Fellow righties, you know where this system of government is.
DEFINITION: (in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Good morning Spelly.
I wonder how many in our society actually produce goods and/or services. If you look at large urban NA areas, many service the needs of the few with the most. Those few don't produce much rather than monetary wealth. They gain control of governments and then complain about those who been left behind from the bounty.
They seem especially to resent those immigrants who come here and work hard to succeed. Perhaps it's because they are a threat to upsetting the status quo.
Grump 10/7/2013 6:47:33 AM Report
Good morning everyone. Spelly you finally have it right. I have been saying for ages that Harper is incompetent and apparently even you neo-cons are starting to see it. WOW. That said Skipper Dave was very appreciative of you getting his girl out on dry land. Well done. Off to the mines, have a great day all.

Good morning Fly. It would likely be the fact that those immigrants are likely brighter, more focused and will work a hell of a lot harder than some of our landed gentry. You know the type, Canada College, appointed to Daddy's Board on graduation, branch out into politics etc. By the way for goodness sake give Wisen a little pat on the head. Maybe it will shut him up. Take care.

Fellow roomies, you all know where this system of government is...
[ploo-tok-ruh-see] Show IPA
noun, plural plu·toc·ra·cies.
the rule or power of wealth or of the wealthy.
a government or state in which the wealthy class rules.
a class or group ruling, or exercising power or influence, by virtue of its wealth.
In 2012, a grand total of 132 individual Americans made over 60% of Superpac donations.

That's what made Romney's loss such a shock for many. Anointed millionaires are not supposed to lose. Unfortunately no one remembered to consider Obama's team's use of social media and marketing 'hope and change'.
I'm sure Mitt still hasn't figured out what happened yet. And it isn't as if he's suffering because of the defeat.
Time to polish up another talking head with big money connections.

Spelly, that is PERFECT!
And it describes exactly the plan of current leftist-socialists and their public sector union bedmates:
To get and keep power, increase the numbers of voters who rely on (taking) from the taxpayer teat.
Then, come election time, simply promise to "give" more to the taker voters, and just tell them the "producers" (so-called "rich" people) will pay for it.
This works along gloriously for them for a few years - they increase public sector union "jobs"; feather the nests of their leftist "intellectual" friends in academia and the media - who of course publish glowing descriptions of how good it is.......
Then, one day, the bills come due; it all comes crashing down, and takes DECADES to correct.

Jimssm .. Shareholders (Owners of the company), used their hard earned money to invest. If they are wise investors, they invest in good companies like our banks, telcos, miners, oil and gas producers, etc. These companies over time produce capital gains and dividends which they give to their owners. The owners then use the money to buy stuff. Workers who make the stuff get jobs. Workers then save a portion of the money from the job and invest wisely as stated above. Hope this helps.

Obama's greatest achievement so far.
47 Million people on food stamps? I wonder how much that has grown under the "hope and change" guy? To lefties, such an increase would be considered a "success". Why you may ask?
More people on food stamps, means more votes for Democrats, of course.
It's the typical socialist parasitic relationship. More people on food stamps also of course means you need more unionized 'government' workers and bureaucrats to administer this wonderful "social program". Then of course, in order to continue this parasitic relationship, and benefit more from it, you must continue to vote left/Democrat.
It's the perfect recipe for leftist politicians to get elected; and for the downfall of great nations and states.

I note your response that Clark and Campbell were only in for short terms. What's your take on Mulroney, who increased the deficit from $24 million to $42 million, and Harper. Actually, I don't think Harper had a choice. Stimulus and support for the car industry were necessary.

Will Boehner and his Right Wingers actually allow the U.S.A. to now default on their bills ?

One thing i remember is that quite some time ago, he predicted that by Nov. 2013 that you wouldn"t be able to buy the ordinary lightbulbs, [ the ones for 4 in a box for 2or 3 $$] That they were being replaced by the dangerous wiggily ones [ when broken.. gasses ].. and by gosh , he was right... try and buy them now,, they are quickly going off the shelves. Soon you won"t be able to buy a lightbulb without spending 10.00 or more, when the older ones were just fine.

As far as his lightbulb 'prediction' goes, a law was passed in 2007 to force lightbulbs to be more efficient by end of 2013... so he wasn't being psychic or anything. Compact fluorescent lighting (the curly ones) were the only answer for now. The 2nd part of the law kicks in soon and you will see CFL replaced by LED lighting.

Wow I am getting lost here, this is like the perverbial roundabout.

It's lifespan is normally 10X that of regular bulbs. BUT...

Got it ?
Personally, I find their shape a pain in the butt, and the fact you can't use regular dimmers sucks, but I don't mind putting money in my pocket rather than the PUCs. They also save me money on buying lightbulbs.

I don't like padding GT lakes/Algoma Powers/Broodfield or whatever they want to call themselves pockets either, however there are lots of times I don't need the light on for more than a few minutes, go to the loo, make a coffee, let the dogs out, get some wood in, lots of things that take only a few minutes, not going to stand about for 15/20 minutes so I can save a bulb. Also have you noticed how long they take to warm up and brighten in winter, you know those days Mother Nature forgets to put the heaters on outside and the temp doesn't go above minus 20 or so.
Just one other point, have you told your "adopted sons" about the white stuff we tend to get starting possibly this month or next and then for sure in december and the temperature that does not come above the freezing mark for a few months?? That can be a shock to the system, I know limeys who have beat a retreat because of that.... LOL..

I have seen in some of the speciality shops selling electrical gear that there are "timer" friendly bulbs, but the price is a little high, also do you not have a photo electric cell for the dusk to dawn lights. The yard "riot" lights have them hard wired into the receptical. I think Home depot has them also CTC has some not sure what power they are though..

It is not your wiring.
My sister and brother-in-law down in Southern Ontario decided to comply with all this "green" energy crap.
They changed every bulb in the house to the "energy saving" ones.
They put timers on some of the household appliances.
They spent some considerable dollars on a device that is supposed to "correct" energy lost at your meter.
They made sure that they used high energy appliances during the "off peak" hours.
....and I'm sure I'm missing a few.
After two months and literally over 1500.00 in expenditures...they said their hydro bill went down about six bucks.
That is the reality of all of this green garbage.
Jim can quote all he wants about how he thinks he is saving money but I will challenge him to do the same and show me a hydro bill that reflects it.

Goldie these new curlie bulbs work good for me inside and on the yard lite as well as the porch lite on a Timer. Some I purchased at the dollar store

My new sons have yet to believe me about the cold. They chuckled when we went and bought various outerwear they're going to need. Got them long johns too. I'm waiting for their complaints then I will give them a 'told you so'.
The two from Africa last year didn't have much problem with the cold and went skiing and sliding quite often. I'm not sure if they like it or just tolerate it.
