Anyone swatting blackflies yet?
Just wondering.
soowat 1/3/2014 8:44:20 AM Report

No, which made for a much more pleasant day at Harmony Beach even if the water was a little cold.

Good morning everyone.

It`s cold outside, I`m just waiting for my ride, have to have some blood work done.

Last year I was sick all day when I had my blood work done.
I had a headache from fasting and this lady came to stand beside me and I got an instant miagraine, I told her, lady you have way too much perfume on, this is a Medical Building, there are sick people here and you are making me sick.
She turned in a huff and the Medical Secretary said to me, you are right, there shouldn`t be no scented products in this building.

I cursed that lady all day, I had a miagraine for 12 hours and I threw up 7 times, I couldn`t keep anything down.

It took me a while to type this, I had to stop to throw up.

Celest5 '
I'll wait till your better to pick up the goodies, hope you feel better sooner than later.
DutchTouch 1/3/2014 10:15:20 AM Report

Celeste I can sympathise with your plight to some extent.
With me it is the smell of vanilla candles or air fresheners.
Also diesel exhaust will give an instant headache and I feel sick to my stomach.
I hate sitting behind a diesel truck waiting for the light to change.

Good Morning Sault Ste Marie

Nice to see you DT.

I am with Celeste5... Strong scents give me a headache and sometimes an asthma attack.. If I can smell it, it is too strong.
I read somewhere that perfume should only be smelt when you hug someone. Other than that, it is too strong.
I strongly

Happy New Year and all the best for 2014.

Hi there EPC. How are things in the GTA?
I hope the ice storm didn't affect you.
So far it's been the kind of winter most of us will remember.

When a person could still smoke in the office a co-worker complained long and loud about smokers. One day I suggested that her perfume which I'm sure she sprayed on with a fire hose caused me problems. She told me I was ridiculous and just being hard to get along with.

Years later we have long since accepted the hazards of smoking. I'm not so sure about perfume etc.

Good afternoon.

News Flash

Well, I`m feeling better, my miagraine has left but I still have a headache.

I only upchucked 3 times and had to clean a mess because I splattered Chuck all over the place, LOL.

Now, if I had known that Diabetics only have to fast for 8 hours not 12, maybe I wouldn`t get so sick, just found that out this morning from the technician when I mentioned I was sick.

Hope your feeling better soon....Old saying... " less is best"", goes for makeup too.... later...

I finally decided it was time to get my flu shot today.
Every year I go through the same paradox of uncertainty.
This year, after hearing of the high numbers of H1N1 occurrences I decided to play it safe.
Besides, you are given a certificate which allows you to visit patients in hospitals and nursing homes.
I realise there are many pros and cons concerning the flu shot but after many years I've given in. Mostly to protect those with weaker immune systems than mine.
mr.monty 1/3/2014 3:04:29 PM Report

Soowatt. If you would have been smoking pot she probably would not have said anything. it is what is in the paper that makes the difference.
mallet 1/3/2014 5:09:27 PM Report

Good Day Folksd...

Had an early day in town today. Still a little on the cool side though..

Soowatt... did you have to cut a hole in the water to find out it was cold???

Mr Monty.. the barn was okay when we went past this morning, is that not the religious place??? Wonder what they were praying for???

EPC... I suggest you tell Mr Ford that you want the trees trimmed back around the hydro lines... save you a lot of outages when they do that...

Celeste... you do know they can do those BG counts without fasting, They like you to do that but it is not necessary, ask your doctor about that... Coming from out of town that's a hours drive and then having to wait on them and then driving back unless you know of a good restaurant that is okay for diabetics, I found it too hard on me, and told them to forget it unless they had another method, so they said the doctor does not need to put it on the form for fasting... Of course Christmas is not meant for people who have that desease!!

You all have a great weekend... and don't shovel too much.. get a women to do it for you...

soowat 1/3/2014 5:32:06 PM Report

Didn't have to cut a hole. I went out there with a politician and all the hot air melted a really big hole

Hello again.

Thanks for that info.

About the testing, I was told that fasting gives a more accurate reading.

I told my Doctor last year that I will not go for blood work if I have to fast.

He prescribe Cafergot for me and told me to take it as soon as felt a headache coming on and I would avoid a migraine.

My new family Doctor didn`t have any info on me from my Diabetic Doctor.
So she wanted a clean slate and had me tested for a whole slew of tests, 18 fecking blood tests.
So, that is why I had to fast and she didn`t want to give me my meds.

I`ve been adjusting my meds myself and both my old Doctors always agreed with me, we should know are bodies better than anyone, right.

I`am feeling much better now, my whole day was wasted, I finally have some food in my stomach.

I didn't know you David O and Byran were all ice fishing buddies... LOL..
mallet 1/3/2014 8:21:26 PM Report

You know yourself better than any of them ever will.. I only go to the doctors if I need refils for prescriptions, or if I feel the need for tests that I cannot get for myself. I had Farah as a Dr, once, supposed to be the best, bedside manner of one of the porchine members, never again, but he always nods or speaks when we meet. Lost both my cardiologists one left the other retired, not seen one since and still here. and that's a year of so now, they must have liked me as they wanted to see me every 6 months or so. Sometimes I find it is better not to go to these people ...
celeste5 1/3/2014 8:41:34 PM Report

Dr Farah was my Doctor, he`s the reason why I had to have blood work done.
He never sends the blood work results to the other Doctors.
