Happy to see that Just Curious has his little friend back.

Congratulations to Celeste's grandson's hockey team for their win and to him for scoring the winning goal. Nice of his dad to acknowledge the win with his green hair.

Good morning everyone.

Thank You, the kids were so happy.
My grandson and another player brought the trophy over to where we were sitting.
The last tournament they won three games and lost, they were all upset, so they really wanted this win.

Actually, my daughter inlaw showed that pic of my son`s green hair to her son before the game, that must of pumped him and his team mates up because she showed the pic to them all.

Just found that out.

How many ice-shacks do you have?
Did you do good with the fishing?

Morning All..

Nice to see the sun again, but man that snow yesterday was heavy and wet... plow came along after we had gone to town and filled the neighbours driveway, couldn't blow it out just had to push it to one side...

Lots of soccer today, must win situation for my home town team...a little clear of the relegation zone but some hard matches at the end of the season against the top teams...

Enjoy the weekend and mind those potholes under the puddles...

With the amount of ice there is on the lakes and bays I think they could stay a little longer. I am sure there is little danger of them floating away for quite a while... This is where I have mixed feelings about the various ministries, fixed times for doing things like the removal of ice huts should depend on local conditions not some rules made by the minister down in Toronto...

Celest5, yes I did really well fishing with the shacks , two of them, one is much bigger enough for four people and the other is for two people.

Mallet the ice is reported at being , can you believe at 17 ft where the wind keeps the snow off. Around Maple Island and the Sandy Island 4 ft plus, the stuff is going to be here till July.
We should leave them on for a while but when the snow gets to soft, makes it harder to pull the shacks off.

Plus who needs the shacks anymore? Sun is nice.
DutchTouch 3/29/2014 2:52:11 PM Report

Up on Abitibi the shacks don't have to come off the ice until April 8 but as bounder says this weather makes it sloppy and slushy so it's best to pull them off sooner than later.
mallet 3/29/2014 2:59:06 PM Report

Bounder and Dutch..

I agree in the afternoon it tends to get a little slushy, but first thing in the mornings it still "crunches" underfoot and i don's see many days the temps overnight are going to be warm and balmy.. Dutch nice to keep out of that wind though... still a little brisk, fresh, cool at times...
bounder 3/29/2014 6:14:16 PM Report

Two words I don't like, mild, warm.
