celeste5 3/5/2013 6:20:11 AM ReportGood morning Bounder and everyone else.
I`m wide awake, 8 hours of sleep last night.
Good luck with the fishing Bounder.
nanag 3/5/2013 7:14:42 AM ReportGood Morning Everyone
I hope we all have a good day
Smile .. it can change your whole attitude
DutchTouch 3/5/2013 8:43:01 AM ReportICE.... slipping and sliding everywhere.
Watch your step and don't be in a big rush.
Bones take longer to heal than to break.
Lovely sunshine but the wind is cold so bundle up if going out.
Take care all and have a good day.
mallet 3/5/2013 10:32:53 AM ReportMorning All...
One more bright sunny, but cold morning, it cannot last I know but it is so nice after all the dull ones we have had...
Bounder, you be careful out there on that ice, lots of open water out here and some large sheets of very thin stuff, like overnight freezing.
Good advice Dutch, and as you get older they start to take longer to heal too.
You all have a great day out there...
Wicket 3/5/2013 11:15:43 AM ReportArrgggg.. blue skies and sunshine are not going to help me today...why, oh why, when you are tired, can you not sleep. Trying to function on just 3 hours of sleep is not going to cut it for me today... Upside for today, is monthly massage, works wonders on the hips and helps keep me walking - I will sleep all the way through it.
Enjoy your day, thanks for the smiles, keep passing them around...
nanag 3/5/2013 2:35:21 PM ReportWicket
I feel for you my dear. It is most difficult to sleep/rest with pain .
I do hope you enjoy your massage. I am hoping to enjoy one soon.
I will smile at you even tho I am feeling the pang of jealousy :)
Wicket 3/5/2013 4:04:53 PM ReportThanks nanag, massage was wonderful, fell asleep, feel quite good now. Before retirement, massage treatments were every 2 weeks, now down to once a month. I think OHIP should pay for them for older people especially those that live alone - we all need hands on touch in a kind, gentle way - I believe it would improve their mental health by leaps and bounds...
shakespeare 3/5/2013 4:24:35 PM ReportGlad you're feeling better, Wicket. I know that as I get older the sleep thing is more of a bother, but three hours is definitely not enough.
nanag 3/5/2013 4:52:38 PM ReportI would love some hands on ...uhhhh never mind I better not go there... I could do with a foot rub back rub ;0
Went for a walk at the park again... just had to get out in the fresh air. nice. can't wait till it isn't so icy
Pink Peony 3/5/2013 7:19:13 PM ReportWicket, how annoying not to be able to sleep. There was a night not too long ago that I got 4 hours sleep. It's frustrating.
I was diagnosed with osteopenia 6-7 years ago. I have no idea what stage things are at right now but I have noticed a significant change since changing my eating habits. I don't feel pain in my joints so much now.
I think naturopathic doctors should be covered under OHIP. It was a ND that helped me to understand why I got sick and how to avoid it again and how to heal. An MD would have liked to remove part of an organ instead...their version of "healing".
Pink Peony 3/5/2013 7:50:29 PM Report2-4 tbsp chopped nuts (I use walnuts or pecans)
1 ripe banana
1 medium sweet potato (cooked)
oil
1 tbsp fruit sweetener, molasses, etc. (optional)
Dry roast nuts in a pan for a few minutes, shake pan often. Cut banana in half, lengthwise. Cut sweet potato into 1/2 inch pieces. Add oil to pan. Push nuts to outer edges. Place banana flat sides down in pan. Add sweet potatoes. Cover and cook for 2 minutes. Uncover and cook until everything is heated through and browned on one side. Add sweetener before serving.
Can make it for breakfast or as a side with supper, whatever your pleasure is.
I think I'll make turkey cacciatore tomorrow.
Wicket 3/5/2013 8:32:33 PM ReportThanks everyone for the kinds words, one of the annoying ailments I have is fibromyalgia and it is the fibro that keeps me awake at night - no pain, just can't sleep, it used to only happen every 5-6 weeks, then down to 3-4, now it seems to be every couple of weeks. It is more annoying than anything as it leaves me totally useless the next day.
Thanks for the recipe PP, I think I will try it tomorrow...
