Good morning everyone, still a tad cool out there. Some interesting posts yesterday from many of the Swamp dwellers trying to provide us with a bit of red neck hillbilly wisdom. LMAO. Someone (probably their mommies) must still be telling these semi literate buffoons that they are cute and smart. If their attempts at recognition were not so painful they might be good for a laugh. Have a great day all.
Grump 12/14/2013 6:52:18 AM Report

Spelly some good advice from an unusual source. Every fortune cookie you open these days reads "learn Chinese". Talk about the writing being on the wall. lol

Good morning.
Relax folks it will be a peaceful takeover.The Chinese already have an economic hold on the US.
Wars are too costly and too messy.
The US has land and resources and an instant market and infrastructure.
Those Americans who are worried sick about Mexican immigrants are in for a big awakening.
Grump 12/14/2013 8:32:20 AM Report

You are right Fly, those Mexicans, who are Christian will start looking awfully good with what they are now getting and what is on the way. I wonder if they would consider some of our Swampers as they should fit in well around Texas. LMAO

Here's a guy whom Harper wishes would just 'shut up'! Interestingly, he was on the inside for many years and earned many dollars from the very industry he is now railing against. Think he may have some insights?? Sustainable energy sources anyone!

Grump 12/14/2013 10:09:38 AM Report

Big Brother, It always amazes me that these fellows get religion after they have made and kept a large pile of the dirty green. Most on here are down on green energy because it's costing a few dollars more right now which I believe is chump change to cleaning up the environment and little messes like Lac Megnatic. Sadly I know that McGuinty screwed up therefore everyone believes anything he did is a screw up. In my mind Harper has done nothing that he didn't screw up but has spent so much money on self advertising , folks don't seem to notice what a big spending, incompetent PM that he is.

Things that are gone.
The caboose at the end of a train.
The Snow Train.
The daily passenger service to Sudbury.
And now, soon to be The Mailman!

It's hard to believe how fast times change and the way systems change?
Wild Turkey 12/14/2013 10:20:46 AM Report

@ Spelly---I went to that Policymic site--couldn't find The Chinese Invasion, but there is a really neat map in there that shows all of the different dialects spoken in The U.S.A.It's worth a look.
BIG BROTHER 12/14/2013 10:35:28 AM Report

Grump, you are so right about these fellows who find god in a foxhole.

Having said that, this guy knows the inner workings of the system and just how rotten the whole thing is, from first hand experience. I don't think he's about to give up all his fortune, but he is putting a sizable chunk on the table.

It slays me when right wingers rail against David Suzuki, Al Gore, etc., when they know full well if they didn't have money, they'd be another lost voice in the wilderness. Macleans did a great article on Suzuki. His worldly possessions came from sacrifice and hard work. He invested in property on an island years ago, as did some oil exec. The right wing would have you believe he's in cahoots with the oil companies as a result of this investment. If he had no money, he'd have little voice in the political circles. He'd be spending his days on Soo Today blog duking it out with rw and accomplishing about as much.
flyhawk25 12/14/2013 10:59:13 AM Report is amazing that when neo-cons make money and crap on the environment studies they are viewed by some as heroes.
But when rich cats who are voices against fossil fuels speak up they are viewed as nuts/hypocrites.
I'm no expert by a long shot but just the sidestepping of hydro power which is sustainble makes me shake my head.
And I really am flummoxed by how politicians jump on whatever new idea for green energy pops up and then waste our money finding out it is a rip off by the special interest groups.
'Oops' just doesn't work for me.
mallet 12/14/2013 11:10:09 AM Report

Grump and Big Brother.

"There are none so right as the righteous". I love the way you fellers try to give reason to things which do not affect you at the moment. Grump, you say the increases in the price of fuel (hydro) is chump change, well tell that to the pensioner whose bill is going to increase 30/40 per cent in the next few years, without the same amount being added to his/her pension, whether it be government or private. Big Brother, I did answer your question re Mr Mandela if you check the archives, but you say about finding god in the foxhole, I have heard (and said) "Jesus Christ, that was close" and also heard "Oh God I'am hit", so yes I think you find God in the trenches/foxholes. Of course whether it is meant for the long run I do not know. As for the "green energy" I am informed now that some wind energy projects in the UK are on hold, while the government and builders argue about the price/subsidies to be paid, it seems some are wising up to the greed of the people involved. I understand that the MNR says some 200,000H of forest are burnt every year in Ontario, I wonder how much power that would produce if burnt in the old coal fired gen stations???
I know you consider me one of the swamp people, but I would love my departed mother to tell me how I turned out!!

right wing 12/14/2013 11:16:30 AM Report

Good luck to the rich oil guy that is going to "battle" climate change.
Funny how he listed little except selling off his carbon credits as to how he is going to achieve his battle.
How is he going to battle something that is a natural occurrence of this planet.
...and of course he has no political aspirations.

