Well folks, mighty entertaining day in the blue room yesterday, wasn't it?
bounder 1/30/2014 6:20:42 AM Report

New blood, very entertaining. The only thing id the verbal insult, not to much intelligence on most conversations.
Kinda my way or the highway type mentality.
Jimssm 1/30/2014 6:49:39 AM Report

I think I'll hide in here for the day, if that's ok with you guys.
Pink Peony 1/30/2014 7:02:00 AM Report

Good morning. Yesterday was very entertaining indeed.
Bobby Nerves 1/30/2014 7:05:44 AM Report

New blood? Same old ...

Do you know about the three stages of alcohol intoxication?

Let's talk about about something that may concern others.
Pink Peony 1/30/2014 7:11:01 AM Report

I agree with you bounder.
celeste5 1/30/2014 8:23:46 AM Report

Good morning everyone.

Yes, it was very amusing in the Blue Room yesterday.
Did anyone take note as to how many post were made by the New blood and how many replies he got.
He sure did stir it up and there hasn`t been that many postings for awhile.

T-rat 1/30/2014 10:04:21 AM Report

Morning all. Do get out and enjoy this lull in the weather, even if just to stand in your driveway and breathe deeply without it hurting from the extreme cold.

Have to agree with comments on that other 'room'. It really does become the theatre of the absurd day after day. There is no reasoning with anybody. Commenters are totally polarized in their views and no matter your point of view, you are labeled.

As far as the new blood, my only comment would be dust2: -- TO DUST! Amen.
mallet 1/30/2014 10:23:58 AM Report

Good Morning Folks..

Polarization I suppose would be one word, I could use others however, but I try not to get that excited, bad for the heart they tell me...

So it is a little better, well much better, at least the dogs don't have to keep moving while having a slash today, unfortunately that may come with a price, that my aching back may not want to pay, after yesterdays little snowplow passes. In all the years I have been out here I have never seen it done that way, in the past, they would cut the top off the banks and make a path the snowmobiles used, this time they tried to move the who bank back in one swoop, will have to wait and see how that works out..

You all have a nice day out there, and have sympathy for our poor neighbours to the south who are really suffering from 5CMs of snow
irishfey 1/30/2014 1:08:31 PM Report

Afternoon friends... have been putting it off, but i have to go out today,,warmer though. Anyone have a heart attack in the blue room last night?? ,lol... Celeste.. think that dust2 has the "gift?",lol Sure stirred up a lot of folk ,lol... Jimssm.. too hot over there even for you? ,lol...later folks...
irishfey 1/30/2014 1:17:41 PM Report

Spelly.. when did Bobby become a Preacher? ,lol.. Does he have ...Dr. .. in front of his name???.. just courious, lol
T-rat 1/30/2014 2:39:00 PM Report

Mallet: just walked up the driveway to see how things look at the road and I was quite pleased with the results. Those tall and dangerous snowbanks have been cut down. I can now pull out onto the road safely because I can see clearly in both directions, and any heavy snow deposited in the driveway entrance was also cleared out of the way. All in all, good job.

Meant to ask if you had some particular sway with the sportscasters on MCTV. Past few nights they've been showing results of UK football games. Love the clip in the Man U vs Tottenham game when the Man U player tried for an academy award dive that would put a lot of hockey players to shame. Got a penalty shot and goal out of it though.

Bobby Nerves 1/30/2014 2:48:30 PM Report

Mallet, OK, I'd removed the pins from all the dolls.

If the Greyhounds take the podium at the end of the season, I'll do the "Dancing naked and looking good" on the ice, between games.

Please, stop the darn white staff
Bobby Nerves 1/30/2014 2:53:23 PM Report

irishfey... my dear; since about the same time He got His English Major.

mallet 1/30/2014 3:00:54 PM Report

Did you mean the Manchester City Tottenham game yesterday where Man City won 5 one???..
The sports channels have been showing a lot of games during the week, however that was because of the F A cup games last saturday.. and the fixtures are moved to accommodate that series..
They return to normal saty and sunday games this weekend February First..

