Grump 3/3/2013 8:26:36 AM ReportGood morning everyone, time to rock and roll. rw I swear you are going to have to get a new posse as I have stumps in my backyard brighter than most of them. They are reflecting badly on you. Brianne why not buy drones so he can zap those pesky lefties and Liberals. No wonder Flaterty is looking so worn out, Harper wants to spend and Jim's credit card is maxed out. I have a tough time when the posse start praising this government, you know it's the old rating system. eg dumb, dumber and dumbest and it's damn hard to fit them all in in the proper places. Add to that we now we have a tie for dumbest with another contender doing his best to make it a three way tie. Have a great day all, I have to run over to the site to check a couple of things.
skipper dave 3/3/2013 8:36:42 AM ReportGood morning sweet Soo!
Six more sleeps and we get to meet face to face, I'm nervous aren't you? I mean what if we make a great break thru and actually like your favourite protagonist. After all I've never met "Are Dubya" face to face and I've certainly done my share of " kick butt". Wonder if he observes the rules about no hitting one-armed bald guys in public. Maybe I will sit beside Fly and rw will forget about me and growl at Fly for the afternoon. It was nice to meet Shakey and some other dear friends at Searchmount yesterday. Jeez there's another one, shakey comes over to the table all dressed up for the world giant slalom. Another spandex freak lookin like a giant banana in his bright neon spandex jump suit complete with racing stripe. Jeez in this get up you could tell if he was a gentile or jew, swear to gawd.
The ski hill is an ideal venue for a recovering cancer patient to be infused with inspiration. All these middle age guys and older hanging out with their buddies for a beer than out to the hill to courageously cheat death one more time and live to tell the tale. What a bunch. p.s. Think I'll stick to sailing.

Good morning Grump!
Did you buy your house with all those stumps on the property?
You do know they have these tall things called trees that you could grow in your back yard.
The dump is not just for fighting...you can dig out the stumps and bring them with you on your next fight night.
Hope this helps you with your stump problem.
...and do you really "run" to the site?

Treat me nice

It's not fair to tease
So if you come on cold
I'm really gonna freeze
If you don't want me to be cold as ice
Treat me nice
Make me feel at home
If you really care
Scratch my back and run your pretty
Fingers through my hair
You know I'll be your slave
If you ask me to
But if you don't behave
I'll walk right out on you
If you want my love then take my advice

statusquo 3/3/2013 1:54:58 PM ReportThe Catholic Church as well as any other form of organized religion is primarily a political entity and has very little to do with spirituality.
It is about power. The Vatican is grotesquely rich ( something something about a camel and the eye of the needle just doesn't seem to jive) and caters to the insecurities of the faithful.
It's grasp on the souls of the sheep, as it were, is slowly fading in industrialized countries but gaining in developing countries . I would not be surprised if the new Pope is strategically elected from an African or another developing, 3rd-world country. It is a well calculated and carefully orchestrated ritual. They already know who the next Pope will be.
I personally don't care one way or another, but I am fascinated by the process.
The genesis of the rise of the Catholic Church can be researched, or "googled" if you will, by looking into the influence Emperor Constantine's wife had on the political decision making process during the fading days of the Roman empire. Hence, the birth of this cult was politically spawned and continued with a ruthless history throughout the ages, from persecution, to the inquisition and to not to far off events like residential schools right here in our own backyard.
And all we got so far from the Vatican, are luke-warm apologies.
The irresponsible stance on the evils of condoms, specifically in sub-saharan African countries is indefensible.
The facilitating of Nazi war criminals, known as the "ratlines"..i.e to sneek away from prosecution and to find safe haven in South America is a topic to vast to delve into at this point.
Last but not least, other than lame apologies and a promise to do better, I have not seen a genuine outrage by the Vatican hierarchy in light of the uncovering of systemic and institutionalized child sexual molestation.
In my book, the Catholic Faith is no better or worse than Scientology.
End of sermon from SQ for today kids.
Next topic up for discussion is the idiotic cult of Islam.
Take a number as seats are limited.
Thank you for your support...God bless each and every one of you "littul" lemmings.
right wing 3/3/2013 2:04:03 PM ReportOne.
flyhawk25 3/3/2013 2:10:41 PM ReportIf you view the Catholic church as a business and not a religion it helps to understand the current dilemma.
They are losing market share.
I drove by a local pentecostal church this week and its sign read a message to the effect to join them in a praise service.
Compare that to the RC church down the street up to its knees in lent - repent, fast and sacrifice. One is selling McHappy Experiences and the other doom and gloom with the possibility of salvation if they sacrifice enough.
Which one will today's consumer buy?
So what does management do? They throw out the good news of Vatican II celebrating the people of God and the social justice message from the sermon on the mount for more hierarchical control and blind faith and obedience.
Like radical Muslims sooner than later an intelligent, educated group will start to see the myth of control and either walk away or rebel.
Sooner than later with the effect of social media, good journalism and the rule of law will render it a blip on the historical timeline.

