Benefit to help with travel costs
At 18 weeks pregnant Alyssa found out that Baby Bentley has Gastroschisis. Gastroschisis is a birth defect in which an infant's intestines stick out of the body through a defect on one side of the umbilical cord.
Because of this birth defect, Alyssa has to travel to Toronto to be induced at 37 weeks, at Mount Sinai Hospital on Feb 20th. She will then be induced on Feb 26th and once Baby Bentley is stable he will then be transferred to Sick Kids Hospital for 30-90 days in an incubator and feeding tubes, as well as have surgery.
Alyssa will be accompanied by her mother; Christina Lapossie, who has to take this time off work to be with her and Bentley. There is a benefit being held for Baby Bentley on January 25th, 2013 at the Garden River Community Hall , to help with travel expenses and to help cover costs of staying in Toronto for his arrival and medical procedures.
We are soliciting donations from local businesses for prizes. If your business is interested in donating to this cause we would greatly appreciate any contributions. The family thanks you for your contributions and support during this time of need.
Please contact Christina Lapossie at 705-975-2368