Perhaps he can donate a bunch to the IPCC, they can spend it on improving their public image.
After all they are having a tough time lately as all of their disaterous perdictions and climate models keep falling apart.

The latest on the IPCC from The Global Warming Policy Foundation.

The IPCC has decided to discount the global warming standstill since 1997 as irrelevant and has deleted from its final document its original acknowledgement (in its 7 June draft) that climate models have failed to 'reproduce the observed reduction in surface warming trend over the last 10-15 years.' Not only has the IPCC failed to predict the ongoing temperature standstill, its climate models actually predicted accelerated warming due to the increase of CO2 emissions.

Instead of acknowledging empirical facts and growing uncertainties, the IPCC is trying to divert attention from these key issues by claiming increased certainty about the reliability of climate models and their outputs.

"Today the IPCC has taken a huge gamble that will soon determine whether it is still fit for purpose. Unless global temperature begins to rise again in the next few years, the IPCC is very likely going to suffer an existential blow to its credibility," said Dr Benny Peiser, director of the Global Warming Policy Foundation.

This group is becoming more than laughable...change the name when it does not driven global warming suddenly becomes "Climate Change"...models that proved to be completely inaccurate and a lack of temperature increases due to CO2 emissions are suddenly not a problem...they just claim them to be irrelevant and hit the delete button.

I'll give Gore credit for one least he finally shut his mouth and ran with his money when he saw that the facts were not lining up with the "hockey stick".
Oldie Goldie 12/14/2013 11:22:16 AM Report

There is a lot of other things that Canada Post could have done rather than cut out home delivery to many people who will have difficulty getting to a Community Box and bring a shovel with them 5 months of the year.

They could have sold off Purolator.

They could have cut home delivery to 3 days a week---Mon.--Wed. and Fri. and cut the Service to Community boxes also to 3 days.

They could have cut out the 3 Systems of Sorting before any deliveries.

If they keep going the way they are going we all may have to go to our Local Post Office and sort and pick up our own mail.

Raising the price of stamps by 30 % and offering poorer Service won't even cover the cost of the Underfunded Pension Plan that Canada Post has ignored for years.

When and if the Postal Workers are shorted on their Pensions the s--t will hit the Fan.

In my opinion, Canada Post wants to get rid of the Postal Workers Union and that is right in line with Harper's Plans for most Unions.

Harper will come back to Parliament in late January and tell us that Canada Post did not let him in on their plans when the Opposition puts the heat on them.

Once again---Deny--Deny--Deny

I was really surprised when I attended at my Financial Institution on a day that Government Checks were received in the Mail and the recipients were there to cash them.

My Credit Card Companies cannot send me my statements other than by mail even if I do pay them Electronically.

Mail is a Necessary evil in our Society and sometimes we have to bite the bullet--so to speak--to maintain a proper Service to the Public.
right wing 12/14/2013 11:28:10 AM Report

Good point deny that Canada Post is billions in debt and will simply go broke if it does not do something.
Like deny that it has been heading this way long before Harper was in office.
Like deny the electronic mail age is here to stay.
Deny that door to door mail delivery was destined to go the way of the milk man.
Deny that 2/3rds of Canadians already get their mail from slot boxes.
Those kinds of deny?

Britain's Royal Mail was privatized and went public in October. CEO is Canadian Moya Greene. Shares are up 79% and profitability on the rise. Union was going to strike but came to their senses.
With Canada Post reducing service, cutting jobs and increasing postal rates, the one step they missed was the privatization and the competition that goes hand in hand.

Last year I bought 3 packs of stamps to mail Christmas cards We only used two and I tacked the remaning pack on a cork board. This year we got ready for card mailing again and that left over pack had two stamps missing from it.Perhaps mailing only two letters a year takes me outside the norm,but it did illustrate to me how little my family and I use Canada Post.

