Would Sootoday consider a story to pursue? I think the rest of the Sault area would be interested in the election. Aspects such as if off reserve memebers are getting to vote or not. In Attawapiskat Reserve Election last month , that Chief did not allow it, despite Federal law providing those folks citizenship representaion rights. Other aspect story could include, incubants position on issues versus new proponents....nepotism ....etc etc

Syria has agreed to divest itself of their nerve gas.
The US did not have to attack targets there. But they are still poised to attack if Assad's regime does not comply according to their agreement.
Yet somehow our resident expert on everything will not give the president any credit for any of it.

Here we go, or should i say, there they go.
(Reuters) - Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri urged small-scale attacks inside the United States to "bleed America economically", adding he hoped eventually to see a more significant strike, according to the SITE monitoring service.
In an audio speech released online a day after the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 strikes, Zawahri said attacks "by one brother or a few of the brothers" would weaken the U.S. economy by triggering big spending on security, SITE reported.
Western counter-terrorism chiefs have warned that radicalized "lone wolves" who might have had no direct contact with al Qaeda posed as great a risk as those who carried out complex plots like the 9/11 attacks.
"We should bleed America economically by provoking it to continue in its massive expenditure on its security, for the weak point of America is its economy, which has already begun to stagger due to the military and security expenditure," he said.
Keeping America in such a state of tension and anticipation only required a few disparate attacks "here and there", he said"

You will note the first raid shown is on a convenience store in Louisiana. The story said the synthetic drugs are coming into the U.S. and the Louisiana raid shows they are not only coming into Colorado, where the selling and buying of marijuana is legal. For all we know, they might already be available in Canada on the underground market. If not, they probably soon will be. I don't think legalization will have any effect on that racket.

Fly...your wish to God's ears....From the Gospel of the Conservative Party
As a Conservative supporter I thought I'd let you in on our focus for the rest of the year.
We have a three-pronged plan:
Supporting our local associations. The Conservative Party’s strength has always been its members and supporters. That is why we are going to focus on supporting our local associations by providing them with the tools and information they need to be successful, training organizers across the country, and engaging more Canadians than ever before.
Identifying Conservative Supporters. Crucial to improving the Party’s chances of success in the next election is the identification of Conservative supporters so that we can reach out to them and ensure they are motivated to vote on Election Day. We are developing the next generation of political tools to make it easier for campaign teams to target their efforts and ultimately be successful.
Holding the Liberals and NDP accountable for their lack of ideas or reckless plans. You've heard our opponents talk a lot about how they are listening to Canadians while they attack the Conservative agenda of strengthening the economy and creating jobs. But if you've been paying attention, Justin Trudeau doesn’t have one single idea to address Canadians' concerns about jobs or the economy while the NDP have a reckless plan of higher spending and higher taxes. We need to make sure that all Canadians are aware that our opponents are waffling and in over their heads.
Our Party is going to work very hard to make sure this plan succeeds, but I have to be straight with you: a main factor in its success or failure will be whether we have the resources to pull it off.
This is a winning plan -- and I can't wait to get to work on it with you,
Conservative Party of Canada

Grace lots of luck to Dan and the team. Harper is incompetent and has lost support for the next election leaving Canada not with a bright future but with a horrendous debt. We have continually seen the delusional world the neo-cons live in.
When the Harper bubble bursts they'll find another one to worship.
What they don't seem to understand is that most of us are tired of the politics of division and attack. Canadians are looking for a plan that speaks to a broader base which is more inclusive and less angry.
Whether it is Liberal, NDP or Green federally folks are tired of scandal and a shrinking economy no matter how our local experts try to spin it.

Right now all he has to do is keep his face in the news. By the time Harper is finished with the attack ads, increasing scandals and debt he could run on 'hope and change'. In both official languages.
Trudeau Lite can create an image of a young vibrant inclusive and thoughtful leader and the masses will fall at his feet.
He doesn't have to do anything but wait for Harper and his cronies to shoot their mouths and feet off.

"Federal documents obtained by CBC News through an Access to Information request show there are now more than 3,000 companies in Saskatchewan that have asked for and received permission to hire foreign workers.
Larry Hubich, the president of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour, says it's hard to believe no Saskatchewan people want these jobs.
"It isn't a proactive immigration policy. It's a cheap labour policy," Hubich said.
"There are over 350,000 people working in this country under temporary foreign worker program visas. And we've got hundreds of thousands of people who are unemployed. Those two don't match up for me."
at the bottom of the page, there is a list of companies wanting to hire TFW, most are "UNSKILLED" labour jobs.
mallet 9/13/2013 5:46:16 PM Report
I will certainly not defend the Tempy Worker Program, however there are times when it is necessary to bring in workers because no-one wants to do those jobs that are requested. This is not the only country with that problem but no-one should be working for less than minimum wage..
I can remember the same problem in the UK way back in the late 40's early 50's when a lot of West Indians came to the UK. They took all the menial jobs going in the hospitals and the London underground. None of the local population wanted to do those jobs, so you went to any hospital in London or used the underground and all you saw were West Indian people.
The same goes in this town, Algoma Steel brought in a lot of UK tradesmen, because there was no-one who wanted to work/not qualified in the plant. How many times did I hear people moaning about the plant being on strike because those greedy lot wanted more money, and when asked why they did not work there, "Well I don't want to work in that dirty place and do shift work". There are always two sides to a story, some people do not want to work, some are incapable, and some are just too damn lazy, something to bear in mind, it is always easier to find a job if you have a job!!!
right wing 9/13/2013 6:43:15 PM Report

The point is whether is it responsible of a Prime Minister wannabe to be so callus in calling for legalization when there are so many societal problems and issues yet to be dealt with.
Young kids find all kinds of way to get booze, do we really want them thinking that ordering this stuff and sprinkling it on anything that looks like marijuana and smoking it is a good idea...cause after all mom and dad can buy marijuana at the store.
