That is the beauty of being centrist. You can take the best of all ideas and use them. Something wrong with that concept when you are locked in to the fringes, both right and left. Mulcair is claiming that Trudeau stole his idea, but Mulcair had no Senators to dis-associate himself from. Harper is knocking Trudeau for the move, but is presenting no ideas himself. And to do the same as Trudeau, he becomes a follower, when he is supposed to be the leader.
Pawn takes queen!!!

Good morning. What a beautiful day. Anyway, has anyone read "As I see it" by Mr. Headrick. Good reading. He says it as it is. The Liberal Senators are now called "Independent Liberal Senators", but will still keep their funding. All it is is just a change of name, nothing else. Mr. Trudeau is just making sure that when the Senate audit comes down he can say "We don't have Liberal Senators", that's a lot of b.s. as my uncle would say. Take the time to read it.

I've been living in a country relatively independent in the world context. There is a democracy of two parties and many other small intentions. The power is divided in Legislative, Executive and Judicial. The Legislature has the two chambers, upper and lower and it runs kin that way since 1810. The democratic process was interrupted far too many times, always under the pretext of making it better and then it transformed in a Dictatorship. From time to time, the people elected someone who they liked, usually a center left leader, only to became a Tyrant.
Tyrants, as bloody as they can be, kept the Legislative, it didn't work for the people, but it was there. Dictatorships in the other hand, jailed everyone, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Fortunately for all readers, I don't think any of you had to keep her/his opinions or her/his beliefs for themselves for fear to be reported to the political police.
We are in a much advance society and our risk of a dictatorship or a tyranny are nil, but eliminating the Senate is not a good step, democratically speaking.
Ideally, an elected Senate will be the way to go.

Chief nodded in agreement.
The official continued, "considering all these events ,in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong"?
The Chief stared at the official then replied "when white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, medicine man was free.

Ontario's debt doubled under 10 years of Liberal rule to $272.8 billion, which cost $10.6 billion this year just to pay the interest, said CTF director Candice Malcolm.

I am sure those Limeys will appreciate having dry feet for a while, and the celebs and others will be able to go to the karzee and flush again... This idea will provide plenty of work, both sides of that salty pond, and they (the yanks) can put a off pipe to the mississippi and wont need to flich our water any more from the great lakes... and to appease the enviromentalists damn up the the Chicago sewage canal and solve the Asian carp problem once and for all...
