Good morning to all of you.
It's a gorgeous day out there, just a sprinkle of snow to remind us that old man winter is here.
Take it easy and enjoy with others, pick up the phone and call someone that may need a chat with someone.

Grab a coffee here, have a seat and relax.

Good morning everyone.

Thanks, I `ll try The steel Oats, I never tried them yet and I do know their good for you.

Right now I have Short Bread Cookies in the oven for my grandson, it`s his birthday tomorrow.
He doesn`t have a sweet tooth but he likes these cookies.

Bobby Nerves 1/19/2014 10:31:31 AM Report

I'm finishing some overnight biscotti with a sicilian recipe about 100 years old.

I experimented with it four days ago and now I'm baking a good batch.

Morning All..

What can I say... More of that white s*&t, will it never stop??. At this rate the banks will still be here in june, but anyhow it is flurries, dull grey and windy...

This is going to be a rather lazy day, I think, my ambition has evaporated, so a good Clancy book which will take me a while to read, a coffee or two laced with rum and I shall not care what the weather does...

You all have a nice day out there...
celeste5 1/19/2014 10:55:04 AM Report

It`s must be cooking and baking day.
I have Double Peanut Butter Cookies in the oven.
These cookies only have 1/3 each of brown sugar and sugar.

There must be something my grandson likes, I`ll find it, LOL.
phantom 1/19/2014 12:02:58 PM Report

Yup...definatly a stay in and cook day. prepping a chicken for the oven with side dressing, mashed taters, gravy and veg.Who cares what the weather is when the house smells good like this!
phantom 1/19/2014 12:08:52 PM Report

mallet..if you enjoy Clancy(I have most of his books) you will like W.E.B. Griffin and Harold Coyle.
Grump 1/19/2014 12:13:44 PM Report

Mallet you old dog get to hell out there and clean up that nice new snow. It will be good for your sugar. lol
mallet 1/19/2014 12:37:15 PM Report

I cleared a path over to ny neighbours and mutual friend Larry yesterday...with the walk behind... and today i have a sore back... that little thaw we had froze a lot of the snow and made it hard work... getting past this sort of is a day of rest... or so the good lord said!!!
Grump 1/19/2014 12:51:16 PM Report

Mallet the Good Lord didn't say to lay around being slothful, sucking up coffee and rum or rum and coffee. lol. That said I'm glad you are taking care of Larry. Have a good day full of sloth.
irishfey 1/19/2014 12:57:10 PM Report

Morning Friends.. Yes , a stay at home and cookie day seems just right, but everyday here is cookie day for Hubby.. boy that Man loves his sweets! ,lol... Don"t know what i"m going to do yet, I slept in and missed Church but they do have a wee service at the Retirement Home here at 7pm.,, might pop in for that. Cold weather again for next week?? I think i might invest in one of those S.A.D. Lamps, has anyone tried them yet? It cost quite a bit so i"d like to know if it works first.....later...
celeste5 1/19/2014 1:47:57 PM Report

I don`t know anyone who has one of those lamps but in the meantime, if your drapes and curtains are always drawn, open them and let in as much light as you can, it`s suppose to help, cheaper too, LOL.

The lamp tricks your mind in thinking it`s spring or Summer and that makes you fell better.

Given someone a helping hand, that always makes us fell better.

Flowers are a natural mood lifter, they make us happy and put a smile on our face.

Buy yourself some flowers, whenever I got flowers I would clean more, moving around helps, I know you have stiffnes but, Just Do It, LOL.

Mistake, feel.

I have a couple of Coyle novels and he is not too bad, but I like Clancy the best, his novels have a degree of possibility about them that many others do not come close to. I got into him with his "red storm rising" the idea was so very near the possible...
phantom 1/19/2014 3:11:15 PM Report

mallet...ya can't beat Clancy for his realism but Coyle and Griffin are still good reads. Another amazing book is "Brothers In Arms" by(no kidding) Kareem Abdul-Jabar about the 1st all black tank battalion(761st) during WW2.
mallet 1/19/2014 4:12:37 PM Report

Yes, I have not read the book, but have seen a couple of tv docs regarding the Black Tank Regiment, who had to wait a long time to get the Presdential citation. I also liked the film and docs on the 332 fighter group which was made up of all black pilots, who were not said to be very agressive but did a amazing job escorting bombers, not losing any to enemy fighters... The film I believe was called "The Tuskegee Airmen", I liked it...
irishfey 1/19/2014 6:11:57 PM Report

All good pointers Celeste, thank you,, all except " opening my drapes" ,lol We have a huge window in the livingroom that gets the sun all day, then there is the woodstove!!,lol.. It"s like a sauna in here!! Hubby likes it hot and i like it cool,, i should be losing weight by the buckets ,lol, i sweat to death! The heat makes me tired, i found that out, so i have to just try and stay out of that room at times.I don"t have any other widows that see the sun. Oh well, better than freezing i guess ,lol Folks might think were nuts here as they drive by,, the temp. is like-20 and i have the doors open ,lolI will try the other ideas before i buy the lamp.... You all have a great night,, and God Today is World Religion Day ,lol... but i kept me trap shut in the blue room... proud of me ??,lol ,lol
irishfey 1/19/2014 6:20:39 PM Report

LOL.. not one word in the blue room about Religion, i think no one dares to approach the subject ,lol.. All talk of food and music ,lol.. real newsworthy ,lol... later
redranger 1/19/2014 6:44:56 PM Report

Do you read Ian Rankin?
Grump 1/19/2014 7:22:25 PM Report

Red Ranger I sent you mail.
mallet 1/19/2014 8:52:25 PM Report

Red Ranger..

To be honest I have only read one of his Rebus novels, and I found it a wee bit ponderous. Most of the police I came across in the old country, did not have that kind of mentality. Of course, having to deal with men who wear skirts, may give you a slightly different outlook I suppose!!! (I guess I should put LOL at the end there)..
redranger 1/19/2014 10:08:51 PM Report it Grump. Replied..thanks.
