Morning Friends... Crisp morning out there and a little brrr. Taking me pal to the Vet. today and might have to make a tough decission, one that I"m not sure i could handle, but will just have to leave it up to God and find my strength in Him... I can " talk the talk",, but can i " walk the walk"???.. Not so sure about that. I know the day is coming, but,, please.. not today!.. Anyway.. Thank you all for the well wishes, and as i said,, if i"m not on tonight, it just means that it didn"t go well... Have a great day.. and God bless....

I was just reading in the Blue Room,
And Rightwing said, you post like you speak and that`s what I liked about you too, you remind of my father sometimes.
I think I told you that before.

Morning Folks..

Having done just that myself I can feel for you. Just when cleaning up and finding some of her hair brings a lump to my throat, it still hurts, but it was best for her, and that was all that mattered, and it is the same for your little pooch..

It was nice to see it all white and clean this morning, but I could do without that sight anymore, I am tired of it. And the wind can stop being so cruel as well. The gentleman who was on Tv last nights news saying how the lake being frozen over was good for the fish, Sir a good Bronx Cheer or a raspberry to you.

You all take care out there it could be very slippery under that nice clean white blanket of white shite.

;) :).. Back home with my Pal!!!!.. Turns out he has a large Perianal abscess and some smaller ones around his anal area, that were bleeding and some pus, that was causing an infection ( bad stinky smell too). The Dr. cleaned the area and gave me some antibiotic cream for now but he will need some surgery to get rid of them. She took blood tests to see if his heart and liver were going to be up to it. Will know the outcome tomorrow. He is in No pain and the Dr. said he is in good shape for his age and would be a shame to put him down if he can have the surgery that would cost between 3-4 hundred. We can mannage that and it will give us a few more years with him.... It does still depend on the boodwork though, If it comes back that there will be a danger to him, then i will just have to let him go. If he don"t get the surgery, he may " bleed out" and that would be painful and deadly for him, so we are going for the surgery as long as the tests come back ok... I have to buy him some sort of a diaper to wear in the house so he don"t get infected till he has the surgery... anyone know where to buy these things?.. Going to town tomorrow to try and find some... My Pal sleeps quite a bit but otherwise acts like a 5 yr. old when he"s awake, so we are going to go with the surgery and keep him as long as we can. He shows no kind of pain so trust me when i say that if he did, i would have let him go today,, I was ready for it, but God had other plans :).. Still not out of the woods yet, will see what the test results are first... Again.. Thank you all so much for your prayers and concern.. meant a great deal to me... now, we are both going to have a well deserved nap ,lol...Later xoxoxo

Hello Irishfey. My thoughts have been with you since I learned of the dilemma with your pal. I'm glad there is hope for him/her. Too bad the vet's costs are so high.
I would have more pets if it wasn't for the high cost of vets. I think they perform way more medical procedures than are necessary. The charges are outrageous.
All the best with your pal.

That is wonderful news. It is probably curable and you have made all the correct decisions and were prepared for all possibilities. Keep us posted on results.

Glad to hear that a recovery is possible. Hope your pooch is easy to give pills to, not many of mine wants to take pills except one brand of antibiotics, and with those watch your fingers!!!

Irishfey, glad to hear your news today, hopefully the bloodwork comes back ok and the surgery is a go...take care
irishfey 4/2/2014 6:03:55 PM Report

Hi all... That wee nap did us both good. I found out a few things today at the Vets. A male dog that isn"t fixed will most likely get those Perianal abscesss" later on in life. We just never saw the need as he didn"t go out much on his own. Another thing is that if your dog gets a cut or bruise etc. it is safe to put polysporin or ozonol (?),lol... on it. Mallet..I have the antiboitic cream for him, not pills. It is easy to give a dog a pill though, all you do is stick the pill in a piece of a weiner... ummmm, never mind, forget i said that ,lol,lol..jk...... anyway, thanks again for all your posts, but i will say this... After me pal goes, that"s it for me with pets, It"s too heartbreaking and yes, the Vet. bills are costly... having supper then an early night of snuggles.... Bless you all....
