Good morning everyone, I just read yesterday's post as my internet was down for a couple of days. As usual there were some very dumb assed posts on there but Ace you were the clear winner with the Protector a distant second. Harper's hairdresser is paid by the taxpayer ( Mulroney had to have two when he travelled). Now our debt is certainly going up with the free spending Harperites but it is still in the Billions not in the Trillions. You are going to have to stop painting such a huge target on yourself. Have a great day all.

Nanag - great ideas!
Books are such an individual, personal kinda thing - can look right into someone's soul if you know what they read. Don't think I want to get that personal on here.

This special thank you goes out to a very kind, caring person, I am not at libery to mention his name, however, he is active in helping others through answering wanted ads on here, among other venues, from people who are in need of something. You know who you are 'J'. He delivered to me today a Blood Pressure Digital Meter he bought from an ad posted here,at no cost to me, even tho I offered.I had posted on here that I was in urgent need of one and he emailed me about it. We met in a public place with a friend of mine. His eyes say as much as his kind deeds. He just said,"Pay it forward", like the little boy in that movie. He spends out of his own pocket to help others it seems, like the baby crib he bought $100 and brought it to the person in need for their new infant. Hopefully I will be able to 'Pay It Forward' and have the opportunity to give back to someone else who is in need of something that is in my power to give freely. What a better world this would be if only everyone would do this for each other. Thanks again to Angel 'J'.Have a wonderful day! And let me always be mindful of other's needs and not just look and say, "That's too bad, pity". He has awoken the spirit in me to "never miss a chance to help someone because you may not get many chances", I wrote that long ago and have tried to live by it, let me try harder.

Boxers are better.
Boxers allow air flow, important in keeping jock itch to a minimum.
They also help keep the family jewels cool, important during the years of trying to have children.
Boxers don't do the crawl up between the cheeks like briefs resulting in less skids.
Briefs can help with support as you age and your nuts are racing each other to the floor.

What would you like to discuss next....

Here's a topic..... writing. I have not seen so many 18 year olds who have graduated and don't what it means when the form asks for a signature. "Does that mean cursive? I usually just print."
All these youngsters are using technology and are losing the skill of writing. Not to mention texting is killing grammar and spelling.
I heard on a radio station (in the U.S.) that they will no longer be teaching writing in the elementary schools. Discuss :)

If you want a good description of our recent temperatures, have a gander at this one by Archibald Lampman.

The glittering roofs are still with frost; each worn
Black chimney builds into the quiet sky
Its curling pile to crumble silently.
Far out to westward on the edge of morn,
The slender misty city towers up-borne
Glimmer faint rose against the pallid blue;
And yonder on those northern hills, the hue
Of amethyst, hang fleeces dull as horn.
And here behind me come the woodmen's sleighs
With shouts and clamorous squeakings; might and main
Up the steep slope the horses stamp and strain,
Urged on by hoarse-tongued drivers—cheeks ablaze,
Iced beards and frozen eyelids—team by team,
With frost-fringed flanks, and nostrils jetting steam.

Apparently they bring a whole skid in front of him and one pass of his hands, a few mumbles and your good to go on any highway. You can drive like a freaken idiot and your covered. Also as a back up I have a Mickey "D" froggy on an elastic tied onto the sunvisor and my lucky stuffed cod (it's an east coast thing) in the glove box. They arrived at 11:pm when 8:00pm would have been the norm. My beloved seems a little uptight when I mention her lack of Mojo's, too bad baptist don't go in for that kind of stuff.
Sam C 1/22/2013 10:08:11 AM Report

lambkins... a few of us were discussing that very topic recently. Unfortunately, the curriculum expectations are so jam-packed that elementary teachers don't have the time to spend teaching cursive writing and giving their students time to practise this skill. As well, with students using computers to create and print documents, the skill is fast becoming unnecessary.

It is a shame, because well-done cursive writing can be a joy to read. But, the emphasis on academic subjects and basic literacy, teaching children to make pretty writing is just not a priority.

Everson so what do you think of Council decision to waste 190,000 of your taxpayers money on a Risky Venture of a Incubator in the downtown.

Ward 1 Councillor Butland likes this as does Ward 2 Councillor Sheehan.

Councillor Sheehan is the chair of this venture.

There may be a perceived conflict here as Councillor Sheehan is employed by the Provincial Government. This may interfere with any provincial participation.

It just appears that this council just loves to stick it to the taxpayers at every chance from wasting tax money to raising users fees.

Wait budget night this when they will do the double whammy on the taxpayers.

And guest which two members of will missed that meeting? The same two last year.

A business incubator is when some entrepreneur lays an egg of an idea and gets several tax-supported assistants to help keep the idea warm until funding runs out.

Elsewhere, data has shown that 15% are unsuccessful master incubator graduates and end up with egg on their faces.

With placing 2nd in Ontario and 23rd in Canada among the highest entrepreneurial cities, I think we are doing just fine without another tax siphon.

Have some respect..well..he told me where to go.
Being the patient person I am, I grabed him by the shoulder and got him out of the seat, and told the lady to sit down.
While still holding this 14 or 15 yr old by the shoulder, I advised him that I didnt get up to give him my seat, it was for this lady..I know..I know..maybe I could have handled it better, The lady said thank you, and some people started to clap.....needless to say, this little punk got of shortly after.

I have a short story about doors...

I went to Station Mall with my son when he was about 14-15 yrs old.(several years ago now). He walked in thru the doors ahead of me and never held the door. It closed and I stood there outside looking into the mall. My son walked on into the mall oblivious to the fact that I was no longer walking with him. I stood still outside in front of the doors. People looked at me oddly and I just smiled. A few opened the door for me and I just said no thank you. My son finally realized I was not with him and came back to the door(he could see me standing there). He opened the door , I said thank you, and walked into the mall. I NEVER said a word to him.. but he got the message. I have never had to say .. hold the door for me or anyone else. That little lesson embarrassed him enough and he learned well from it. He is 37 now

Brianne,
I hope your landlord is paying, to rid you of your uninvited guest. I have not heard of anyone having "Rats" in years. Not to say there are none. I am sure a lot of people don't like to talk about the issue. Good on you,for coming foward. If you live in a unit within the building, the PCO should do all units. When the PCO give you the "all clear" it may be for your own peace of mind to..buy some steel wool it is very inexpensive, block (under your kitchen sink any holes you may see. Wear rubber gloves and shove that steel wool where the water pipes come into any opening, in the kitchen and under the bathroom sink.

Good Luck.

A.