They did a fair job on the banks but as I said they normally, in the past. have winged back the tops leaving a smoth area for skidoos, and also allows for them to put the snow up onto the banks keeping the road width better. What happens when they don't do that is that you get a lot of snow/ice balls falling down the slopes into the road, which with todays cars being a lot of plastic/fibreglass, cold makes for brittle parts which damage easily when having to hit those large snowballs..
On one side of my drive I can move the snow back to give me a better view, but on the other side I have a hydro pole and a very deep ditch and no verge to move snow away at the moment.. i would like to have those ditchs filled up as they serve no purpose and were made so as to build up the road bed when it was first put in. I cannot keep them clear of brush without doing by hand whereas if the were filled I could just mow them...
irishfey 1/30/2014 3:13:32 PM Report

Am still working up my nerve to go out ,lol Oh well, gotta do it.. here goes ,lol.. later
mallet 1/30/2014 3:48:55 PM Report

Sorry, it is all your fault, wishing hemiroids on the dancers and then sticking pins in them, you really REALLY T'eed them off, and now we all have to suffer for your actions. All I can say to you is glad your plow is broke and may you run out of shear pins...
mallet 1/30/2014 3:50:59 PM Report

Looks like we shall be out with the shovels again tomorrow at the rate this is coming down, and it's all that Bobby N's fault, he wished ill on the snowdancers for Bon Soo and now we have to suffer for it...
Jimssm 1/30/2014 5:02:54 PM Report

I don't mind friendly banter in the blue room, but the insults get too much.

There is no need to treat people that way, just because they can hide behind their keyboards.

...having said that, I did use the word 'jerk' in reference to dust2
T-rat 1/30/2014 5:30:27 PM Report

Mallet: apologies in my reference to Man U(nited). It indeed was Man City. Difference?

As to the shoveling tomorrow. Not a chance until it completely stops with no wind. That why the auto gods gave us all-wheel and 4-wheel drive. My only shoveling is to remove the drift from in front of the shed door to get the tractor out.
Bobby Nerves 1/30/2014 6:21:10 PM Report

Hi Mallet, thank you for your comfort.

Lately, I don't know what can hurt me more... if my friends with their best intentions or my enemies with their worst.

Statusquo, a non believer, no faith and BS man, he was very kind to fix my plow. He not only fix the plow, but guided me on how to save money with the replacement parts.

Kudos to Statusquo.

I honestly hope the highway gets closed for the rest of the winter just at 4th. Line.

It's always a pleasure having friends like you.

With my best intentions...
irishfey 1/30/2014 6:22:22 PM Report

Well, i did it and am back home to stay homebound again ,lol..Jimssm,, don"t sweat the small stuff as they say ,lol.. Sometimes things and folk just get carried away and get a wee upset when others don"t agree with their opinion, i"m guilty of that as well, i just try and hide my feelings but sometimes it"s hard to do... heck, i"v gone to bed the odd time with tears in me eyes, then i laugh and think,, they don"t know me so what the heck ,lol, but one has to have a strong constitution to put up with some of the things said and that"s pretty much why i try and stay away from that room as much as i can,, sometimes i get dragged back into it, but if me feelings get hurt, then it"s me own doing. Come here in the Red room from time to time, it"s a nice friendly place to be and the folks care about each other... nice place to hide ,lol.... later friends...

mallet or celest5, can either of you tell me if diet pop affects your blood sugar ie high the next morning?
mallet 1/30/2014 8:26:12 PM Report

I think it depends on a lot of factors of the individual. For myself I only drink diet as an ordinary cola has about 10/12 teaspoons of sugar in them, or so they say. As for the aspartame in diet there are many theories regarding that, but I don't seem to have a problem with it. depending on my B G at night, depends how much insulin I take and that affects what my B G in the morning is like. I try to make sure it stays in the single didgets but sometimes not...
Bobby Nerves 1/30/2014 8:37:29 PM Report

lowla, I'm not a diabetic, but if you are capable of taking an advise. Any beverage will have an artificial sugar substitute, most likely corn syrup.

As in cigarettes, cold cuts, prepared foods and any other product in that field, no one knows the formula, because it's secret.

Do not trust the report of contents in the white chart on one side of the products because often times it's made to accommodate the legislation.

I believe Stevia is one of the most "natural" sweeteners.

Why don't you try lemon juice with water and stevia, I know it's a lemonade, but it's more a sort of a natural substitute.

In the other hand, sweeteners have a sort of secondary effects, all of them in one way or another.

My opinion and I hope you get well soon.
Pink Peony 1/30/2014 8:52:17 PM Report

lowla, diet pop should not raise your bg. If you wake up with a high bg, it is possible that you may have had a low while you were sleeping. Your liver kicks in and releases stored glycogen which results in a high bg.
sparks7 1/30/2014 11:00:40 PM Report
