I think That when all is said and done I kinda admire Andrea for breaking with tradition. There is no way that anyone can get any kind of real idea of what exactly the budget contains in 20 minutes. Taking a couple of days to actually read it and then make a statement is the smart thing to do. And I think Wynne shot herself in the foot with the deadline thing. Makes you think they want an election. It's just a shame that we will be out millions of dollars and still wind up with a minority government, no matter who wins.

The Ontario budget was designed I think, to appeal to NDP concerns in an effort to hold onto power. It provided extra taxes on the wealthy, smokers and airline customers, extra funding for infrastructure, hospitals, school programs, school repairs, etc. A dream budget for the NDP!
At the same time it was designed to prod the Conservatives into opposing it by virtue of the fact that it would increase Ontario's debt by another $12.5B next year to a staggering total of $281.7B. In other words, Wynne was giving away money for these programs that she didn't actually have. A sure fire winner for criticism from fiscal conservatives.
Well, she got the criticism from the PCs but didn't get the expected support from the NDP. Voters have been clamoring for a chance to get rid of one of the most financially corrupt provincial governments we've had in decades, so we'll now see whether they really meant it.

Spending money we do not have, hoping that industry returns to this province, but knowing that they would need cheaper Hydro to attract those businesses?? How about the SSC Chief Justice saying one thing and the PM and PMO and Justice Minister saying something different, your truth, my truth, and the real truth??. statusquo, the liberals, not the premier, the party, gamble with the elections because they know they are gonna win a minority and be in a much better position.
Be prepared though for a dollar 0.80 to 0.84 for Canada to be competitive and that could bring jobs.
The liberals with their budget were planning a bail out of the unfunded pension funds.
That has to end.
In the other hand, Hudak could have an agenda against the unions and that could be a scare for people to vote cons.
The liberals may have arrived to a conclusion using the wrong calculator, but in my view they believe they can hold to power.
