Good morning all, Celest5 better bring a raincoat if you plan riding later today.
Irishfey, your last post was right on point, but I don't think many read it, repost it please,on both forums.
irishfey 5/7/2014 9:48:09 AM Report

Good Morning bounder... friends.... bounder,, Do i have to? I'm a coward! ,lol. Things are going pretty good in there so far, wouldn't i be " stirring the pot?" Which post are you refering to? The last one in the B.R? or in here,, post the time of it please so i'll know which one you're talking about. I have to wait for my " I don't give a crap" pills to kick in first ,lol I think i overdid it yesterday,, cleaned out the Cars, raked etc... I feel like a Mac Truck hit me!.. Should have known better.... I thought the rain was holding off till tomorrow?.. We get what we get i guess..... Mallet.. How's the Goulias River doing????... btw... The Hospital called and Hubbys last test is next Monday, so we will see if he has any blockage to the heart. Hope all is well and he can get back to work, he's driving me nuts! ,lol...later... and have a great day!!
celeste5 5/7/2014 10:24:29 AM Report

Good morning everyone.

It was windy outside,
A sign of rain,
I`ll wait around here for a while,
Do some cleaning, still getting a workout.

I was told once, another sign of rain,
is when the leaves turn over,
Anyone hear that?
Don`t remember if that`s a particular tree or all of them.
irishfey 5/7/2014 10:43:31 AM Report

Celeste... I think that would be the Willow Tree. I have a piece of the branch ( store bought with the story behind it ) attached to the house. It's about a foot and a half long and when the branch rises up, means good weather, and when it bends down, poor weather comong in... it works!! We can learn so much from the trees, birds etc.... Funny how Nature is smarter than us ,lol...
irishfey 5/7/2014 10:47:17 AM Report

Just checked the branch, it's starting to point up ... get out while the gettings good ,lol......
celeste5 5/7/2014 10:53:31 AM Report

Yes, we learn from nature,
And the Natives.

Going for a bike ride now, Thanks.

mallet 5/7/2014 11:08:32 AM Report

Morning Folks...

Not a bad day out here, a little more cloud than yesterday and the breeze has got up a bit but otherwise quite nice...

Bounder.. Some open water today, not a lot but at least that means if it gets really windy it will break up really fast now... I reckon we are about 6 or seven weeks behind this year...

Irishfey... I am no where near the Goulais River, I live on the South shore of Batchawana Bay, I only see the river when I go over the bridge on the way to town...When I look out my front there is nothing but water between me and Thunder Bay...

Celeste.. being a bit of a country boy I always heard if you see cows lying down that was a sign of rain, don't wish to funny but this time of the year hard to see any leaves let along seeing them turn upside down.

You all get outside there and enjoy the sun while it lasts...
irishfey 5/7/2014 11:15:23 AM Report

Fly and Wickett.. I agree, the B.R is for news comments, so i will try to start it off and keep my hugs in here :) Things like the " coffee " posts etc. can be brought over here as well and let the B.R. be for the news. The R.R might get more comments this way also, but has to stay nice in here, same as the B.R,, the term "morons and such should be directed at the the political parties lol etc. and not at other posters!.. Deal???... Anyone else ok with this????
Just Curious 5/7/2014 11:25:18 AM Report

Irish; 4 out of 8 posts on here so far makes me think your pills have already kicked in...LOL..

Sir Muttly's cranky so I assume he's well, hope yours is too.

Celeste; Haven't rode a bike in a long time but rode to the lumber yard and back(2kround trip) and now accept the fact I'm not used to it. Rode there again this morning thinking it wouldn't be so bad...Wrong again..Think it will be a while before I ride to Hiawatha, like maybe after I get an Ebike...LOL..
irishfey 5/7/2014 11:29:24 AM Report

J.C... I hear ya. These sites can be addicting and the time spent in here does take a folk away from doing other things. I myself might just try and pop in to say good morning and such as i want to get out more too and enjoy the summer and " get my work done!" ,lol... Please don't leave us altogether, i still have to track you down this summer with that wine and cabbage rolls i owe you :)... Stuff to do today so will ne back on to say goodnight..... Mallet.. I'm still waiting for the trees to show their leaves so i'll know where to put my garden...... later...
Wicket 5/7/2014 12:04:34 PM Report

irishfey, on a wet and drizzly day, take the time to go waaaay back into the archives and read. Sootoday created the RR so that we would stop posting in the BR. We had a great group, lots of fun, lots of info, cyber coffee, birthday cakes, took good care of each other. Funerals, arrival of new babies, trips were shared; Ssummer barbeques (for real) and other socials were held. Sadly, I am the only one left of the group, although 2-3 do post about every two months or so.
irishfey 5/7/2014 12:05:16 PM Report

J.C.. yep, don't take long for the pills to kick in ,wish my body would ,lol.. Glad that Scruffy is cranky, means he's still alive ,... going off now,, really! ,lol... Later
bounder 5/7/2014 12:18:07 PM Report

Celest5 yup a willow tree turns it's leaves over and a few others also just before it rains. Irish I have the same branch now for 6 years and still works like magic. Mallet the wind just pushed the ice out towards the Sandy Island this morning, peace and quite gone, waves lapping at the shore line now.
irishfey 5/7/2014 2:40:46 PM Report

