Grace 11/2/2012 7:43:40 AM ReportStats..
1 Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers;
2 but their delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law they meditate day and night.
3 They are like trees
planted by streams of water,
which yield their fruit in its season,
and their leaves do not wither.
In all that they do, they prosper.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish

Speaking of guns (or lack of them), the Benghazi massacre is not going away. The main stream media, also known as the Obama Advocacy Group, is acting like it never happened, but they can't keep it from being a major topic of discussion.
Obummer has blood on his hands and he is a liar who hides behind women and children.There is a lot of anger out there that the media is, of course, downplaying, not reporting and covering up.

realitycheck 11/2/2012 9:57:06 AM ReportBy Greg Miller, Published: November 1
The CIA rushed security operatives to an American diplomatic compound in Libya within 25 minutes of its coming under attack and played a more central role in the effort to fend off a night-long siege than has been acknowledged publicly, U.S. intelligence officials said Thursday.
The agency mobilized the evacuation effort, took control of an unarmed U.S. military drone to map possible escape routes, dispatched an emergency security team from Tripoli, the capital, and chartered aircraft that ultimately carried surviving American personnel to safety, U.S. officials said.
The account provided by senior U.S. intelligence officials offers the most detailed chronology yet of the Sept. 11 assault that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans. The attack has become a flash point in the U.S. presidential campaign.

Better yet, the Y and Rotary can donate the facility for a $1 under the same coneditions that were imposed long ago. We'll see how long that would last. Upfront, the complainers wouldn't even have to put their money where there mouths are, just time, but in time, the $$$ will start flowing out the door and we'll be back to where we are. That is why you will never see it passed on to another trustee for the $1 they paid out for it. It was nice to see Grace bring the matter up. No one else on this site sure seemed to care. Darwin said in his own words;
"If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down."
--Charles Darwin, Origin of Species
DNA alone provides Darwin with his break down.
As humans we look to the universe for answers and understanding when there is a microscopic world at our fingertips that equals the universe and provides answers to many of mans most sought after questions.

shakespeare 11/2/2012 8:51:48 PM ReportActually, rw, I was going to include that Darwin pivotal quotation in the original post but I couldn't be bothered to go back and find it ... but yes, it was significant. What is interesting is that just as the the Copernican revolution was rejected by the Ptolemy followers (Catholic hierarchy)as it threw out the idea of the earth being the centre of the universe, I do find a somewhat similar line of thought from atheists regarding the Intelligent Design theory. I actually spent time this afternoon looking at Dawkins, whom I've read copiously, and I must admit that, while he is brilliant, he has this similar rather agressive, atheistic line drawn in the sand. He sees anyone who has ID theories as being somehow blinded by a preconceived belief in a deity. However, the same charge might be laid against him as he has made a career of atheism (not just biology). It's all very interesting and I love learning about this with an open mind.
shakespeare 11/2/2012 9:12:34 PM ReportNot to get too carried away with the science/philosophy stuff, I would agree that RYTAC is an Intelligent Design and would really hate to lose it. It is special to the Soo and not many places have that kind of location. I would love to see it being taken over by those with a sense of vitality and vision and turned into a sports and water resource for all the youth in the Sault.

That is what I have been trying to get across to stats.
Yes an open mind is paramount.
So is studying a variety of theories.
Throw mathematics and the science of patterns into it, you'll get a brain cramp.
I put hard liners like Dawkins in the same pot as fire and brimstone preachers.
shakespeare 11/2/2012 9:55:58 PM Reportrw: I would not agree with your last statement, as I believe that Dawkins is working with facts. I also am not convinced that the the points that status includes from his diatribe last night are totally the same issue that we are talking about. We are talking about an Intelligent Design, some kind of a Creator, while he is attacking dogma, myth, man-made self-serving and totally absurd customs that are tied to a man-made religiosity that I too find ridiculous. The issue boils down to this, in my opinion:
"Is life in all of its beauties and pains a random happenstance, or a creation of a force that we will never understand?"
