celeste5 2/23/2013 6:52:37 AM ReportGood morning Bounder and everyone else.
Bounder, do you eat fish everyday?
It`s a nice morning, I think I`ll take a walk to Walmart for some light groceries, my friend takes me shopping for the heavier stuff.
My son will be pleased, I`m finally forced to buy a new pair of running shoes.
I lost the sole of my shoe while out walking, I was making too many tracks, I lost 5 pounds walking.
While everybody, have a nice day.
Grump 2/23/2013 8:31:30 AM ReportGood morning all, more damn snow. Have a great day everyone.
epc 2/23/2013 10:13:17 AM ReportGood Morning Grump and everyone else!!!
Nice to see you this morning Grump. We are on the plus side of temps here for the next few days. But, it is dull and dreary and makes me just want to cuddle up with a book.
My ereader died and I miss it terribly. One of my daughters said she will buy me a new one. So in the meantime I am buying books and using the library. Old school.
Take care and have a great day!
Pilgrim 2/23/2013 10:58:14 AM ReportI'd be lost without my e-reader...I will still buy the odd book but for travelling, esecially....it's no contest.
I also like the fact that I can sync or get books downloaded to it from the library....
For Spellchecker....withdrawl is over...got my first fix last evening...and again today then"THE BIG SHOW"....
Reading some of the comments over in "the other place" about Danica...they all seem to forget that she has paid her dues and was a pretty damn good driver in the open wheel series (2005 - 2011)before she moved to NASCAR...
Speaking of memories, there used to be a restaurant in Sault MI...small place, on the road going out towards the old Glen's on the righ,t that served the best "skillet breakfast" in a real skillet...eggs over hash.....Yummmmmm
Well everyone...have great day and please...be safe....
mallet 2/23/2013 11:09:22 AM ReportMorning All...
Half time, and my home town team one down, losing again.. going to end up in the relegation battle this year for sure.
yes, more snow, just what we need.. open water out on the lake though so maybe a early spring yet, who knows...
You all have a great weekend..
Wicket 2/23/2013 11:57:07 AM Report'morning all; weather is trying hard to give us blue skies and sunshine, hope it succeeds.
I got an e-reader for Christmas, haven't used it as yet, still have at least 100 books on hand to read. Was checking the prices on the e-reader and I can still get used books at half the price and most of them are from one-time readers, clean and some look like they were not even read. Return them to bookstore, get credit, we run around $80.00 credit all the time. We purchase from two stores out of town when we are in Sudbury and Petoskey. Don't know if I like the new way to read, love holding a book and feeling the texture of the paper.
Pilgrim 2/23/2013 12:30:56 PM ReportI too like tho hold a book, but I m now finding how convenient it is to carry " "the book" around..many books really...and I like the fact that I can sync it to the iPad...back lighting... and that dictionary feature...
mallet 2/23/2013 1:18:45 PM ReportHA.. a last gasp win for my home town team... beat Everton two one at home for the city crowd to enjoy... be lots of beer drunk tonight in the remaining pubs in the city...First win in the last ten games, hopefully a resurgence of the last years winning streak...
nanag 2/23/2013 2:26:15 PM Reportepc
my granddaughter's kobo seemed dead as a doornail but my daughter reset it.. have u tried it? on the kobo, at least ,there is the smallest of pin holes on lower back at center. You use a small pin and gently push then turn it on and it will reset (my daughter actually used her pierced earring)
its worth a try
epc 2/23/2013 5:27:31 PM Reportnanag
I did have the Kobo and tried the resetting. Took it back to chapters and they tried too. Called customer support and there was nothing they could do. It was dead...
The thing is I only had it for 18 months. They told me warranty was only good for 1 year unless I bought the extended. I didn't.
I was out of luck. not even a $10. credit towards a new one. I completed the survey they sent me regards to my experience with Customer Support. Told them it was good, but that their product "sucks".. I used nicer words. And that I would never buy a Kobo again.
Just got my new ereader today from my daughter and it is a Sony like I requested.
Wicket....I can download free books and books from the library. Also tons of books with reduced prices.
I love the fact that I can download whenever I want and read exactly what I want and when.
Plus I don't like to have stuff hanging around the house and feel quilty about what to do with the old books.