I appreciate where you're coming from and I had the same experience with another, "revered" blue room poster.
I made it clear to him that our interactions will be over as he became rather personal.....this blog is for entertainment purposes only !
Some folks will take this blog far too seriously...maybe it's their only outlet as no one in their personal life will listen to them.
Hell, my own family thinks I'm an idiot!
The difference is...they know me! They know what I am all about.
It is one thing to disagree on political or social issues...quite another to engage in personal attacks loaded with information gathered on a one on one interaction and then using said information to try to win the upper hand in a public forum in order to gain points.
The anonymity of this site is great...it allows an insight into peoples minds that would otherwise be clouded.
I would like to remain anonymous even though nothing I posted in here I would not divulge in a face to face encounter.
People that know me know that I am an idiot. I know that I am an idiot.
Some folks posting on here are not aware that they are idiots.
Hence the danger.

Voiceofreason 3/3/2013 4:08:06 PM ReportI'll agree with that one for sure. Parents are a bit too naive too, i.e. "My son/daughter has better morals than that."
People need to wake up and realize what actually happens.
Voiceofreason 3/3/2013 4:10:21 PM ReportSorry rw, I respectfully disagree. It isn't up to you to decide that as a parent. When sexual maturity hits, the decision is already made.

Voiceofreason 3/3/2013 4:19:11 PM Reportrw, there were a few lads in my 6th grade class that "matured" before most. The guessing game of when exactly your kids become adolescents is a foolish game to be involved in. When boys and girls start looking at each other, it's only a matter of time. The days of saving yourself until marriage have much surpassed us.

Even though I have retired from public music performance (travel makes me miss too many gigs) I will sing for you rw.
Sex education is an interesting topic. I remember when I was first told by a friend how I was conceived, I punched him in the face and told him, "My parents would never do that."

What practices can and can't.
It is astonishing to think about the number of folks that think HIV can be transmitted through oral sex or casual contact.
The booklet just showed the proper application of a rain coat..i.e condom.
It wasn't too long ago when girls where married off at 14 or 15 years of age.
Talk about the "good ole days"...more depraved than what we have today.
right wing 3/3/2013 4:39:40 PM ReportVoiceofreason
Saving yourself until marriage...not likely to happen is it.
I agree, very dangerous if you are a blind parent.
Don't know if you raised any children, I did.
My parents did not talk about sex, it was common with that generation.
Most parents from my generation that I knew were not naive enough to think their kids were angels.
All children will at some point cross the line and become sexually active...chances are they will want to do it again so that is when they need to have all the needed education to make proper choices.
A balance is important, talks with Mom and Dad along with information from school will help them to sort out what they hear on the street.
I just do not agree with a blanket statement that "most" parents in this day and age are ill equipped to provide their children with helpful information.

That is why I believe it is great that they teach it in schools.