Another anecdote,involves my recent trip to the Canada Post outlet at Churchill Plaza. There was an elderly lady ahead of me mailing a small parcel and a handful of Christmas cards. [I know what she was mailing because we chatted while waiting in the line.] She was quite taken aback when the total postage was over forty dollars.

The mail I do receive comes from Bryan Hayes telling me that while he hasn't yet got the hang of walking on water,he has a leader that does. Alternatively, I get essentially the same message from David O.
Otherwise 99% of my mail is an exhortation to buy a car,buy a pizza or buy some other product or service I don't want.
Final thought. My mail box has served me well,but now it is old and rusty with a lid that squeals horribly. If I don't have to buy a new one, I'll have funds to take Wisen's advice on which stocks to buy and will end up rich.
Life don't get no better'n that
Wild Turkey 12/14/2013 11:57:31 AM Report

@ oldie--As soon as home mail delivery is completely gone, there will be a new "service" available to take it's place.If you are sending a letter, they will come right to your home and pick it up.(For a hefty fee of coarse)When receiving a letter, they will deliver it right to your door.Now that's progress.
As soon as C.P.R. discontinued "The Bud Car" to Sudbury, Greyhound doubled their fares for the same trip.
As soon as we only had one cable provider to choose from locally, The rates started climbing almost monthly
There was a sugar shortage when we(the Americans) were having a spat with Cuba.
The price of soft drinks doubled overnight, but didn't go down when new sources came on stream.
And on and on.
Bottom line ---we'll get through it ,but it's gonna cost US -big time.

Deny that many Seniors need home delivery.

Deny that there are problems now with Community boxes as stated by several posters.

Deny that mail is still necessary for many businesses.

Deny that a lot of Seniors are Computer Illiterate and want their checks in their hands.

Deny that all the Electronics in the world does not give privacy to the sender nor the receiver.

Deny that Seniors are becoming the largest group of Citizens who need Personal Services.

Deny that deliverers who bring mail to Community Boxes will not clear the snow and will not put mail in boxes that are not cleared.

Deny that Mechanical problems such as frozen locks will prevent the recipient from getting their mail.

Deny that many posters on this site have already experienced these problems.

Deny that you even care about these problems because they do not affect you.

Deny that there are other options that Canada Post are not even considering as some posters have already mentioned.

Normally I have a degree of agreement with you, however I think you are being a little unfair with regards to the elderly. Not everybody has had a job with high wages all their working lives and could perhaps not have invested as much and a wisely as you appear to have done. Not every couple has had the luxury of being DINK's, they decided to have children, so the country did not die out. Oh I know there could be immigration, but that can be stopped if the right government comes to power and does a chinese on the population. Remember not everyone has the educational ability to make large wages and savings, also some are at the vagaries of the monetry systems. I and my wife have pensions from the UK, the value of the pound went from $2.11 to the pound to $1.53 at one point, so we lost around $300.oo per month in our pensions, so you could make more money with your investments. Sometimes things are not as simple as you would like to make out. Thankfully I had the government pension here plus my company pension here which were not discounted.

Isn't the English language wonderful? So many descriptive anthropomorphic nouns for various groups of animals, for instance. We're all familiar with a flock of sheep, a gaggle of geese, a school of fish or a herd of cows.

But how about a "murder" of ravens, a "congress" of owls, an "exaltation" of doves, and a pride of lions?

Then there's the common baboon -- the loudest, most obnoxious, most dangerous and vicious, and least intelligent of all the primates: and in a group? How appropriate - a PARLIAMENT!! I wonder if the baboon feels insulted?

The question that you seem unwilling to answer (as posed by O.G.)is relevant unless you can tell me that everything you've gotten has not cost the taxpayer a penny

A few examples.

Did you or your parents pay directly for your k-12 education or did they get the cost covered by taxes?
If you went to post secondary school,did you pay 100% of the costs or did taxpayers pay for some of the costs?
When you went to a doctor,did you insist on writing a cheque,or did you let the taxpayer pick up the tab.
Have you hired private security to protect your person and your property or are you content to let the taxpayer funded police do the job?

