Morning All..
Yep, same here Bounder, open water and floating ice, a little early this year, normal is around the middle/end of March...
Well it's Friday again, time to go do the mail run and get the paper to see what has gone on this week. A little less bright this AM, some fairly thick overcast and the wind is a little less calm today..
You all take care out there I am thinking this could be a messy weekend, however I have put in a request to mother nature to keep the storm track well to the south...

Momma went to the store last evening. When she got home she realized she had lost $5.00. She has the habit of sticking the change in her jacket pocket. This morning I had to go out for something. Found the money beside the car. Came home with two Timmies and thanked her for buying them for us.

Hey 3Tac, welcome back, wasn't sure if you would make it. Hopefully we will hear from Spelly, get some words of the week and some good stories. Although he has done an excellent job and there are not very many spelling errors any longer - it will be the Reader's Digest version.

karebear - nice to see you pop in last night. Bertolos owned Peachys long after the Adanac was bulldozed along with the Greyhound terminal.
We are trying to remember where else they operated a restaurant in the Soo, in the 70s, one brother opened a big restaurant on the old highway 17 in Whitefish, just outside of Sudbury. I think it had a motel also. Soo hockey teams of all ages would stop there for meals, whether it be breakfast, lunch, supper or snack food before the drive back to the Soo.
Can anyone else help out..with info.

I've just had a look at yesterday's red room postings and it's nice to see some activity in here again.

Spelly, to avoid being flogged by a wet noodle in the blue room, you could post their spelling mistakes in the red room and then 3Tac could compile the story.. Do you think that would work, I know they wouldn't learn a lesson unless they came in here.

Wicket, that would negate my purpose for doing the WORDS OF THE WEEK. I take some satisfaction when occasionally someone learns something from them and doesn't come back with the same errors. It doesn't happen often though. Usually the same errors keep coming back.

I must say though, that I had much greater success in the old Red Room than I did in the Blue Room. It was really fun in here in the early days.

I just got in off the highway and am glad to get home.
It's getting pretty wild out here east of the Sault. Complete whiteouts with that wind.

I would just love to have to seek medical attention after 4 hours, however apart from the wife, (who is now one of the nuns, none of this none of that, and certainly none of the other) thats leaves Sadie the husky, who has a very senistive anal area (ask the vet who wants her temperature) and then there are those very nice surgeons at the SRHC Cardiac unit, who when asked about those and other pills of that variety, checked my age and heart condition and started laughing... I got the point!!!

Seems to be taking this ole body a lot longer to bounce back from injury
Love all the chat on walking down memory lane
Does anyone remember when the museum on Queen was an unemployment office?

Sandy - Bay Mills was awesome. We started with crab. Then prime rib, BBQ ribs and haddock with veggies and taters. Then salad and a bit more crab. As if that was not enough we each had a piece of cheesecake.
It was painful though. My RA fingers and hang nails are hurting, but I can live with that temporary pain.

When I first came to Canada, that was the ManPower/Employment office, not sure when it changed but that was 1974. Picked a couple of jobs off the boards there, no computers in those days, and you could talk to someone who would generally have an answer for you. T. G. I would not want to go through the system today, I actually feel sorry for the young people of today, so much has changed and not necessarily for the better!!

glass floor is still there - 2nd floor, has a display in the centre with window walls around it so you can't step on it. When my Dad worked there I would always walk around on the edges cause I didn't want to fall through. It actually had heavy wooden deks, chairs and employees on top of it.

karebear - sounds like a yummy dinner, used to really like going there, but find buffet eating a tad boring now as they all seem to be the same at the Michigan casinos. We are into finding good home cooking in small family owned restaurants when we go into Michigan now - have had good success...
