Morning Folks...

Well, very Christmassy looking out there this Am, wind has dropped considerably, and I have to go deal with some drifts, after the wife shovels out the back yard, so I can turn the tractor round.. A likely story!! The Lake is not that rough either just some nice small rollers..

Making the grocery list for when we come into town next week and that will be it for the rest of the year hopefully...

You all be careful out there and remember that shovelling snow is the main cause of heart attacks this time of the year....

Hello again

T-rat

I use to use Salt Pork for my baked beans but I quit salting my food for awhile and found the Salt Port too salty.

I just sampled my beans and their fine,
The strong smell of the Maple Flavoured Bacon had me worried.

I posted this on the other site but in hindsight, guess it might work better here. This guy is a great storyteller and this is so appropriate for the season. Enjoy.

Celeste: glad your beans turned out OK. My half French Canadian background requires that I use salt pork but still, it can be overdone.

Got up this morning.Saw the weather conditions. Said to myself that this was a stay in my jammies and read a book day, thus enjoying one of the benefits of retirement. A few minutes later mama asked where the milk was that we bought yesterday. The answer was,"In the car."

So much for staying in the jammies.

I see, I made another mistake,
Salt Port, LOL.
DutchTouch 12/11/2013 5:25:00 PM Report

Mallet, you're so right.
My brother in law died 21 years ago today while shovelling snow.
He was 50 years old. So take it easy folks.
mallet 12/11/2013 8:24:26 PM Report

Dutch Touch, et al..

I am sorry to hear that, but it was something my cardiologist warned me about after they put the stents in.

Funny that snow felt really heavy today for some reason and the blower did not want to blow it as far as usual, perhaps others have had the same reaction as I today. Normally my tractor bourne blower sends it 30 or 40 ft but could omly manage around 20 ft if that in places, must have been a lot of moisture in this dumping. Of course I live pretty near the lake, but even so from the way it was blowing and drifting last night I expected it to be really "fluffy" when I went out to clear the yard and neighbours.
However acoording to the forecasters we are due to get that little yellow ball back in the sky for a while the next few days, but I will believe that when i see it...
joewho999 12/11/2013 10:47:01 PM Report

Mallet
I find that if I go forward in a higher gear, the blower blows further.