Did I forget to post that some of these neo-con swampers know everything. I'm sure I posted that, what I did forget to post is a few of them are total a******s. The other problem of course is they elected the control freak, incompetent PM that we now have. I can't think of one thing that he hasn't screwed up but if I missed something he has a little time left to screw that up too. Mallet posted a while back that taxes would go up if Harper was not re-elected. We have the same situation now as when Mulroney (Conservatives) left power. We are again up to our butts in debt, but deeper thanks to PM Harper. Of course taxes will go up no matter who is elected, the interest on that debt is already keeping us in a deficit position. I'm sure I'll puke if I hear one more moron tell us that the Liberals and the NDP made him spend all that money.

mallet 12/14/2013 2:39:37 PM Report

I hope you have your "barf bag" ready then, as I recall the situation, and correct me if I am wrong, Harper had a Minority government, and was pressured into "stimulating" the economy as a world recession took place. He put $50 billion on the table, which was snapped up pretty quick and then he said no more, and the Libs and Dippers had the chance to defeat him and put their own ideas in place, I wonder why they did not?? Then of course there were the trains, planes and automobiles that wanted money as well. We all have our views, some are more realistic than others, once upon a time no country had a national debt, but then we wanted Armies, Navies and Air forces to protect us from other countries, and then police forces to protect the individual and then we have to look after the unfortunates and so on and so on, and someone has to pay. Now how much do you want to pay, more so you become one of the unfortunates? or do you want companies to pay more and move to other countries because you tax them out of existance. Think of the old tailors adadge you can only cut your cloth to give you a nice jacket and short pants, or nice pants and a waistcoat, but you can't have a suit. When he tries to cut things, up goes a cry because nobody wants to give up anything, this idea of give me, give me, give me, has to stop somewhere, otherwise there is nothing left to give!!!

Frothing at the mouth is a sign of illness. You shouldn't let this chat room get you all worked up.

Respectfully, you are up on your plumbing skills, mainly filters and the fact that shIt flows downhill. It took years for you to hone such skills. While you were digging up sewers and pushing shIt uphill, Suzuki was busy at school, doing what scientists do. They develop hypothesis, then set out to either prove them or disprove them. After years of research and much consultation with other experts in their fields, they are asked to share their knowledge with the world. After many years of paying for the training they are considered experts by their peers, having defended their thesis among other experts in the same field and only then are they asked to and paid for, sharing their knowledge.

Now you may not respect his knowledge or his political cut, but you like to pound the table and defend how hard you worked to get through trade school and sacrificed money, while apprenticing. He has paid those dues and then some. I think I'll take your advice on how to get the shIt up a hill and his advice on how society's approach to the environment is not sustainable. You may or may not have earned your expertise in your field (I don't know), but I'm pretty damn sure he certainly did.

Big Brother..

Perhaps you would like to get on the roundabout regarding Mr Mandela's "fredom fighting days" with the comments by NBC on their web site, and just remember I spoke those things days before this was presented on their site...
BIG BROTHER 12/14/2013 3:02:19 PM Report

There is no use trying to convince you that Mandella may have merely been labelled a terrorist by politicians with ulterior motives, in his life. That is a badge of honor for him. His people were slaves in their own country; treated like second class citizens in their own country by the majority who were backed by the world powers of the day.

To think that apartheid is an A-OK form of governing is to sanction slavery in all it's forms. Because Thatcher said that Mandella was a terrorist doesn't mean you have to agree nor does it make it right. Governments, even democratically elected ones, could, by that measure, be considered terrorists. Dubya and Cheney are terrorists, measured by some very logical standards. There is no logical explanation for attacking Iraq. You don't have to tell me why it was an OK thing to do, because I've heard all the excuses and none of them have convinced me differently. If it was to take out a despot, well, they could sure use another one (despot) in Iraq. It's (Iraq) worse off now than it was under Saddam, after thousands of people killed and a country in ruins. If Mandella was a 'terrorist' for fighting against apartheid, then one can obviously see that labels, developed through propaganda, aren't the true measuring stick. Even Mulroney, who I haven't much use for, could see it!!

Weisenheimer---You seem to generalize everybody but yourself and try to set your standards for everyone else.

When I defend Seniors it is because I know many of them and understand their problems.

When my wife needed a Rollator Walker I bought one from my reduced Pension because I gave up a lot of my Pension in 2001 to allow Algoma Steel and all it's employees to continue working.

But how would you know that because you are so self-centered.

When I worked I bought RRSP's which are now R.I.F.s

I made some good investments which are now all in TFSA's but after 22 years of Retirement I have needed to dig into those Investments because there is no Indexing of my Pension except for the CPP and OAS.

