Good morning Grump.
Any doubts about investments, I'll paste here a short story, which it may have happened, or perhaps it's the truth, and never happened.
Read on for a good lesson:
Once upon a time in a village in India, a man announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10.
The villagers seeing there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at $10, but, as the supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their efforts. The man further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer rate increased to $25 and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now act as buyer, on his behalf.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers, Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when he returns from the city, you can sell them back to him for $50.
The villagers squeezed together their savings and bought all the monkeys.
Then they never saw the man or his assistant again, only monkeys everywhere! Welcome to WALL STREET.

Please refrain from assuming that those of us that did not buy into the global warming fraud , still do not care about actual pollution. We fully support efforts to prevent pollution dumping in our waters and air. We are just not as gullible as you about c02 and the worlds way of absorbing it and balancing it. You are confusing pollution with the plant life giving gas called C02.as for glaciers they have been receding since the ice age , or are you now calling the receding ice age caused by mankind also? Ocean rising is not being recorded at any applicable level that the enviro nuts claimed. Polar bears live on land and sea and are thriving as recorded last two years by the Inuit peoples actually living up there, but World Wildlife fund is selling a lot of stuffed teddy bears to folks like you to keep their jobs. Everyone who is gripping about their power bill, just remember when we go to the polls that it was the LIBERAL government under McGuinty and now under Whynn that we can thank for our high power bills. Those windmills that are north of the Sault don't turn if there isn't any wind, and if Ontario has to much power we PAY, yes PAY, other provinces or the states to take it off our hands. Wind power, solar power are a rip off. The Ontario government pays them from .53 cents to 83 cents perk kwh hour and we pay what? anywhere from 7 to 10 cents kwh, do the math. And also add in the cost of what over 1.3 BILLION DOLLARS that went down the drain when the Liberals moved those 2 gas power plants so that they wouldn't loose any seats in the last election.
We have gas heat, gas water tank, a wood stove, and on a day like today, passive solar heat coming in from the sun, as we have a lot of windows facing south.
I see that Rob Ford has filed his papers for mayor of Toronto(the city that thinks it's the centre of the universe), what is Toronto council going to do if he is re-elected? The people will have spoken. I'm not a fan of his, but realize that he was voted in by the people because the people of Toronto were tired of all the downtown elitist. The airport was a gift from the Little Guy from Shawinnigan and Paul Martin, but till today people needs a taxi to get there because there is not public transportation (reliable) to move the people in and out of Pearson.
Ford is not a consensus builder and you can't build a better TO and GTA when there is no consensus in the Municipal Government. You can't have half of councils out screaming bloody murder and hunting the other half of council.
Olivia Chao will not run as she needs the abandon her upper position to take chances in TO and if she steps down as MP, she'll never get there again.
From all the Joe Bacon that can invest 200 mackaroos to run, the only one that can bring some decency, consensus and chances for TO is John Tory.
Smitherman is not, never was and never will represent the grit's, he's an endepeeer and the city of Toronto will not vote for him, should him plan on running for what I'll state down below.
All three parties representatives are based in good intentions and probably good ideas and plans, those plans require money and people would like to know where is the money coming from.

Fly I'm not angry, I'm just disgusted that this moron makes these kind of comments about someone who has got out and done something with her life and still remained nice.

Grump...we'll have lunch on the 15th and I'll do my Dr. Phil impression. You'll be polite and then probably ignore it.
Morons drive you nuts. Me too. The difference is hope I've come to realize that this site is just recreation - not full body contact.

Grump...I just read the other post.
I rest my case.

Some people has no style, no class.
They deserve not a trip to the dump.
Grump 1/2/2014 8:06:37 PM Report
Fly but it is full body contact and I don't mind that. A true comment about someone else I can live with. That said go after my friends or make uneducated comments about good people I know and the stops get pulled out. On the plus side I have met a lot of great people on this site which more than make up for the few rude ,crude morons.

Sorry to upset the Great Know-it-all Grump but when some flake stands up in the House and claims racists are burning crosses in Prince George (not Burnaby-my mistake). This fruit loop was forced to apologise in the House but we all know that an apology from a politician means nada. She is on a par with the other political idiot Libby Davies the anti-semite. Anyway, carry on liberal fools.
Grump 1/2/2014 8:36:00 PM Report
Well Steely it's certainly wonderful that you have never made a mistake. On top of that you are so forgiving of others who do. Give us a break.

You should be grateful we are still in the Christmas Spirit, otherwise we'll be lined up and taking numbers to punch you in the mouth.
But not to worry, you'll not be alone.

I made a mistake when I said Burnaby.I find it appalling that people who represent us on the world stage are allowed to make some pretty racist comments and only repent when their feet are held to the fire. I think Hedy meant to say "Burnbaby burn" but got confused as to where Prince George was. If you could wire the whole Lib/NDP parties together somehow you probably couldn't brown a piece of toast.
