Grump 3/4/2013 7:42:08 AM Report

Good morning everyone. It's nice to see that some nice folks have appeared among the swamp creatures. It bodes well for mankind that all have not become swampers. Have a great day all.
right wing 3/4/2013 7:58:20 AM Report

Q: Why did God give Liberals annoying whiny voices?
A: So that even the blind could dislike them
flyhawk25 3/4/2013 8:16:59 AM Report

Only five more sleeps until the Winter Summit.
Wisenheimer 3/4/2013 8:30:42 AM Report

Liberals always assume they are "nicer"
Their policies will "nice" you to death.
Exhibit #1 .. McGuinty's Ontario.
shakespeare 3/4/2013 8:36:08 AM Report

Have a nice day, Wisen.
Resident 3/4/2013 9:51:43 AM Report

Good one shakey!
skipper dave 3/4/2013 10:30:07 AM Report

Good morning sweet Soo!
Setting the agenda for the summit. Don't you dare. This is a meet and greet and the number one rule of engagement is have fun. I take my coffee black if anyone is buying and no I no longer drink. It appears I'm allergic to alcohol and break out in spots, tragic eh? Last time I went on a bender I woke up in Montreal, time before that Detroit. Some people know how to drink sociably I do not. A beer or drink has been an acceptable social lubricant for thousands of years but interestingly enough drunkenness has always been frowned upon.
I do question the title of winter summit as a bit of a stretch. I consider March to be a time of winters grasp on us to be in it's last stages. March is a time of a much brighter sun, dropping snow banks, the sound of running water, St Patricks day and Summits. Bring it on.
skipper dave 3/4/2013 10:43:07 AM Report

Now the stuff that really counts (I learned this when I was a practicing catlick - Mass every Sunday) What to wear? Probably start with a shower and clean goonies and absolutely no spandex. Dress slacks with a solid colour shirt and matching dickie. After all we tend to judge people by how well they pay their bills so I want to encourage the illusion of having untold wealth and am living in the lap of luxury. Reality is quite different but do they have to know? But for the record let me make it very clear I no longer have a stash of gold bullion secreted beneath my mattress. Gave that up when I sobered up. Look forward to seeing you their whatever mask you decide to wear.
flyhawk25 3/4/2013 10:54:35 AM Report

Skipper...I mulled over calling Saturday's shindig a Winter Summit. For about ten seconds.
See that leaves it open for a Spring Summit when the blossoms come out in May. And a ...you get the idea.Who cares what it's called.
It's flexible and non-threatening.
Grump 3/4/2013 11:03:28 AM Report

Skipper no mask, what you see is what you get. Now wisen, McGuity certainly secrewed up but by Harper he pales by comparison. I guess that's hard for you ne-con swampers to get even though everyone but swampers can smell your leaders B.S. a mile away. That would include your posse comander rw who knows all and understand nothing. Now all you swamper have yourselves a real fine day there ya all.
old-cat33 3/4/2013 11:33:59 AM Report

I'd wear my mask to the summit but it stinks...LOL.
Now when the lady (sweetie) sings the anthem before the Greyhound games the Greyhounds WIN!.....Just saying.
I think women sound good singing the anthem.
everson 3/4/2013 11:35:36 AM Report

Amen Grump. the right wingers can't see beyond the truth.
everson 3/4/2013 11:37:46 AM Report

I am tired of my tax dollars going toward an "Action Plan" program that is "what" ?
flyhawk25 3/4/2013 12:04:37 PM Report

everson...'action plans' are political double-speak for "Uh we have done nothing so far, it looks like the taxpayers are catching on so...'We are moving forward to move forward to changing things we screwed up and want to get the stink off our image'.
The fact that they call it 'action' is a misnomer. They'll drop a pile of our money, fly around the country or province on our dime and have it catered.
They'll use terms like 'we have clearly taken action to act once we gather all the facts'...on tough issues like why shit flows down hill, why criminals do criminal things and whether pigs have wings.
Simple.
And I hope that word does not get me sent to the time-out corner.
Voiceofreason 3/4/2013 12:56:26 PM Report

rw, Why did god make a right wing and left wing? Because if we're right then someone had to be wrong.
Grump 3/4/2013 2:10:47 PM Report

Voice that is really pathetic. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny. Carry on making an ass of yourself.
skipper dave 3/4/2013 2:13:50 PM Report

Fly - You cynical bastard. Did you not see the 8 x 10 glossy of the provincial Libs Committee For Doing Something for the North? It's a committee Fly I think thats one above an action group. And they actually had the equivalent of a summit devoted solely for taking care of the north. You could feel the love in the room. Now I hope your not suggesting that good lady Premier had her whole liberal MPP gang flown to the Sault and put up at the tax payers dime, why they just wouldn't do that, the cost would be horrendous to fly that size group, feed, wine and provide security. I hear they all stayed at Davey's place, crashed on the floor of the David "O" picture library room, on cots provided by the 49th.
right wing 3/4/2013 2:19:13 PM Report

Grump

Speaking of making an ass of oneself....
What is really sad and pathetic is your overreaction to what voiceofreason posted.

