'Mornin' people. We get a few days of decent weather now, it seems.

Mallett, regarding your toaster comment, I was having the same sort of problems a few years back out in the 4 seasons drive area and still do here in town now. I just don't pay much attention to it anymore. A friend of mine(a licenced industrial electrician) came out on day with a meter of some sort to show me that my incoming power could vary as much as 15-20 volts at times. At Soo college later I was told the same thing. Some times a roast will be perfect and others it comes out of the oven half raw, at the same setting. I just give up complaining about it..:).

Hello again

In regard to Trevor seaton`s posts.

In this city you have the Upper Class,
Middle, Lower Class and the Low Lifes.
And those posts were not removed because, most people are disrepectful of who they think are the Low life`s,
and just love to comment on these types
of stories, even after someone has died.

Morning Folks...

T G I F, not that it really matters to me, but to some it may. It was bright sunshine earlier on this Am however now it is a little cloudy, AGAIN. It is very still this morning not a breath of wind, and down to 1C overnite, I had put the flower baskets in the shed just in case.

Taking a run into town later today, pick up a few things, and then get down to some outside work, if as the forecasters say, and hopefully, it stays warm and dry...

Thanks Just Curious, I thought perhaps it was just my toaster, I am now wondering if the voltage variation affects these stupid "smart" meters in any way...

You all have a great weekend and enjoy the good weather. (if any)...
irishfey 5/23/2014 9:24:08 AM Report

Morning Friends.. I just woke up from my self induced " coma" from last night ,lol Should have shut my mouth and quit while i was ahead. Thanks Red, I asked for that one :) Thank you Atticus and Rockbanger for the encouragement of my poems... When i wrote my poems i never really kept many of them, I just did it for the pleasure of doing them and helping some out with their grief. I might have some packed away and consider what you said to do. Poems come easy to me ( same as Celeste). I can just whip them off when the mood hits, but i never gave any thought to try and have them published..... Anyway, It's going to be a nice day, so lets get out there and enjoy it..... Later..... CELESTE... Yes you'r right about the comments on the young Mans death, folks need a lesson on respect these days!
Wicket 5/23/2014 10:04:10 AM Report

irishfey - personally, I think that someone like Hallmark cards would be interested in your writings. Not too sure how interested younger people are in poems, but just about everyone buys cards. Give it a shot and contact them...

Irish
I liked the sentiments in your poem and will not comment on grammar or spelling as that would detract from my compliment.
I do have one question. You speak of your Saviour. I assume that , as a Christian, you mean Jesus. My question is this. How could he say to you to come and meet his son. Jesus had no son that we are aware of. I know what you meant but that got lost somewhere.

Irish

Definition of a poet:

Someone who doesn't believe it's a crime to take the time to rhyme
irishfey 5/23/2014 10:49:25 AM Report

Thanks WICKETT... might do that.... Aww GEE RED.... Ok... It's my view that God the Father and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one in the same. In the Old Testament God the Father reffers to Himself as the Savior and comes down in the form and body of Jesus in the New Testament. Jesus even says.. " If you have seen me, you have seen the Father also.. The Father and I are one""".... You have to understand it , that's all.. ( just my belief ) Hope this helps you.... There is not enough room on this site to write down all the sayings from the New and Old Testaments to prove this fact,, and I for one will not even try....... Am going out to enjoy the day......
cilla 5/23/2014 10:54:09 AM Report

just a quick question, are smelts still running?
irishfey 5/23/2014 10:57:27 AM Report

Soowat.. ,, You're a poet and don't know it ,lol..... RED.. It took me about a half hour to write that poem and i just did it for a friend. I guess i could have taken the time to go over it more and changed some of the wording, but just didn't think of it... Am happy that you liked it though..... Enough of the poem!! Get outside and enjoy the sunshine ,lol
irishfey 5/23/2014 11:05:02 AM Report

Wise, in the B.R. is a poet too ,lol

Mallet good question on meters, are we getting our money's worth, like gas the higher the octane the more it cost, and vice versa. Are we paying the same for sub standard electricity?
mallet 5/23/2014 4:36:42 PM Report

Bounder...

I was checking my power bills this morning, and noticed that in some cases the delivery charge is less than the power used charge and other times it is more for delivery than power used. I talked to the customer service rep, and was told this was normal, but they are going to send me the print out of how this is all reckoned out. here is a basic $28 and change charge even if the main breaker is off, and no power is used. I think this is something our polcal politicians should be looking at very close, I think the off peak, mid peak and peak rates and then the delivery chage is just a way for the power companies to rip off the consumers...
bounder 5/23/2014 5:05:16 PM Report

Mallet what's new, that's the old carnival act, if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bulls++t. We just have to keep on them!

They're Longfellow's.

Couldn't resist.

irishfey 5/23/2014 7:29:11 PM Report

Atticus.. Another poet in the making?? ,lol.. good one. .... Celeste... There is a cure for your mistakes, don't read over your posts ,lol.... Bounder.. I havn't heard that expression in years.. about the bulls*** and brilliance ( yep, spelled that wrong ):) Thanks for reminding me of it.....
irishfey 5/23/2014 7:30:50 PM Report

Yay.. Didn't spell it wrong,, star for me ,lol
irishfey 5/23/2014 8:08:19 PM Report

Mallett..I just checked my power bill. ( don't usually ).. I paid 54.55 for the power i used and the delivery charge was 55.96... The rest of the charges like tax etc. came to 20.10.... My bad, sometimes as i use the washer and dryer when i feel like doing it. I'm going to start playing by the rules and see if it goes down.... Now, a question.... My gas bill is usually 130.00 a month i think ( E.B) and all i have is that small heater downstairs that was always kept on low, and the water heater is gas.( I owe them $$ now) Now a friend of mine in town has a house about the same size as mine and her bill is about 56-58 $$ a month, and she heats her whole house with it, water tank included,, so what gives with that?? That is her WHOLE bill, delivery and all. I don't get it!!! I'm putting a stop to my E.B after last months screw up when they charged me over a grand as the guy read the meter wrong! I turned off the gas when i got that bill and i'm just waiting for the next one to see what it will be... You can't fight these folks so we are just screwed i guess..... I was out today and seen the signs of the folks you mentioned,, all but the Green Party... All i really want outa my life at this stage is to be able to heat the house ( yes we have the woodstove, thank God ) and a little raise in the Pensions wouldn't hurt! Am i asking too much???.. The taxes down here are high and i wonder if we will be able to maintain the house after Hubby retires. We will only have the CPP and the OAP to live off of. The house is paid for so i guess i can count my blessings on that as i know some arn't that lucky. .... I don't have a clue who to vote for either!.... I'm going off now, but will check tomorrow if you have anything to say to this..... You al have a great night... and God bless.....
atticus 5/23/2014 8:16:24 PM Report

Can't steal that one Irish. Just a little ditty from childhood.
soowat 5/23/2014 10:30:46 PM Report

atticus

Into the size if my feet you may delve but I'm happy with the fact they are size twelve.

If that didn't get Robert frost spinning in his grave I don't know what will
