(simply Marvellous darlin)
In a strategic move, the GR Braves made a blockbuster trade for MS Mekwan Tulpin.
We are taking a real run at the GR Fastball League playoff championships. We finished in last place. So we traded the future for a title shot.
I gave up 2 first round draft picks in 2014 and 15 for Mekwan’s rights. Mekwan originates from Cree country, in the Fort Albany region and came to us from the Six Nations Womens 2013 All Ontario Champions.
The FA Flash Steve Nolan, owner, manager and major sponsor hustler left me in charge. LoL So I made my first major move.
Mekwan adds speed, versatility and hitting depth. She is a short stop with all the athletic attributes of a world class athlete.
She plays numerous sports all at a highly competitive level.
In addition to her fastball skills, she also excels in lacrosse, winning the Senior Womens Ontario title in 2013.
She is a ball hockey enthusiast and played a stint for the AU basketball team.
I think she is a true GR Brave at heart. When we got to the field, it was apparent that we had no catcher.
When jokingly asked if she wanted to catch, she replied “Sure thing, where are
the knee pads” I can just hear John Fogarty singing “Put me in Coach I’m ready to play....” what a wonderful personality. You have to love the attitude.
There was no whining or excuses just, I’ll do it.
If I had ten players like her I could win everything.
Even I would look like a good coach then.
Now not only did she catch. But she went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring twice in a 5-4 win over the Roadhouse Rattlers.
Did I mention whom she caught? After checking the record books, Ms Mekwan is the first woman to catch, world champion hurler, the dazzling Darren Zack, in a mens fast pitch playoff game.
Unbelievable!!! Fantastic!!! Superb!!!
Can you imagine the young woman, catching a World Champion hurler and doing a great job.
Not only does Mekwan have an over abundance of intestinal fortitude, but she is a very classy, sophisticated young woman, with a heart of gold.
I first met her when she was an tantalizing Turtle in the Turtle Concepts kingdom.
I think we should do a movie about her.
Catching the flame throwing Darren Zack, then going from cleats to high heels, without missing a beat.
What a woman, what an athlete, what a wonderful person and a great friend.
Many Miigwetches for making me look good in this block buster trade. (Now if I can get her to come and play in the next game Tuesday evening in beautiful uptown GR.
Otherwise your’s truly will get fired by the Fire Chief, which seems a bit ironic.)
P.S. Encourage her with your comments here and on facebook to come back and play Tuesday...Otherwise, my next coaching position may be first base coach in some slowpitch league!!!!!
Oh yes she can also do amazing goose calls...maybe I can get her a guest appearance on Duck Dynasty. I could be her agent.... hehehehhee!