To: Teakrry man, just still a bit concerned. As you can see from the time lapsed between posts, I think you have presented a very convincing argument against the possibility of transmission. Yet my concern does come back from time to time. Especially since I have felt a bit under the weather the past few days, although not flu-like. I did have a skinned knee that has been commented on, but not by you. I'd like to have your opinion of that if I could get it, but either way I will do my best to refrain from posting again on this thread. Thanks

Myths.
HIV cannot be transmitted through oral sex
It is agreed that oral sex has a much lower HIV-infection risk than vaginal and anal sex. A 1998 meta-analysis concluded that the risk of HIV transition through receptive oral sex, when there is contact between semen, vaginal fluid or saliva and the mucus membranes of the mouth, is greater than previously thought due to the decline in other high-risk activities. The risk of infection from a single encounter is small, but it increases with frequency of activity.
Transmission risk may be elevated in the case of open sores on the genitals and/or mouth, or significant gum disease or bleeding, i.e., when there is direct contact between semen and breaks in the skin or surface of the mouth.

What is your point?
HIV is spread through only three channels,

2. Intravenous injections with infected blood
3. Mother to child during child birth
No other instances of infection avenues have been scientifically reported.

The risks are very low, that is a given.
Read some of the studies, there are plenty.
The general consensus is it is hard to always determine if HIV was transferred by a specific act since the study groups partake in various acts.
The other general consensus is that HIV can be contracted via oral sex and the risk is increased with the frequency of the act.
In short you cannot say that it cannot be contracted orally...rare and low risk yes.

shakespeare 3/3/2013 6:45:25 PM Reportrw: I know you're chomping at the bit on this one, but yes, I did meet the venerable (given the latest topic, better make sure that I spell it properly) Skipper, yesterday, but no I was not attired in any form of tight fitting apparel, nothing neon, nothing yellow. Why do I protest so much? I just hate spandex and I hate yellow and I can't stomach bananas. And I guess that will lead you back to the previous discussion ...
statusquo 3/3/2013 6:49:19 PM ReportI guess that in order to prove my point..if rw shows up at the summit,I am going to have him give me a "hummer"...as distressful as it is I am committed to my cause.
statusquo 3/3/2013 6:54:24 PM ReportShakes,
Yellow is my favorite colour and bananas are my favorite vegetable.
Dolphin is my favourite "fish"...lean and low in cholesterol.
Spellchecker 3/3/2013 6:56:03 PM ReportThe blue room poster got personal after Mr. Entertainment called him insane for having a worldview opposed to his own.
skipper dave 3/3/2013 7:21:08 PM ReportShakey my apologies - I've been a teller of stories my whole life and feel no guilt using free license to embellish a story for entertainment value OR I could fall back on Chemo Brain or inner child but yes you are right and I'm thinking pickle not banana. There have I rectified my gaffe? From now on I will only portrait you as the svelte pleasantly rotund gentlemen you are and not dressed in yellow.
It's not the truth or lie of the story but the telling of the story that counts. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
Voiceofreason 3/3/2013 7:22:57 PM Reportstats, HIV is spread via oral sex. Not as easily, but I wouldn't chance it.
skipper dave 3/3/2013 8:16:11 PM ReportStats - You've crossed over the lines of all decency. Performing a hummer on a Plumber? What are you thinking if at all? I'm betting HIV is not even on the radar but by his stock and trade you will never know where his member has been.
skipper dave 3/3/2013 8:18:32 PM ReportMy apologies - I confused the hummie with the hummer. Go figure
Grump 3/3/2013 8:45:05 PM ReportI can only add. "If it's not well scrubed, don't eat it". Over and out.
Brianne 3/3/2013 8:46:59 PM Reportrw, are you talking as in "credible sites" as in government funded facilities ?.......... cause, um, yah, nevermind.
You must have a long neck keeping your head buried in the sand all the time :)
shakespeare 3/3/2013 9:51:13 PM ReportBrianne: he's keeping his head buried somewhere, and he's not coming up for air.
sparks7 3/4/2013 12:45:47 AM ReportStatus
"People that know me know I am an idiot.I know that I am an idiot"
Now that is good Stuff Status. It has been my experience that people who think of themselves as being really smart are dumber than the the stumps that used to be in Grumps backyard.People who are truly smart know that they don't really know dick.Perverse,I know, same as the stock market.
For Christsakes do not loose any sleep over anything I might post on here.
Shakey
How's the pellucidity for you?
sparks7 3/4/2013 12:56:02 AM Report pellucidatious enough?
