Morning Folks..

What a dull miserable looking day, supposed to get another winter storm, just hope and pray it misses..

At least it is above the zero mark, but i am going to do a little job on the tractor, and I am NOT taking the blower off until I see bare ground everywhere..

TGIF and all I have to do is go get the paper and mail.. Hopefully, keeping the fingers crossed my home town soccer team can win the next two games...and avoid relegation...
irishfey 4/4/2014 10:13:09 AM Report

Good morning everyone.

It was nice of you guys to welcome the new poster in the blue room,
Thanks for given him that information about the rats ass, it made me laugh.

My daughter in-laws coffee pot wouldn't work this morning, so I had to boil water and take the coffee out of the packet, than I had to use a sifter, still too much grains, so I poured the coffee over a tissue, good to go.

What's the matter with everyone this bright sunny spring morning?
No smiles and all gloom.
Just kidding. Rain, freezing rain and high winds.....what a great day to sit inside and watch it all through the windows. Even the dog is depressed because she hasn't been out for her morning walk...too slippery to be safe.
Glad I don't have be on the roads today.
But this too shall pass....I hope soon.
Have a safe day and stay off the ice folks.
DutchTouch 4/4/2014 12:15:27 PM Report

Frozen pellets are hitting the windows now.
How is the snow situation up your way mallet?
Our son (on his day off work) was planning to move his fishing hut from Abitibi today.
He'll probably need to do it another day.
Watch that ice.
DutchTouch 4/4/2014 1:03:46 PM Report

Where is everyone?
Out slipping and sliding around I guess.
Latest up date.
I live on one of the highest points in Algoma and we've had it all so far today.
Not much to do but watch the weather.
Spring is around the corner.....I promise. But don't ask which corner. ;)

Dutch touch

Yes, you would think, we would have more posts with this slippery, snowy, winter weather.
Just Curious 4/4/2014 1:39:44 PM Report

Celeste; When I was semi-homeless last summer and living in a friends tent trailer at Ojibway, at the outset I bought the basics to get started including drip coffee. When I set the trailer up, lo and behold, there was no coffee maker. As my resources were limited(I was stone-broke)and I couldn't afford to go get instant I made do. I took a plastic cup, bored a hole in the bottom, stuffed a coffee filter in it(they were in the trailer, thank goodness, as I had also forgot that detail). I put a teaspoon of coffee in the filter and poured hot water in it until the cup below was full. It actually worked well after a bit of experimenting to get the right consistency and I used that method for over 2 months before I found a cheap small coffee maker. When times demand it, you make do with what you have...:)...

DutchTouch 4/4/2014 2:18:32 PM Report

soowat and bounder.....thanks for the laff. Got a real blizzard going here.
Dog still me "the look". :0
mallet 4/4/2014 2:47:28 PM Report

Dutch and Bounder...

I think there is a good 10 cm on the ground out here now and it is still coming down.. I have not heard how their icebreaking is going but I cannot see if there is any shipping moving, unless the sun shines and the temps go about the zero mark I think they will be delayed a little longer.

However on the bright side it does look all nice and clean and christmassy out here with the tree branches all covered in snow.. GRrrrr Ahhh.
Brietsy 4/4/2014 2:47:39 PM Report

This weather...

There are all kinds of references I could make to certain things.

Just assume I compared it to something that just wouldn't go away. Use your imagination.
irishfey 4/4/2014 4:19:50 PM Report

We are all getting.. GRRRR, because we know that Spring is coming, the rain proved that. It"s just not coming fast enough is all,, just give it another couple of weeks.... It will be here!!!!..... Maby do our Spring cleaning now, so were all set for Summer???.. Ha, Ha,, you can"t hit me through here ,lol... My cold has gone to me head ,lol....
DutchTouch 4/4/2014 4:35:18 PM Report

mallet....I can see the shipping channel from here but it will be a while before the freighters start coming through. Ice breakers are having a hard time.
Doggie is a happy camper after she got my sympathy and I took her out for about 1/2 an hour.
Very wet and slushy but not cold. I actually enjoyed our outing.
Still feeding flocks of birds and a couple of black squirrels. It's a zoo around here.
Don't overdo the shovelling.
This is heart attack weather.
Bobby Nerves 4/4/2014 6:52:11 PM Report

My Dear Mallet:

I drove by yesterday and noticed you'd procrastinated so pretext of the needed fire wood and other trifles, therefore, your back yard is showing the dogs piles here and there.

As I always think of you, I wanted to help and give a coat of white for you to enjoy watching it.

Hope your are enjoying it all.

Have a quite evening.

The Pig.

Bobby N..

Nah, you didn't, there would be tracks if you had... and you lay off my wood pile and shed...
Bobby Nerves 4/4/2014 7:48:39 PM Report

Check by the wire fence, you'll see the Schweinshaxe.
mallet 4/4/2014 8:32:29 PM Report

Bobby N.

You are so full of bovine excretia and staying polite may I suggest you go sexual intercourse yourself. You will really have to improve your English if you want to try an insult a Limey. I shall be coming into town on the 17th, may i suggest a coffee somewhere... always assuming the road is open!!!
Wicket 4/4/2014 11:59:23 PM Report

Mallet, Irishfey and Just Curious - was thinking of all of you when I read the story in the news feed about Bishop's dog who went through the ice on the St Mary's river and the rescue that occurred. If you haven't read the story, please do, a feel good story instead of all the crap that usually happens in the news.