Like lighten up....
flyhawk25 3/4/2013 2:24:32 PM Report

Skipper...actually I am a bastard. A mistake of birth.
However those guys are all self-made.
Obviously you don't understand The Big Picture.
Never mind that they have been running Ontario for some time and apparently just discovered it does not end in Parry Sound now that Tim 'Wild Thing' Hudak is nipping at their ankles.
Relax.
After the election we'll return to third world status and we'll go back to monthly snow plowing by foreign workers.
Voiceofreason 3/4/2013 2:38:17 PM Report

It really is amazing to read your posts Grump. You should take life a little less seriously. Laugh a little. Maybe then you could change your name to "Content."
Brianne 3/4/2013 3:38:46 PM Report

Aghhhhhhhh, you guys always have the "summit" when i have to work :*(

In the meantime"

"Did you ever stop to think about all the people we kill ? They're always the people who tell us to live together in harmony and try to love one another;

Jesus, Ghandi, John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy ,Medgar Evers , Malcolm X , Martin Luther King, John Lennon. They all said " Try to live together peacefully"

BAM ! Right in the f'n head ! Apparently, we're not ready for that !"

- George Carlin
shakespeare 3/4/2013 4:12:25 PM Report

Sorry to hear that you can't make it to the summit, Brianne. It does, however, give everyone else a chance to talk about you behind your back!(all nice, of course)

Thanks to the Conservative jokesters for their thigh-slapping humour today.
I see that Mr Rodman is prepping himself for a run at Secretary of State if Kerry doesn't work out.

I'm just wondering that if Voice, Wisen and Spelly are part of rw's posse, is Grace part of his pussy posse?
Voiceofreason 3/4/2013 4:22:07 PM Report

Anytime shakey!
Grump 3/4/2013 4:32:01 PM Report

An excellent question Shakey. These neo-cons are amazing, if they don't like the theme then we are supposed to lighten up or bubble with humour. And then these swamp darlings accuse everyone else of not having any humour. I think they believe the world is wrong but not them. That said I haven't heard any asinine defences of their hero Harper lately. I guess even the most delusional couldn't pull that off.
right wing 3/4/2013 4:32:52 PM Report

"is Grace part of his pussy posse?"

Wow, shakespeare...that was completely uncalled for.
I believe you owe Grace an apology.
I have never met her and she is a very respectful poster.
Take all the shots you want at me...but I am surprised this coming from you.
You are one of the lefties that I actually (usually) respect.
right wing 3/4/2013 4:37:55 PM Report

Grump

Knock, knock.
Who's there?
An idiot.
Who?
Grump....
shakespeare 3/4/2013 4:40:18 PM Report

You're right, rw. I just love playing around with words and that one should maybe have stayed in the playful cerebral area. Sorry Grace!
Voiceofreason 3/4/2013 4:41:29 PM Report

rw, Grump didn't get it.
right wing 3/4/2013 4:44:19 PM Report

...I was thinking somebody had highjacked your computer.

Leave the low shots to us swamp folks.

;)
AceOfBass 3/4/2013 4:55:46 PM Report

Shakespeare you should pack up your crap and go back to the third world country you came from.
right wing 3/4/2013 4:58:14 PM Report

"That said I haven't heard any asinine defences of their hero Harper lately."

Grump

It's spelled defenses.
Correct you are, asinine is the only level you understand and since there are not any to defend what would be the point.
shakespeare 3/4/2013 5:02:11 PM Report

"defences" is correct, rw.
Enjoy your shot, acey. I've given you enough!
Pink Peony 3/4/2013 5:04:33 PM Report

Lots of friendly conversation going on in here today. Don't some of you people get tired of bickering and nitpicking day in and day out.
right wing 3/4/2013 5:06:06 PM Report

...shoot, is that one of those Canadian, American, British spelling conundrums.

