Good Sunny Cold Morning.

It's nice to see the sunny on one hand , however freezing the cojones off on the other is not so good!!! I guess our leaders forgot to pay the heating bill,,, again... They changed to name to Climate Change... global warming didn't seem suitable when it's 40 below!!

Yep, dress up, Bounder, to go get the wood in for the fire, at least I can warm my backside afterwards...

Not that many ice huts out at Haviland this year, don't know if it's the cost or lack of will to go there there, the guy at the store gave up renting them a year ago, not that good a financial venture I guess..

Remember skin can freeze quickly at these temps, bundle up if going out.... Have a great day and enjoy the sun.... if only behind the windows....

Yes sir a lil chilly today. My ol'girl snow blower wasn't too impressed this am either...but she still got the driveway done. Stay warm today boys & girls.

It's JANUARY guys, remember when January was, well, January?
It still beats the bugs and humidity in my books.
So don't wish it away too fast.
The days are getting noticeably longer and the sun stronger. It's just that darn ol' wind chill that keeps us from enjoying winter to the fullest.
My son has his fishing hut all set up on Lake Abitibi. It's the main event of the winter. Sometimes he and wifey spend the whole weekend out there with their dogs. Nice and cozy. ;)

Dutch...I totally agree. I would rather it be these temps rather then +30 and the humidex and then the bugs! You can always put on more clothes in the winter, but when it's hot and ya get to naked...well then there is nothing else left to take off! LOL
DutchTouch 1/20/2014 5:34:15 PM Report

Well hello there Phantom. At last, someone who feels the way I do about the winter/summer weather.
Anymore I dread the warmer months with the endless invation of bugs. Especially in June!
As far as I'm concerned it is the worst month of the year. I've developed allergies to sand flies and am not looking forward to them.
Even though I have always loved gardening and tending to my flower beds.....my joy in them has diminished greatly the last few years.
Therefore the winter months have more enjoyment for me since I love to be outdoors.
DutchTouch 1/20/2014 5:37:14 PM Report

Oops....invasion.
mallet 1/20/2014 7:26:02 PM Report

Dutch and phantom..

I don't mind a little below, but once it passes minus 10 I begin to think that's enough, we don't need it colder than that... As for heat, try the Sahara in August, but there are no bugs just desert flies and you don't sweat, strange as that may sound. But this minus 20/30/40 stuff starts to annoy the 40 years of impact tools I used... plus that other guy Arthur Ritus...
