Apparently the town of Wawa has declared a state of emergency. Washouts and flooding due to heavy rain.
Highway 17 south and northbound are still closed as per news on CBC radio at 7 this morning.

Yes Wawa has declared a state of Emergency it is crazy here! Pics have shown the highway washed right away and there are people stuck between washouts on the highway. A transport truck is stuck due to guard rails that let go and went under his truck, A motel has collapsed and washed away. No way in and no way out! Oh yes and gas has gone down $134.9 today!!

Sorry Wisen, I'm going to have to take the day off. Too good a time at the Moose Lodge last night. Grandpa Ed sang us a good old Elvis tune, "That's All Right, Mama" and the harmony with Larry and those two gals was heavenly. It was so good I might return for the Friday evening jam session at 8 Pm at the Moose Lodge.
I tell you folks, these jam sessions will be the death of me. I'm up far too late Thursdays, Fridays, and this week even Saturday for a party. My grandson will help with the entertainment with his bass guitar. He has been invited to perform with that great country band, TRADITIONAL COUNTRY. Too bad some of you folks don't like country music. Those old tunes were great, you just don't know what you're missing.
I agree, the new stuff is horrid but the oldies were great and you can still get them at the jam sessions at the Moose Lodge at 8 pm every Thursday and Friday night.
I'm afraid I won't be with you much longer, folks. Between this diabetes and the jam sessions, it doesn't look too good, YEE HAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps I will wax eloquent on the coming United States election. It seems to be a popular item of discussion these days and it really is important to us here in Canada. But not to worry, we're going to get more of the same no matter which man prevails. We're going down, folks, right along with our southern neighbour.
I am really in a quandary about this. I'd like to see Romney win but if Obama wins it would be more fitting to see the collapse on his watch.

I agree with you, BB. He's not that shallow. He knew exactly what he was doing in his Republican pretense. He was trying to make it more "moderate". That way the Dems could have it all their way. They have succeeded beautifully and that is part of the reason it's all downhill from here.

I always have found it odd that on Canadian tv words such as those are not bleeped out nor is female nudity yet in the US they bleep words and cut out nudity yet can show pepole being shot stabbed raped to their hearts content including the endless ways of how to do these things in great detail..but to say certain words.....ooooohhh...bad

As I said, if the leaders of the country use such language, and the parents use it, then what can you expect from the youth? It's just another symptom of our descent into chaos. The United States and the rest of the English speaking nations are in rapid decline and our use of the language is one of the indications.

All that pending fiscal disaster stuff, and Middle East ready to explode crap.....all that annoying stuff will just have to wait, until after they've done the Hollywood celebrity thing; cuz that's the one thing Obie can do.
The bad news is:

Grace...it is an interesting distinction between two cultures.
It may be as simple as the American historical ties to puritanism. Or it may be as complex as a wedge between different classes and races.
I tend to see it from my biased viewpoint to be another example of Hypocrisy 101: The American Myth.
In any event is has been the subject of many comedians and satirists - the majority of whom of course are liberal/ Godless/homosexual/tree-huggers who are intent on driving Real Americans into a racially mixed soup of beige welfare bums.
That is why America now more than ever needs stronger immigration laws,more prisons with real sentences,tougher limits on hand-outs, less amnesty for demon druggies and more handguns.
What America needs are more civilian militias with nuclear capabilities for protection from all enemies of my gene pool and un-American illegitimate presidents who say 'bullshitter' in front of virgin teens.

The more I read about how Obummer and his flunkies allowed the massacre in Benghazi to go on, all the while denying multiple calls for help in real time, when more than enough assets were available to rescue his own citizens, the more I realize what a shallow and unprincipled excuse for a president he is.
He could have at least put up a fight, but that would have interfered with his plans to fundraise, go on Leno and party with JZ and Beyonce.

Whether it is him on with Leno or her on 'Kelly and Michael' the experts slot and design the format and the target audience.Right down to the time slot and the Q&A.To do anything else is a waste of time and resources.
As a case in point - when cigarette ads were banned from t.v. what replaced them? Pet food commercials. Same audience, same market and same money.

I have no way of knowing of course if our local group fits that demographic.
The younger male group in the US is decidedly more left leaning.
This is just a guess - but my thought is that the education levels are very different.
To oversimplify it - think of Archie Bunker versus Spike Lee.
Until the natural cleansing by age takes place the majority will probably mirror the aged majority of cardinals in the Vatican and Archie - screw change.

I think what confused those on the ground (and those watching via drone) was that the attack stopped. I'm sure they thought it was over.
As far as the CIA helping....technically they're not supposed to be there.
A US rapid response team did land at Benghazi Airport but was delayed an hour due to confusion with Libyan Security Forces over transportation.
When it gets down to it, Obama says the buck stops with him, as Commander-in-Chief.

I see the same ole crap being discussed (to death) yet again, still, as usual.. what is the saying? "same s**t different day".
Sad about the highway disaster in Wawa Ontario Canada.
Just had to see a couple different words on here.. a body could go insane reading the same words over and over again( Obama, Romney, Lefty Righty blah blah) and expecting a different outcome..like maybe a different topic .. so just thought I would throw in some new words.... highway..Ontario.. Canada.
Change is good people..it has been said challenging your brain (with something different )can help ward of alzheimer's

That's enough for me for one day.
SQ is coming in to lighten the burden of trying to enlighten the more polite neo-cons.
Tomorrow after their meds drop I'll slice and dice a few of the Morons for Mitt before they get distracted by the Saturday morning cartoons.
Then I will offer Spelly a tutorial on semi-colon usage.
It isn't high drama but it beats NASCAR.
That's enough for me for one day.

I will be so glad when this election is over. Pity we do not show the same concerns over those running for office in our own country.

You obviously DON'T look much farther than your own back yard.
Some washed out roads, damaged cars and a hotel.