Wickett.. That sounded like really great times, i wish i was in here at that point. Do you think that maby with everyones help we can get to that spot again? I myself would love it!! I have noticed that though before that some from the Blue Room and even others in here have said some not so nice things. Did you have that problem back then?? A few times i have been accused of bringing my " dirty linen " to the B.R., but was only after i had been insulted in here for some dumb excuse, and then and only then did i bring it to the other side as i wanted to keep this site nice. I feel like Celeste does and i don't like strife but if you don't respond to it i feel like i'm being a coward on the matter and strike back, but try in a nice way.. sometimes :) Why do folk seem to want to feel the need to insult others???.... I never had a computer that long and it was my Son that hooked me up with it so we could talk while he was at work. I went from e-mil to fb and then here. Sometimes i'd like to ditch the whole thing as you said was true. we spend too much time on it and other things don't get done. It is addicting!! I am going to try and limit myself though like J.C.. I won't go away completely as it's strange but i feel like i have some friends in here.... I can only hope that this site will go back to what it was a long time ago......
irishfey 5/7/2014 2:49:19 PM Report

bounder... What is your stick at now? Mine is way up but it sure is chilly out there.. even the house feels chilly with the woodstove going and all, hope it's not just me coming down with something again!.... CELESTE are you back from your bike ride? I hope you didn't freeze! I guess that " stick" just means it's not going to rain ,lol.... JUST CURIOUS.... Do you still plan on camping out at Bells Point, or was it the other one. If so,, that would be a great meeting place to drop off your goodies this summer and meet Scruffy...... later.....
irishfey 5/7/2014 3:34:39 PM Report

Even though the topic in the B.R has been about guns and knives it seems to have bought in new posters concerned about saftey measures and their stories. Nice to see.
bounder 5/7/2014 3:41:13 PM Report

Irish mine is curled right up same as yours and the house feels chilly, stove will be lit later.
celeste5 5/7/2014 3:51:00 PM Report

I didn`t go very far on the bike,
I was chilly, it was too windy.
I did hold my belly in though, LOL.

Just Curious

Wouldn`t a moped/scooter,
Be better than an E-Bike?
mallet 5/7/2014 4:01:19 PM Report

If you go up to the "trading post" up near Batchawana, they have a rock there that tells you what the weather is like..All my relatives from the U K like a ride up and have their photo taken...
irishfey 5/7/2014 4:02:33 PM Report

bounder, good to know that it's not just me ,I had the stove going all day!.... CELESTE.. good for you, at least you did something today.... I'm not even dressed yet! I have been sitting here posting of how i'm not going to be posting that much anymore!,lol,lol... Gee , addicted ya think ?... That's it, i'm outa here!!.. Have a good night all :)
mallet 5/7/2014 4:04:59 PM Report

An "E" bike as long as it has peddles does not need licence, insurance etc, if you get have a scooter with a engine then all the requirements of the Highway Traffic Act kicks in, and that makes it expensive!!!
celeste5 5/7/2014 4:29:56 PM Report

I sure didn`t think about the cost.
I even read about those E-bikes,
On Sootoday and some people were,
Bitching about them.

Well, I`m having a light meal,
Whitefish, salad and a baked potatoe.
If we have a lot of rain this summer,
I`ll have to watch what I eat.
mallet 5/7/2014 4:32:34 PM Report

We shall not be seeing Norwich Play Leicester in the Premier, Sunderland having won has relegated City to the Championship, maybe in a couple of years...

I know it is a silly, but true cliche.. people kill people, the tool just makes it easier. I have never ever seen a gun get up and shoot someone, I have never seen a knife kill anyone, or a baseball bat, hammer or any inanimate object, there always has to be a human hand behind it. Legally you cannot go buy a handgun solely for the purpose of home/personal defense in Canada. You can if you say you are a licensed trapper or a collector. You cannot "booby trap" your home with any device that could be lethal to an invader, I know it seems that the law is on the side of the criminal, but that is the way it is set up.
celeste5 5/7/2014 4:53:24 PM Report

No, I didn`t forget the S on potatoe,
I only had one small potato, LOL.
irishfey 5/7/2014 6:23:44 PM Report

No, i'm not back ,lol.. Just popped downstairs to throw some laundry in.... MALLETT... yes you're right on all accounts. Sooo , does that mean barbed wire and Geese are out??, Shoot! i mean as in.. darn! " ,lol .. Geese make better watchdogs than dogs, but not as cuddley ,... Night again ...
mallet 5/7/2014 8:30:23 PM Report

You are showing your age there Irish... Barbed wire indeed... it has been Razor wire for quite some time now. You have to get Hi Tech nowadays, and have CCTV, that's not Bell by the way.. but I am still a little old fashioned I like the old bramble bushes, people don't like trying to get through them and a cattle gate, electric kind.. And of course the nice little note in the window on the door, informing anyone that these premises are monitored by the three nice gentlemen, four days a week and you choose which days, messrs smith wesson and ruger, are not here..
