Sorry Wisen, I'm going to have to take the day off. Too good a time at the Moose Lodge last night. Grandpa Ed sang us a good old Elvis tune, "That's All Right, Mama" and the harmony with Larry and those two gals was heavenly. It was so good I might return for the Friday evening jam session at 8 Pm at the Moose Lodge.
I tell you folks, these jam sessions will be the death of me. I'm up far too late Thursdays, Fridays, and this week even Saturday for a party. My grandson will help with the entertainment with his bass guitar. He has been invited to perform with that great country band, TRADITIONAL COUNTRY. Too bad some of you folks don't like country music. Those old tunes were great, you just don't know what you're missing.
I agree, the new stuff is horrid but the oldies were great and you can still get them at the jam sessions at the Moose Lodge at 8 pm every Thursday and Friday night.
I'm afraid I won't be with you much longer, folks. Between this diabetes and the jam sessions, it doesn't look too good, YEE HAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No - actually there goes the median IQ on this site. The VP of the Morons for Mitt might want to get some education - any education - about American politics.
To blindly say that this president or any president for that matter would ignore a threat on American citizens and territory is stupid.
In the US that might be considered treasonous.
To further perpetuate this crap about Mr. Obama somehow running off to campaign and/or party with celebrities is just adolescent nonsense.
Let me try to explain how politicians try to get votes.
First off the days of print ads, local radio spots and fliers door-to-door are gone.
Video is the 'hot medium' whether it is network, cable or Twitter and Facebook.
Every moment of every appearance by either the president or his wife is carefully planned and choreographed for maximum demographic impact.
Whether it is him on with Leno or her on 'Kelly and Michael' the experts slot and design the format and the target audience.Right down to the time slot and the Q&A.To do anything else is a waste of time and resources.
As a case in point - when cigarette ads were banned from t.v. what replaced them? Pet food commercials. Same audience, same market and same money.
Does it get repetitive?
Just how many ways can you say that Romney is a bullshitter without saying it ad nauseum?
That's why I marvel at the endurance of all the candidates. And if you'll remember one of the things that killed Newt's run was his taking a vacation at a bad time.
When you sit at your keyboard in your mother's basement in a small town in Canada and call people stupid names the only thing that happens is that you rise higher in the hierarchy of the Morons for Mitt club.

It would have been a presidential decision. There was presumably a rationale for such a decision. What was it? When and why—and based on whose counsel obtained in what meetings or conversations—did President Obama decide against sending in military assets to help the Americans in need?

Obama Refuses to Say Whether Americans Were Denied Help During Benghazi Attack
President Barack Obama refused to say whether Americans were denied help during the terror attack in Benghazi, Libya:
KYLE CLARK: "Were the Americans under attack at the consulate in Benghazi Libya denied requests for help during that attack? And is it fair to tell Americans that what happened is under investigation and we'll all find out after the election?"
PRESIDENT OBAMA: "Well, the election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened. These are folks who served under me who I had sent to some very dangerous places. Nobody wants to find out more what happened than I do. But we want to make sure we get it right, particularly because I have made a commitment to the families impacted as well as to the American people, we're going to bring those folks to justice. So, we're going to gather all the facts, find out exactly what happened, and make sure that it doesn't happen again but we're also going to make sure that we bring to justice those who carried out these attacks."
KYLE CLARK: "Were they denied requests for help during the attack?"
PRESIDENT "OBAMA: Well, we are finding out exactly what happened. I can tell you, as I've said over the last couple of months since this happened, the minute I found out what was happening, I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to. Number two, we're going to investigate exactly what happened so that it doesn't happen again. Number three, find out who did this so we can bring them to justice. And I guarantee you that everyone in the state department, our military, the CIA, you name it, had number one priority making sure that people were safe. These were our folks and we're going to find out exactly what happened, but what we're also going to do it make sure that we are identifying those who carried out these terrible attacks."

