bounder 3/6/2013 7:11:51 AM ReportGood morning Celest5 and everyone else.
Fishing was pretty good yesterday.Lots of nice tasty perch.
bounder 3/6/2013 7:16:50 AM ReportOne more thing I took a picture of something I thought was cute,if you go to classified and look for an add under (new outlet somewhere in Algoma) ,it has a picture.
celeste5 3/6/2013 7:55:15 AM ReportGood morning Bounder, that`s a bright picture, sure stands out.
Have a nice day everyone.
seriously 3/6/2013 8:20:17 AM ReportHello - I'd like to go out for a days' ice fishing. Bounder where are you at? Are there pre-drilled holes? I have an ice auger (manual) BUT I'm barely 100 lbs. My friend and I LOVE perch & want our limit.
bounder 3/6/2013 8:38:12 AM ReportMost of the holes left do freeze again at night,it all depends on the temp, the pic was taken on Goulais Bay about a half mile off shore,Mission Rd.I do see people walk out ,if the wind comes up it gets pretty uncomfortable, perch action will be getting better as soon as they are done spawning, snowmachine and some kind of shelter is highly recommended, good luck.
seriously 3/6/2013 8:52:24 AM ReportGood to hear from you B, thanks. I'm no stranger to perch, I won in 1972 LOL. Harmony derby. I haven't had perch since 1980.
epc 3/6/2013 9:51:38 AM ReportGood Morning Red Roomies
Bounder, all this talk about fish is making me want some badly.
Higher temps today and the rest of the week shoud melt this snow away.
Have a great day and be safe!
Pink Peony 3/6/2013 10:00:42 AM ReportGood morning.
Wicket, let me know what you think if you make that recipe I posted yesterday. I have days like you do although I believe they are from food sensitivities now. I may have had one of my last bacon & eggs type breakfast the other day. I felt great prior and then I felt like crap for a couple of days after having it. I couldn't tie the way I felt to anything else. I noticed that I felt like crap after that type of meal before too.
Anyway, hope you all have a good day today. I need some breakfast. My stomach is growling at me.
Pink Peony 3/6/2013 10:11:00 AM ReportOh yeah and wicket, I have a new email address. I sent you an email from there. Hopefully I got your email addy right.
mallet 3/6/2013 10:49:21 AM ReportMorning All...
Nice to see a few more posts on here today, just seen a guy go sking past with his dog on the shore, quite a bit of flat before the ice mounds.
Fairly overcast this Am and a little breezy to, but temps at the freezing mark, with luck will go above and help the snow melt..
Trip to the dump this PM, (not to see Grump) can't use the one in town, it's the one at Havilland althrough I am not sure how long that will be there.
You all enjoy the less cold days...
Wicket 3/6/2013 11:22:01 AM Reportthanks PP, will check
I am not posting today, there is no sun, I have no motivation - have lots to do, not going to do it.
My upside down smile has tried hard to come out in full force while reading on my Facebook page, has not succeeded.
Yes, I am pouting....and no, I am not going to post today....
Pink Peony 3/6/2013 11:38:37 AM ReportAwww :( GREAT BIG CYBER HUG for you Wicket!! On the bright side, temps are higher and we will see more snow melt this week. Can't wait to go outside and wander around my yard getting ideas of what to do with that garden back there. I need a pro!!
seriously 3/6/2013 11:43:50 AM ReportI would like to know just how far up goulais mission rd. do I have to go?
Any markers...going Thursday. Bait?
Really!
Wicket 3/6/2013 1:02:45 PM ReportPP, I can help you with your garden - for ideas, not for working, and I may even have some plants for you....let's wait until most of the snow is gone..
And thanks for the hugs
bounder 3/6/2013 2:00:29 PM ReportSeriously.
You would have to go at least to the Four season drive turnoff ,right at the 8 or so standup mailboxes, there is a small parking spot right past the boxes, and facing the way you came go back one property and you can cut through the empty one.It has one small litlle trailer on it,no problem. You can see in the distance a group of shacks out there, the fishing is best from 3:00pm on to almost dark.Good luck.
bounder 3/6/2013 2:06:05 PM ReportSeriously.
Sorry, about the bait ,I jig and use 1/2 dace medium size, cut it in half, you should be able to catch at least four or five fish with each half and a small jig.Ultra light rod,so you can see the slightest nibble.
Pink Peony 3/6/2013 2:23:17 PM ReportWicket, that would be good!
Grump 3/6/2013 3:19:21 PM Reportseriously, it has been years but the best perch fishing I ever got into was right off the highway just past LaPointes Point. Didn't seem to be anything but Jumbos there. We fished in about 40 or 50 feet of water and it was slow going until we tied 5 or 6 hooks on about a foot apart. Then you just had to count one set two set etc., then haul them all up. We just used a strip of the belly of the first ones caught for bait. Good luck.
seriously 3/6/2013 3:40:41 PM ReportHello Again: Bounder
Thanks for the info - snow's getting a little mooshy there?... harder walking.
Why don't you just offer me 25 perch - since you're there all the time -..--
seriously 3/6/2013 3:42:54 PM ReportGrump - IS that even legal?
seriously 3/6/2013 3:44:50 PM ReportBounder, it seems like you know your business.
Do you still use perch eyeballs for bait...?
bounder 3/6/2013 3:52:39 PM ReportSeriously ,eyeballs are good if you only want little fish, however an eyeball with 1/2 a minnow works to keep the little guys off,25 perch if you are a member of the first nations, otherwise no can do.
seriously 3/6/2013 3:59:57 PM ReportNo, I'm an uncarted 1/4 Indian. I still love PERCH, Bounder. Send more smoke signals to me about where to go, then.
seriously 3/6/2013 4:24:45 PM ReportP P I have an abundance of flower seeds - do you have any other kind?
bounder 3/6/2013 5:31:28 PM ReportSeriously.
A 1/4 uncarted indian has been ruled in Jan as being Indian. You can catch all you want anywhere as long as you are in your district or have permission to hunt and fish from the local First Nation,if you can prove 1/4 it would be to your advantage to do so.I am and I do have permission here ,my area is Mattawa/North Bay.So bro, go get your family history and join the local MNO,Metis Nation Of Ontario. There are guidelines re: hunting and fishing set by the local FN,as long as you follow their rules you are good,FN realize it's not a free for all .
Pink Peony 3/6/2013 7:10:48 PM ReportHi seriously. My garden is not of my creation although I have cleaned it up a bit. I haven't planted anything in the back because it is nice, although there are many weeds (I call them wildflowers) in one area. I have peonies and Japanese Knotweed (invasive species) and uh, can't think of the name right now...a vine type plant that gets small light pink flowers on it. It's invasive too. As far as seeds go, first I would have to really clean things up in a major way. Not sure if I'll have the energy or not this year. Time will tell.
What kind of seeds do you have? Do you like gardening?
I'm 7th generation native, so I've been told by my grandmother. From what I understand, I don't qualify for native status though.