I do not get my money clawed back because I don't earn that much---which I believe is 65,000 per year.

I live as comfortable as I can with what I have but I know that many Seniors were unable to do what I did.

Now that I have paid all that was required of me to pay for 60 years--you, smart ass, would deny me any earned benefits.

Big Brother..

Let us get something straight, you have your views and I have mine, so let us agree on that.

Now it was the Dutch who were there first, not the British, fact of history, Britian only came there to stop the French, who had invaded Holland, one of those pesky little Euopean wars of long ago, and the Brits wanted to make sure of a coaling station on the Cape of Good Hope, the Boers then did not want to be under british control so moved north in the Natal, gold and Diuamonds were found and the Brits wanted their share, hence the Boer War..

Can we agree on that???

That's what I said this morning. It's a circle. Slavery, apartheid, it what you want. He was fighting for his freedom and that of his fellow citizens. They were being terrorized by outside forces, uninvited guests at their party. He fought it with the only weapon he had. Ultimately, he was a pacifist, because he knew he couldn't fight them on the battlefields, but he knew he was on the right side of morality. Martin Luther King style. I would also. Call me a terrorist or call me Carlos Danger, I don't care.

Based on the your logic, Churchill would have been a terrorist, according to Hitler. Remember Churchill's speech ...'we shall not surrender, blah, blah, blah'. Well, what's the difference between that and Mandella's actions. Uninvited guests are just that...uninvited guests!! Never give up the fight, no matter what they may label you as!!

Oh, and Mallet, the native South Africans were there first. Let's not let our ethno-centricity get in the way of the facts. Now, they may have had something that others wanted, but let's get that straight. And they were kept in bondage until very recent times.

Interesting interview on CBC radio this morning with a South African activist from early Mandela days and an IRA convicted killer. The South African made it clear that when your sisters, mothers and friends are getting raped and murdered and you have no rights, then armed resistance and sabotage is really just self-defence. Mandela was uncomfortable with the saintly image bestowed on him and I can see why, but the tributes paid to him are entirely justified.

One never in danger of being deemed saintly is the Grinchenheimer. Don't worry, he'll soon be in Florida where, on many days, the temperature, the humidity, his age and his IQ will be exactly the same. For a match with his EQ, he's better stay in these climes.

BB and mallet,

When folks start separating people by pigmentation and treat them like Walmart shoppers then all bets are off and anything least in my book.
There are numerous examples of this in recorded human history. And it will continue.
"pigmentation" does not exclusively mean skin colour, it can mean social status, sexual orientation, culture , language etc.
From the Nuremberg racial laws to the proliferation of "cross border shoppers for rotisserie chicken and bird feed bargain hunters".
Social inequality is the root of all evil.
Humans are naturally lazy. They will go were the pickings are easy. Some will follow radical fanatics that promise them Nirvana and some are born into wealth and don't realize that they "did not build it" and lambast anybody else that tries to criticize the status quo.
Its natural.
Then there are some that stick to principles and will make sacrifices to make the world a better place. Mandela was one of them. He failed, in a sense, because South Africa is more or less the same shit hole that it was decades ago. Using the same toilet and abolishing segregation does not make for a better society! You can see that in the southern U.S.
As long as there are folks with the same mentality of a "Wisenheimer", "steelworker" and company I see no hope for humankind in the foreseeable future.

Racism is not one sided. African Americans in Detroit are just as racist as the white folk of the South. Take a walk through the lovely city and see how you get treated.

There are many authority figures whom are black and continually spew hatred and make racism an even bigger problem.

Then there are some who realize that the only enemies African Americans have today is themselves.

No matter what you do, racism is always going to exist be it black on white or white on black. You're dealing with humans. Ignorance is always a factor.

just curious---You may read my posts but, obviously, you don't absorb what you read.

I never once said that walking to a Community box for mail would be a problem for me, personally, but it would be for my wife who uses a Rollator Walker.

I meet, on a regular basis, Seniors who would have great difficulty in Wintertime and I also meet on a regular basis, as a Volunteer helping Seniors, many people who only live on O.A.S. and C.P.P. and a supplement on their O.A.S. because of low income.

You are guessing that I have a huge Pension well, I will tell you that I retired in 1990 on a fixed income and losing my Indexing.