Well than sorry grump...but only on the spelling it wrong part...the rest stands.
BIG BROTHER 3/4/2013 5:06:47 PM Report

Shakey,
I had a visual of you with one hand tied behind your back.

Carry on. I'm enjoying the 'slice and dice'!
right wing 3/4/2013 5:08:48 PM Report

Pink Peony

How dare you call our very well thought out, carefully worded, intellectual world problem solving...bickering and nitpicking.

right wing 3/4/2013 5:10:54 PM Report

big bro

How's the sniper doing these days.
right wing 3/4/2013 5:19:51 PM Report

Hey I know...how about you do one of your "green energy" defense rambles to all of us in Ontario.
Tell us how it should reach parity soon.
Perhaps you can shed some "light" (pun intended) on how it is going to lead Ontario forward....since it's one of the the top of the many stupid ideas the Liberals had.
Hey lets pay ten times the cost for energy for twenty years...we get to use the buzz word "green".
It's going to screw the Ontario economy for a couple of decades but don't it make you feel all warm and fuzzy doing something "green".
Voiceofreason 3/4/2013 5:21:15 PM Report

rw, I feel so fuzzy right now.
right wing 3/4/2013 5:26:16 PM Report

...me too, I received my PUC bill recently.
I looked and looked but the only "green" I could see was the grotesque amount automatically taken out of my account.
shakespeare 3/4/2013 5:35:11 PM Report

I have restrained myself, as I'm in a sackcloth and ashes mode right now, but before someone else steps in, may I suggest that

"Well than sorry grump...but only on the spelling it wrong part"

should be

"Well THEN ... "

It's hardly worth mentioning.
BIG BROTHER 3/4/2013 5:39:20 PM Report

Normally, it would hardly be worth it. But the irony is the point, not the actual spelling error.

Carry on!
AceOfBass 3/4/2013 5:42:50 PM Report

We can thank the Liberals for the high hydro rates and their green energy nonsense.

218 billion debt and the Ontario liberals keep blaming the previous governments of 10 years ago.

The only reason Shakespeare got in the country was the slack liberal rules.

everson 3/4/2013 5:46:24 PM Report

If my husband was trolling the forum as much as rw the pointy boot would be shown.
everson 3/4/2013 5:52:56 PM Report

Ace please 800 billion debt with Harper is the biggest sin, am I not correct?
Grump 3/4/2013 6:08:09 PM Report

No point everson, from rw down the IQ scale to Ace, none of them get it. It's rude to call them rednecks but Fly was far more polite so he coined "swamp people" and there you have it.
right wing 3/4/2013 6:25:39 PM Report

...shakespeare, what took you so long.
right wing 3/4/2013 6:30:06 PM Report

everson

...a pointy boot is the last thing a husband sees on a wife that rides a broom.
right wing 3/4/2013 6:47:17 PM Report

Swamp people.
I take as a complement.

"Deep in the heart of the North American Continent lies many of the world's largest swamps--a million miles of inhospitable bayous, marshes and wetlands where nature rules and humans struggle to tame it. Many of its inhabitants are the hardened descendants of French refugees who were forced out of Canada in the 18th century and settled in this harsh yet majestic environment. Today, these people are known as the Cajuns, a group renowned throughout the world for their flavorful cuisine, distinctive music and vibrant culture. Resilient, self-reliant and fiercely independent, the Cajuns of the Atchafalaya Swamp still carry on many of their ancestors' trades and traditions."

...I'll take that over claiming liberal alliance any day.
shakespeare 3/4/2013 6:58:59 PM Report

What took me so long? If you want to know, cooking a teriaki chicken and vegetable stir fry with rice. The sauce was slightly too sweet for me (even though I prepared it), but my wife loved it.

"If my husband was trolling the forum as much as rw the pointy boot would be shown"

rw's excuse is "No dear, I'm not on sootoday ... really ... it's O.K. ... I'm just watching porn"

This time won't take so long ... "compliment" ... "complement" means something that completes something.

