dandelions. I just sprayed a whole lot more until I ran out of ingredients. More's on the way.

Not sure what one of the commercial weed companies would charge but I can almost guarantee that this new-found remedy is cheaper. And being on the shore of Lake Superior I want to ensure that I'm what I'm spraying is environmentally friendly, especially to my on-shore water supply.