I would expect the order to send US troops into a sovereign country would have to come from the President. It would create a diplomatic firestorm even if they were defending US citizens and it would be avoided unless permission was given by the local government.
I think what confused those on the ground (and those watching via drone) was that the attack stopped. I'm sure they thought it was over.
As far as the CIA helping....technically they're not supposed to be there.

You asked "What is the largest fresh water lake in the world?"
If you had asked "in Canada" instead of the world or asked "in the world by surface area" then you would have a correct answer as one of the choices.
I have had this question before in trivia games.
The answer is Lake Baikal it is the world's largest freshwater lake in terms of volume. It contains approximately 20% of Earth's fresh surface water.
This is a volume of water approximately equivalent to all five of the North American Great Lakes combined.

Gee status...a bit sexist?

Get with yhe times...lol

You flunked out of the Alan Alda School of Manliness didn't you.
It would be a swamp orgasm when referring to Ann Coulter.
You are referring to your typical left wing feminazi when using the term swamp organism.

Not sexist at all....it was merely a reminder of what Romney said about equal pay and flexible schedules. Speaking of flexible...I like my dames to be bendable. I have binders....BINDERS I tells ya full of them
And rw, yes...Lake Baikal...oh I so cherish the childhood I spent with you on the shores of that body of water. The splashing, the giggling and innocent frolicking. The inappropriate touching and subsequent beatings with a reed by our shocked parents......but I am ok now...I think. Relatively secure in my sexuality. Except for Thursdays. That's when I go about town in drag.

I'm pretty sure all your kids have flown the coop and some time ago.

Is that glue on pit hair Darlene has or did it come with her.

I bought the "earthy" Darlene version at Costo. It's the real deal.
It was a deal I couldn't pass up. Two for one. I went in with "steelworker". He ordered the inflatable "Scott". A handsome chap in leather chaps with a fierce mustache and interchangeable "accessories". I didn't ask any questions...it's none of my business.
statusquo 10/26/2012 10:09:06 PM Report
Now that I think about it...."Scott" looks a lot like Paul Ryan...six pack and all...sans that idiotic widow's peak a la Eddie Monster.

I see the same ole crap being discussed (to death) yet again, still, as usual.. what is the saying? "same s**t different day".
Sad about the highway disaster in Wawa Ontario Canada.
Just had to see a couple different words on here.. a body could go insane reading the same words over and over again( Obama, Romney, Lefty Righty blah blah) and expecting a different outcome..like maybe a different topic .. so just thought I would throw in some new words.... highway..Ontario.. Canada.
Change is good people..it has been said challenging your brain (with something different )can help ward of alzheimer's

I plan to be gracious in the "Rom's" victoy and not be too insufferable to the supporters of the "One"
What are your plans? Give a big neener neener and gloat?

That's enough for me for one day.
SQ is coming in to lighten the burden of trying to enlighten the more polite neo-cons.
Tomorrow after their meds drop I'll slice and dice a few of the Morons for Mitt before they get distracted by the Saturday morning cartoons.
Then I will offer Spelly a tutorial on semi-colon usage.
It isn't high drama but it beats NASCAR.

Has anyone changed their mind, after weeks of bantering about the US election?
Are people not yet tired of the "experts" on this site who fight hard to indicate which of the 2 rotten apples is less bruised?
I will be so glad when this election is over. Pity we do not show the same concerns over those running for office in our own country.
right wing 10/27/2012 12:38:50 AM Report
One of the worst disasters????
Nobody hurt, thank God.
You obviously DON'T look much farther than your own back yard.
Some washed out roads, damaged cars and a hotel.
It received the attention on this site that it did.
Nothing more, nothing less.
As far as you topic cry babies...this is an open site.
You are free to start any topic you like.
What absolutely slays me is how you come on here and bitch and moan about what some of us like to discuss, yet if it was not for some of these discussions the "Blue Room" would be like the Red Room, three or four posts per day.
Why don't you topic cry babies go visit it.
Don't like it...piss off, as the Brits would say.