Darn: I'm feeling so bad, today! However, I am not going to zing acey, although he may like to know that PET was the PM who sanctioned my entry into the country.
right wing 3/4/2013 6:59:40 PM Report

A liberal would last about three minutes in the swamp.
The first thing they would do is protest the gator hunt.
The gator would end up with heartburn but a dummy wading around in the swamp with a sign saying "save the gators" just rings their dinner bell....
right wing 3/4/2013 7:03:07 PM Report

"This time won't take so long ... "compliment" ... "complement" means something that completes something."

shakespeare

Thanks, I did not know that.
Given the daily butchering that goes on here...I'm not all that concerned...but I do always love to learn.
shakespeare 3/4/2013 7:05:15 PM Report

As Skipper would say (I owe him one)
"Your welcome"
Resident 3/4/2013 7:10:49 PM Report

I doubt that there would be any swamps or "natural" land if rw had his way. Much too environmental and a detriment to big business.
Pink Peony 3/4/2013 7:15:13 PM Report

LIKE
shakespeare 3/4/2013 7:17:02 PM Report

On another topic, I generally don't follow movie awards or ratings, but, because everyone had raved about it, we decided to do a pay per view of Skyfall, last night. Now I know that Bond movies are not award material, but I did enjoy Connery and Moore, but both my wife and I found Skyfall to be tedious, far too long and basically short of an interesting plot. Even Daniel whatshisname seems to be devoid of character. And Judi Dench (and I saw her in Stratford, England when I was 16 and she was really hot) had nothing. The best part of the movie was the introduction.
right wing 3/4/2013 7:23:22 PM Report

Resident

Oh boy you nailed me.
right wing 3/4/2013 7:25:08 PM Report

shakespeare

I am a huge Bond movie fan.
The Mrs. and I did the same.
We both thought it was the worse Bond movie ever made.
right wing 3/4/2013 7:30:00 PM Report

...now that you brought up movies.
We also watched Argo.
Best picture?
I guess Lincoln really sucked. (not seen it yet)
Argo was good but talk about ripping off the role that Canada really did play in the whole affair.
statusquo 3/4/2013 7:38:05 PM Report

I watched an adult version of "The Wizard of Oz"....aptly re-named of course as "The Jizard Of Oz"...the dialogue was not bad but those flying monkeys really had endurance.
Dorothy was hot but Toto looked mostly disgusted throughout the flick.
shakespeare 3/4/2013 7:38:59 PM Report

I agree. I read a disclaimer that said that all movies based on fact tend to distort facts to make them more interesting, but the truth here was that the facts were distorted to enhance the US role, not to make it more interesting. I didn't watch the awards ceremony last night but I hear that Martin Short said " I flew here on Air Canada .. or as Ben Affleck would say, American Airlines"

My favourite Bonds were "From Russia with Love" and "Goldfinger" with the delightful Pussy Galore (sorry again, Grace)
statusquo 3/4/2013 7:39:31 PM Report

Point of interest...Toto was played by Ace's pooch "Blackie".
right wing 3/4/2013 7:44:38 PM Report

Hey stats...hows the crotch rot going.
I really enjoyed "doing the oral" with you last night...really reminded me of old times.

Ready to click your heels?
everson 3/4/2013 8:04:07 PM Report

sorry rw your joke is droll much like your day to day mantra. I drive a Toyota..
flyhawk25 3/4/2013 8:14:44 PM Report

I am just one click away from watching Argo on Shaw on Demand.
I cannot. Knowing the 'real reel story' just bothers me too much.
I'd rather watch re-runs of The Godfather.
As Ron Howard says - if there is truth and there is fiction - print the fiction.
But there are a whole bunch of people who think WWF is reality and the NFL is not our version of Gladiators 'R' Us.
Does anyone else remember radio drama, books and imagination?
everson 3/4/2013 8:15:57 PM Report

Right wing ...loneliness must be hard on you. Smile something must love you .
everson 3/4/2013 8:27:54 PM Report

One word for right wing and gang, Sheeple.
mallet 3/4/2013 8:34:57 PM Report

Shakespeare...

What really does Bond films for me is, Shirley Eaton, Ursula Andress and Halle Berry. Connery will always be the consumate "Bond" and Lazenby the worst, cannot for the life of me understand who cast him in the role. Was never a fan of Honor Blackman from her Avenger days. Have not seen the lastest one, I will wait until it comes on tv, I'm a cheap SoB.
Voiceofreason 3/4/2013 10:01:29 PM Report

Hahahahaha everson, that's funny because that's exactly what we think of people like you. Uneducated followers that think because what they attribute themselves to is against the majority or what has been previously proven to be fact, you are somehow elite. Don't kid yourself everson, I'd compare your lack of intelligence to grumps but you are miles below him (it wouldn't be fair to grump).
Wisenheimer 3/4/2013 10:42:39 PM Report

Hey Grumpy ... You and Eversons make a perfect pair. You the blow hard " Foghorn Leghorn" and her the "chicken hawk". Can help you out with the analogy if you are struggling with it. You in "Pembrooke" (sic) yet?
