Yes poluck, let's keep the optimism.
There is something in the climate in this part of the world that many can't appreciate, and it's the chances of having spring tomorrow morning.
The sun is hot already and as soon as the polar wind goes back to it's normal swirl, we should be dandy.
I'd polished the convertible and the dog is ready for a ride, then we'll visit Mallet and enjoy watching him shoveling snow.

Yesterday's comments put me in mind of that Bob Dylan tune--"Times they are a changin'"You know---"the line it is drawn, the curse it is cast---the first one now will later be last"Enough said.
One particular incident however went almost un-noticed in the war of words and should be addressed.
We have a guy who stops his Jeep in the middle of a busy intersection, jumps out, and confronts another driver because of a perceived driving violation.
What if the Mercedes driver had a handgun and popped the guy? This was clearly a case of extreme road rage.
The cell-phone user should have been reported--nothing more.Had the laws happened upon an empty jeep at a busy intersection, the Jeep driver would have been charged with something for sure.
Maturity is a hard won trait and some people never attain it.

Yes David, that's the miracle of life.
Kids, don't they surprise you often with those simple answers, there is a magic touch in it.
We're born good, simple and loving creatures, but we grow fast, many can preserve that simplicity, others became predators and go around spreading their hate. And that sentiment has no racial, religious, skin color or frontiers. You can find it "lurking" anywhere.
Just Curious 3/21/2014 8:08:39 AM Report
Wild Turkey, I would take that story with a grain of salt.. If you keep up with Bad Dawg's posts he's always on about something like that or doing away with break and enter punks. Apparently he has this jeep with humungous tires and he feels like he's 10 ft tall. We only have his word that this actually happened. I'm more surprised that the car driver didn't call the cops on him if it did, I know I would have. I think he's more bluff and bluster than he is balls, really...:)..

Oh great....now I can't get this song out of my head. More tenacious than the Juicy Fruit jingle.

Wise--just a wild guess--here goes--politicians are not economists. They read the balance sheets and proclaim--"that deficit isn't mine--it's the last guys".Next time around, they stick the other guys deficit in a ledger, and start fresh, saying the new budget will be balanced .The old deficit becomes part of The National Debt which was incurred equally by all parties.Don't recall any of them ever saying they'll get rid of the National Debt, but many say they will get rid of the deficit. Thus, every new budget starts out balanced.Who balanceit?Simple--itbalanced itself.

The 5th. and final takeaway of the Supreme Court's decision on Nadon as a Harper choice for the High Court. redranger raised an interesting issue about the comparative nature of "badness" between Phelps and the evangelical group. I always considered Phelps to be the epitome of evil, but he did no more than "spit" venom. I guess he's as wicked as Biblical Fundamentalists get in western countries. The Taliban shot two children in the head (and we all know about their other assaults)so I guess I would consider them more evil. We've seen some of the attacks on this site which are clearly directed at a person and, in some cases, family and done with just insinuation and malice. I guess that falls as a sub-heading under Phelps. I am not innocent, but never try to involve family or play on information that I have gained by hearsay that others don't have.

As per experts, there is nothing out of normal, with the exception that those are not the expressions between AirTrafficControl and cockpit, and that's why the last salutation: All right Good Night could have been Roger that. The other thing suspicious is contact Hu Chi Min the Hu is rare. Further from a pilot point of view you do not take 5 minutes to answer. Someone that understand this exchange said the captain is the driver and the first official is the radio operator and once the AC is on cruse speed/altitude (35,000') the captain goes for a nature call and the first official drives the AC. If it's a suicide, this is the moment the FO locks the cockpit door and depressurized the cabin and he's with an oxygen mask and probably that's why he goes down to below 20K'. At that time all passengers and crew are rip and he flies the AC to the deepest ocean in the world, a trench of 3.2 km deep in the south indian ocean.
The other possibility is hypoxia, around the same time the cargo bay got in fire and burnt the wiring between the transponder, avionics and cockpit, as the transponder is just below the front cargo bay, where probably the cargo of batteries were. From then on, the plane flew in AP till it run out of gas and finally ditches somewhere.
Read this about hypoxia if you think it's highly unlikely:

Exactly. It is called decorum. Something Phelps never had. He was an a_shole and I am glad he is dead. Really glad.
But he was a joke compared with the Taliban and that is because of circumstance and setting.
I firmly believe that nobody is born with hate in their hearts . Folks are moulded and raised to hate. Not necessarily by design but rather due to cosmic circumstance.
Look at the shenanigans going on in here day after day, and I have to admit, I am one of the worst offenders, but I don't carry a "death hate". I see inane comments i.e "bounderisms, "hunteranigans" or "steelesque" grunts and I can't help but fire back and watch 'em come back with predictable dull responses followed by the ubiquitous "LOL".
But I would never get more personal then calling someone an idiot if he/she truly deserved it.
The folks I have nominated have earned that title all on their own .