At the rate of only 2 % per year inflation my Pension is now only worth 54 % of what it was in 1990.

The Investments I made were from my earned income when I did work.

I also said that I now have to draw from those investments because my Pensions are not enough to pay my bills.

Those investments will soon dry up.

As for the problems that many will experience by having to go to a Community Box---They have already been documented by other posters on this site---That is if you read them and understood them.

Try using a non-electric wheelchair or a walker or even a Cane in our 5 months of winter, especially when most sidewalks are only cleaned on 1 side of the road.

I see, every day, some people with electric wheelchairs using the side of the road because they can't maneuver the sidewalks.

Many Seniors are too proud to mention that they have difficulty living in their own homes with disabilities.

Someone has to speak up for them !

I ask you to, please, understand what poster write and you will know their problems.

Don't you know that all those charges that put Mandela behind bars were politically motivated and the conspiracy went as high as the South African Supreme Court.
Does make you wonder why the conspirators made up so many charges... would not two or three have sufficed.
Lets not forget that Mandela could have been released from prison if he simply denounced violence and terrorism but he refused...I don't get that part, should have been no biggie for a guy that was innocent of a bunch of trumped up charges of violence.

The full list of munitions and charges read as follows:

- One count under the South African Suppression of Communism Act No. 44 of 1950, charging that the accused committed acts calculated to further the achievement of the objective of communism;

- One count of contravening the South African Criminal Law Act (1953), which prohibits any person from soliciting or receiving any money or articles for the purpose of achieving organized defiance of laws and country; and

- Two counts of sabotage, committing or aiding or procuring the commission of the following acts:

1) The further recruitment of persons for instruction and training, both within and outside the Republic of South Africa, in:

(a) the preparation, manufacture and use of explosives-for the purpose of committing acts of violence and destruction in the aforesaid Republic, (the preparation and manufacture of explosives, according to evidence submitted, included 210,000 hand grenades, 48,000 anti-personnel mines, 1,500 time devices, 144 tons of ammonium nitrate, 21.6 tons of aluminum powder and a ton of black powder);

(b) the art of warfare, including guerrilla warfare, and military training generally for the purpose in the aforesaid Republic;

(ii) Further acts of violence and destruction, (this includes 193 counts of terrorism committed between 1961 and 1963);

(iii) Acts of guerrilla warfare in the aforesaid Republic;

(iv) Acts of assistance to military units of foreign countries when involving the aforesaid Republic;

(v) Acts of participation in a violent revolution in the aforesaid Republic, whereby the accused, injured, damaged, destroyed, rendered useless or unserviceable, put out of action, obstructed, with or endangered:

(a) the health or safety of the public;
(b) the maintenance of law and order;

(c) the supply and distribution of light, power or fuel;
(d) postal, telephone or telegraph installations;
(e) the free movement of traffic on land; and
(f) the property, movable or immovable, of other persons or of the state.

I cry about all taxes, whether they be Income tax, sales tax, property tax, or any other tax. The simple reason for taxes is to support a government (ANY) that does very little for me. If you have not watched the House of Commons on TV, I suggest you do and then tell me what do we need a load of clowns like that, with their golden pension after 7 years service doing on yours and mine dollar which we actually have worked for. Do you get six weeks off in the winter and 8 weeks plus in summer and a few breaks inbetween, because no matter what I have done I never got anything near that.

As for what Harper has done with our money.. well we have accounted for the 50 billion so what has he done with other 200, I don't think he has spent all that in the last couple of years, so again I have to ask why your buddies and their pals didn't stop him, when they could have? You know that old saying " if you are not part of the solution, you're part of the problem" so all I can say is they are as much to blame as what Harper is.

Furthermore, my opinion isn't necessarily right either. But I will take his opinion over yours, where global warming is concerned. If you think he makes those statements and other scientists sit back and don't refute him publicly, then you are, at the least, naive.

You take a snapshot of history and make large assumptions that all questions are answered. Makes it quite simple, actually. In order to fully assimilate the information, you have to look at the political climate at the time and the place. That would be critical thinking, something your logic lacks on most issues and is sorely missing from anything Rush says.

Ask yourself why he wouldn't denounce violence and terrorism. He knew they were desperate to get him out of prison (other countries were pressuring the Apartheid Government) and admit that he was the terrorist that you believe he was. It was a kangaroo court that labelled him in the first place.
