Morning Folks...

A brisk one out there this Am.

Having to make a quick trip to town today, somewhat unannounced for the wife to see about her eye (cataract op which went wrong) as they slipped up regarding her follow up appointments.

I hate having these trips, must be getting old, just thinking I used to put 60K on a vehicle a year at one time, driving back and forth to Sudbury for 10 years...

Ah well, you all have a nice day out there..

My territory was Elliot Lake to White River and had some white knuckle winter driving experiences that still cause me to shake my head about the chances I took. I gotta say though that despite the north highway's reputation the worst experiences were between SSM and E.L. when I'd tuck myself behind a transport and hope it didn't drive off a cliff cuz I was going to be right behind it

Gooooood Morning Sault Ste. Marie....
Another promising day - however, you have to make and keep your own promises, I'm not doing it for you.

The winter driving can be tough on our Northern Highways but over the years I have been caught in a couple in Southern Ontario that seemed worse. One was in Kitchener and there were abandoned vehicles all over town so it was really tough driving and the other was in London with vehicles left all over the roadways. It kind of seemed like driving in the Middle East. lol

Just back from the eye clinic at the SAH... In 40 years of driving I can only remember two "pucker factor" instances, One the wife making like and owl.. (oh oh oh) as we slide broadside down towards the Goulais River bridge on 17N as a tractor trailer was coming the other way... and the other just over the railway bridge at Thessalon where the road goes to four lane and I caught some slush in the nearside lane and again went broadside with a transport right behind me. The sight of those radiator slats opening and closing is something I shall remember to my dying day...
